This is how you install your Hot Racing Traxxas 2wd transmission/gearbox into your Traxxas slash, rustler, bandit, or stampede. Like and SUBSCRIBE for 100MPH Rustler!!!
Great work on the Hot Racing transmission. Money well spent. I'm definitely leaning towards HR for the housing not sure what gears to go with but your video sure helped to see how it all fits. 👍
Thanks. I found that with the HR case it doesn’t matter too much what gears you use because the aluminum case doesn’t allow for excess slop in the gears. The gears are actually very strong and I haven’t had any explode in the HR tranny.
nice job Josh. I used the rpm bumper mount when i installed my HR tranny on my 2wd slash no prep car. It sure would be nice if H R ever sent directions for anything or had them available on their website. But i guess they figure if you are buying their product you better be able to figure it out. big like & new subscriber here
Wow, @norcalrc if he would have watched your 45 second video he could have figured out how to mount his freaking bumper correctly. And yes, HR should have instructions, it’s not intuitive at all.
It’s roughly 2’x1.5’ but to be honest it’s a little small. I would be much happier with a 2’x4’ but I don’t have the space. This one is good and sturdy though. It is a Lifetime Table if you wanted to know.
what driveshafts do you have?, ive been looking for new ones that are stronger than the stock plastic ones, and all the reviews say their bad. pls help
I’ve got the Traxxas Steel CV axles. They are a little weak at the threads and have snapped a few times, but other than that they are great thought pricey. Look at getting MIP shafts. Make sure your slipper is set correctly and you might have some luck with the plastic shafts. I had a lot luck with the plastic shafts when the Rustler was in its drag phase. SUBSCRIBE!!!
I use the stock screw in pins that came with the rustler maybe yours are bent a bit and they won’t fit. If they are bent just get a hammer and and anvil or something hard and bend it back.
Thanks and thanks for the info. If you want me to I can make a detailed video about the inside of the tranny and give all the information needed on washers and everything. If I do it will probably come out in 2-3 weeks. I have to get inside and rebuild that tranny anyways because it blew the diff. Subscribe 👍
@@joshsrcs well I actually have already got mine rebuilt.. unfortunately I didn't buy new washers and bearings as I should have but it is running just fine.. switched to a hot racing she'll as well. I think it would not be a bad idea as I didn't find much content on the subject when I found your video.
That’s exactly wha it is, a transmission case upgrade. At this point I had not seen proline so… oops. This case works perfectly though, and I am happy with it. SUBSCRIBE!!!
2mm steel screw vs 2.5mm steel screw will always be weaker on the head. The 2.5mm has the same amount of structural metal as the 2mm, but it has more surface area for the hex which makes it harder to strip.
🤣🤣🤣 great joke! I’ve read a lot on the RPM one and how crap it is. RPM’s plastic is too flexible and it allows the gears to shift around and strip. If anything I should’ve gotten the Proline one. I am not trying to be rude btw.
Great job, I’m glad it’s working well for you. Maybe you shouldn’t just go to an install video and comment that I should’ve gotten a different part that competes with the one I got. I did my research and saw a lot of people say the RPM was crap. Why’d you even come to my video in the first place?
Your bumper/wheelie bar mount isn’t even close to being right. Anybody needs to do this, watch different videos that show how to do it right. After the way you did it your bumper is going to bend the motor mount plate with a hard knock to the rear. In all fairness, I couldn’t figure it out either, I watched some good videos. This should come with instructions for the rear bumper/wheelie bar mounting points at least.
I obviously know that it’s not right, but what else can you do? I fixed it by drilling holes in the chassis and zip-tied the wheelie bar to the chassis.
@@joshsrcs What else can you do, lol? Seriously? You do it right dude, don’t be drilling and using zip ties. The information is out there. There’s one guy who has a video that’s literally 45 seconds long that shows you how to do it properly. Without Swiss cheesing and weakening your chassis. They give you those parts for a reason, and it’s not so you just toss them in the trash and break out the zip ties. I hope people that who don’t know better don’t end up taking your advice and bending their motor plate or worse, denting the can on their motor because they thought you knew what you were doing. No offense dude, but if you’re posting advice at least make some effort to make it correct. This could be a really costly screw up for folks who already have a hard time affording this hobby.
Just use common sense and everything will be alright. I’m not commanding anyone to do it my way. I’m just showing how I did it, and if people don’t like it that’s ok. When I looked there were 0 videos showing how to install this case and that’s why I made the video. I like how my wheelie bar turned out because it’s really strong with the zip ties. Just do you and I’ll do me, ok.
