Hot Wheels Customization : 1970 Chevelle 

Been a heck of a month, glad to be at my desk again finally. I've added about 175 cars to the collection, mostly muscle. It should be a good year! Thanks for your patience!

@Diecast Resurrection - good show kid. When I was your age the big Chevelles were about a thousand shades of blue from sky to deep metalflake gunsteel blue and when you were searching for a proper color I screamed at the screen "blue, fool!".

Pair of Shelby style stripes would suit it I think. Love the big ‘n’ littles, very cool 😎. Somebody else suggested chroming the window surrounds? That’s a good suggestion too. Keep up the good work and irreverent humour 😉👍

This is really cool. I grew up in the 60s and 70s. When everybody else was getting high. I had a 1970 Chevelle SS with a 454. Back then,you could cruise! Three or four cities around here. But then that all went away. Because fuel went from $.40 a gallon to 1.29. Yeah ..Fuel crisis.You have to understand the time 1974 -75 .But I still have pictures ,and memories of the ( especially the times in the backseat ,with the sweethearts,mmm )70 Chevelle with the eleven to one.. Domed Pistons,with a big roller cam! 4-11 rear end ,yes, 12 bolt. A lot of chrome, metal flake green, White Racing stripes. Black interior! Hearst shifter,tee handle! Headers made it sound really freaking great. Everything under the hood was chrome! Steel braided hoses. Double pumper,Holly fuel pump! (Yes Holly fuel pump was chrome also) with a big Holley 4 barrel carburetor (can’t remember the number 9 something) was fed by what seemed like garden hoses. Could only use Sunoco 260 Premium. Or airplane fuel! Which I only used at the Muncie drags! At the time I couldn’t afford wheelie bars. So I just log chained my rear end down! With N 50-15s Because thats all I could afford at 17. And during the middle 70s. I could still run it on the street. There wasn’t nothing around here that would beat it! Won a lot of nice nice cars ,title for title! She ended up at a junkyard.Because I sold it to a school mate, because I got married, like a dumb ass. He took it to the drags. Blew a water pump and blew the engine. He Didn’t have the money to repair. End of story! But I still got the memories. 😎

August 13, 2019 - Diecast Resurrection - You, sir, have a serious talent. Your work with scale paint - in all its aspects from prep to polish - is formidable. It also doesn’t hurt a bit that your unfetter tongue is a witty companion to your ever calculating mind. Damn - it’s a joy and inspiration watching and listening. Sometimes you are my playlist while I model. But - your true canvas is in 1:18 scale. While you produce wonderful “64” scale paint, the “Purple Woody” and “White Firebird” really show your talent for scale painting. Go BIG or - screw it - there is NO OR - go BIG Thank you for sharing...

Definitely one of my favorite casting, maybe a "Heavy Chevy" stripes on the side in black, and the rubber pad on back bumper? Like to see what you come up with on one of the Olds 442. Great video 👍 and entertainment.

I have a real 1970 chevelle ss 396 with this custom blue paint scheme that is purple blue colour changing. Has a built 396 in it and I really enjoyed watching this cause I love seeing someone else recognizing the car

I’ve used the M2 wheels from a 57 Ford on a Lesney Matchbox Lincoln Continental. It made it look so much more accurate. Definitely a good tip, and glad to see you’re back!

Good to see you back. That floor polish is good stuff I cleaned some of my original cars with it diluted with some water and it worked good just buffed them up by hand with soft cloth to finish.

the Chevelle, is one of the most iconic and beautiful cars of its time, to the point that it is a scale or natural size looks just as beautiful, an excellent job, I must say that when I choose to put lines to work at the end my head exploded 1 minute earlier when I think the same, even if, it is beautiful.

The corners of the hood have hood pins, you could use some silver to touch them up. Also the rear tires have a little spacer (molding) you could trim, to tuck them a little better. Very nice build

Good to have you back! Having to watch Marty's Matchbox is like a small box of Tim Bits with a small Tim's coffee that's gone cold - it gets you by but ruins your day until you can crack open a Blue

looks great, i might recommend a vinyl roof, would go with the interior, and contrast great with that nice paint you put on it, and also color some of the body trim with the chrome pen.

I would paint the chrome trim around the windows
