Well, I braved the elements and went camping during a polar vortex which is very rare for Nova Scotia to experience. While living in Alberta, I often dealt with these, where it was -50 degrees Celsius at times. The only difference in Nova Scotia is that our climate is very moist, being adjacent to the ocean and a lot more bone-chilling. It was a cold ride on the quad even with the balaclava being worn. I had an "ice cream" headache lol. Once down in the woods and out of the windchill it was much more pleasant. While moving around and setting up the tent I kept myself warm. But when I had to take the mitts off and touch anything metal, let me tell you it was cold and my fingers even stuck to the metal. Once all was set up, the wood processed and the stove going it was a lot more pleasing. Though even with the Pomoly T-Brick Altay Winter Stove pumping out the heat it was still fighting to heat up the Hex Plus. With that, I managed to prepare a delicious spaghetti with deer donair sausage and peppers stuffed with the same. I sat and enjoyed the fire for a while and enjoyed a No Boats On Sunday Cranberry Cider. I followed that up with my Dances With Wolves novel. I slept quite well with the odd chill through the night. It warmed up into the morning and I enjoyed a nice cup of Black Rifle Coffee Company Coffee. I packed up and had a warmer ride out on the quad, stopping at the cascades on the way by.
