I had the first version of this way back in 2010 when it came out and in that one all the rockets and things popped out of the forearms. They engineered it so that before I was with split open and then those things would pull out which was pretty cool. However the proportions are much better on this and it's more accurate. Plus I love the satin finish on this figure
The Mark 3 had dark maroon paint rather than red. But Hot Toys and other toy companies never get it right. The first Hot Toys Mark 3 released back in 2009 had the correct maroon paint. But still, this one looks much better than the awful 1.0 candy apple Mark 3 released in 2015.
What’s the diecast content and how much it weighs compared to Mk 7? Whenever I pick up my Mk 7 it always pleasantly surprises me how heavy it is relative to size. Wonder if it’s the same for this figure…
Just ordered mine and should be hand in a couple of days. My first iron man was the 85 and I love that figure the nano style is amazing, however when I got the Mark VII in hand I was blown away, the mechanical aspect of the figure blew me away and I think that’s what drew me to the Mark III, being the iconic first hot rod red iron man suit from the original movie is also a big plus. This the Mark V, new Mark VI and the the Mark 46 Civil War and Concept 46 will complete my Iron Man collection. Think I’ll have the shield on the left forearm with a right forearm rocket with the battle damaged chest and shoulders with the should rockets in the display
I'm upgrading to this latest version. The proportions are more inline with the other Iron Man figures. I'm also looking forward to the new Mark VI as well.
Yes. The same headsculpt as in Mech Test, Team Suit, Mark 46, Mark 47, Mark 50, and Mark 5 Suit-Up. It is really noticeable if you have a Mech Test Tony. The hair swoop is a bit different, but that's it. For the others, they just slapped different hairpiece on it. 😂
This is a significant dissapointment for me: it's too tall--standing next to Captain America they are the same height despite RDJ being 5'9" and Evans being 6'2".. And it shows in how long the body is.. The original was shorter on purpose. Next the base is terrible : the monger was able to hold him in one hand yet the base makes him look roughly the same size. And of course they give zero battle damaged parts for the legs or back so what's the point...? I am really sorry for pre-ordering this. I thought it would be much better but it is a overly expensive mess.. C- at best...
