I love the fact that comedy spoof films by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and/or Jerry Zucker contain jokes even in the closing credits! 🤣

The Native American plains scene near the beginning was because Dances with Wolves had just come out the year before. As for the NA "dialog", most of it is some combination of names of Minnesota and Wisconsin lakes, rivers and cities: Owatonna, Minnetonka, Ojibwa, Nokomis, Shakopee, Itasca, Minocqua, Minnehaha, Mahtomedi. Then it slides into silliness with diphthong and rickshaw. Then we come back to the first category with Mendota, Winnebago(which is a town in Minnesota as well as the very recognizable RV brand), and Orono. Then we finish out with the Jackson siblings: La Toya, Tito, Jermaine. It shouldn't be a big surprise that director/writer Jim Abrahams was born and raised in Wisconsin, and the other lead writer(Pat Proft) was born and raised in Minnesota. ;)

Hot Shots Part Deux is also very good. Largely spoofs Vietnam War movies and Rambo 2. If you enjoy Spaceballs, you'll love any of Mel Brooks' other works I imagine. Robin Hood: Men In Tights (with Cary Elwes), Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles (both with Gene Wilder) are all hilarious.

“Is it safe” dentist scene is a reference to an old Dustin Hoffman movie The Marathon Man. In it he is tortured by a criminal dentist and asked “is it safe ?” because it’s s code word phrase that he doesn’t know the answer to, as it’s mistaken identity, but he becomes part of the mystery/thriller. The scene is actually incredibly stressful because he has no idea how to answer correctly and each time causes the dentist to hurt him more.

Haha, yes, the opening (rest of the movie also very funny, of course) sets the tone perfectly 😄

Thank you. The musical number around the piano in the red dress is taken from "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (1989) well worth a watch for the performances and the often unexpected musical talent. Trivia: Rather than being from Top Gun itself I think the food scene is taken from "9½ Weeks" (1986). More Trivia: The dental scene at the end is a reference to the "Marathon Man" (1976) a movie with an incredible cast.

Fun movie. A good palate cleanser after the Halloween season.
