Another quick unboxing video, this time for the 1:18 scale version of the Ghostbusters II Ecto 1a from Hot Wheels Elite range. Also a quick look at my Ghostbusters collection.
I already see 2 problems, first Hot Wheels never put the Ghostbusters emblem on the hood and second the tailights points are supposed to both be red not one red one white, it looks odd.
Glaring things like that and the missing red tail lights are why I didn't buy it. Had other minor things off as well, like the light bar patterns. Hot Wheels just got a little too much wrong to justify the original ~$150 price IMO
I've just checked the Ghostbusters II DVD and there is a GBII logo on the hood of the car and also the lights at the back should both be red, it don't really bother me that much if I'm honest. Personally speaking I never liked the whole GBII logo being used by the Ghostbusters. If you think about it the GBII logo should only be used to advertise the film, however in the film they are still the Ghostbusters and should always have the original GB logo on everything and not a GBII or GBIII logo.
Very nice video and an impressive GB collection! I'm sold.. I already have their 1/18 Ecto-1, now after watching this video, I think I want to get this Ecto-1A too!!! Will maybe get KITT and Ecto-1A together once my local retailer brings them in...

Thats where you're wrong. There never was a Ghostbusters emblem on the hood of Ecto-1 and 1A... As for the taillights, on the Hot Wheels Elite 1/18 Ecto-1 that I have, both red pointed lights are there, so I'm not sure why there is only one red pointed light on each side on the Ecto-1A. Maybe thats how the taillights looked in Ghostbusters 2, I gotta see the movie again to be sure. Hot Wheels is good in accuracy, so perhaps thats how the taillights looked on the Ecto-1A in Ghostbusters 2..
I have the 1.18 of the ecto 1a aswell and also have the 30th anniversary Ghostbusters figures but there packs come off and apparently they are not supposed to
Victoria Taylor I have a really huge Ghostbusters collection including everything Matty Collector released. I just don't have the time to do an update video, I will try at some point to put some more videos up showing my collection.
Then again, I may be wrong about the Ecto-1A not having the hood emblem.. Its been so long since I last saw GB 2..haha.. But the Ecto-1 didn't have an emblem on the hood... Just the 1A.. Logo should be there and I'm still not too sure about the 2 pointed red lights at the back... Manufacturing defect? Error? At the Hot Wheels Elite website, its clearly seen missing the inner red light as well...
