Need a super simple team relay race warm up?
Hot Potato is a simple relay race that tests players movement, throwing, catching and coordination
INSTRUCTIONS:
For each team set up 3 cones, a starting cone (with the ball), a middle cone about 5m away and a top cone another 5m from that. Line all the teams up so they are racing head to head.
First player takes the ball from the starting cone and runs out to place it on the middle cone.
The ball MUST STAY ON the cone!
Player then runs round the top cone.
Re-collect the ball and throw it underarm to the next in the team who may start their run as soon as they have caught the ball.
First team to complete all runs wins.
You’ll be surprised how often players get caught out by such simple moves.
