Hello from miami,I have always use metal cast paint in die cast, works even better is u use metal cast base coat, they do come in green and yellow, works really well if you dry them with a hot hair dryer, great video.
Subbed a while back, now I'm especially glad I did. It's the experimentation that is, for me, the most fun part of this hobby. Thanks for sharing as you learn.
I love the metalcast paints myself.... always my first choice, just wished they had a better selection of colors in it....your cars turned out beautiful
I use testors transparent colors in the rattle cans to get the spectraflame effect over the polished bodies and it costs about half of what the duplicolor does. I have used both of them and they both look great. Awesome video of course as usual. Keep it up.
Hobby lobby has it about $5 a can. If you have an email address I can send you a picture of an El Camino I just finished in the testors green transparent.
Great paint jobs! I fund the chrome paints are an illusion, once you clear over them or paint, it goes to a grey paint like a primer. The spectraflame base coat I think the sparklies come though the spectraflame and make it more candy like. Lots of tiny sparkles may be the key. LOL I have used the anodized yellow before and I find the can put out to much paint puts out to much, I de-can it into a plastic cup and add clear coat with hardener and air brush it on. It gives me more control on thickness and I get a more transparent look.
@@Jsellers1965 thank you, yeah the de-can method mix with clear on a black base under the chrome would be logical like the Createx except with urethane.
I've never used the Duplicolor Chrome paint, so I can't speak from experience with it. Other Chrome paints I've used in the past say that after the paint dries to buff it to the chrome finish. I wonder if that would have made a difference. Of course the last time I shot chrome paint was about 10 years ago.
You should try wet sanding between coats! And I watch a fellow spray the the rattle can in a cup and then use his air brush. It turned out pretty nice. Just ideas by no mean a expert or even a beginner! Just stuff I have watched! If you decide to do more like this I will be here watching.
I'm really liking the red and purple . Oh by the way that gas monkey Corvette is awesome! Where can I get one like that brother ? Love the blue with flames .
The chrome is not great. I usually spray these on right over cleaned and shined base. Usually 5 minutes between light coats with a small fan to add drying. I use revive floor polish for clear coat. I find that with metalcast I can not go back the next day and put on another coat as I get the previous coat starts to ripple and flake. Also putting can in warm water gives a better spray. I use Duplicolor on ever vehicle as it gives me authentic factory colors and different color primers can alter those colors.
Did anyone else notice that the rattle can paint pulled away from the body lines and the alcohol ink laid in the body lines? Did this really happen or is it just my tired eyes. If it did happen what causes this?
I did notice on the blue car the hood lines from the Dupli-color were drawn away. The alcohol ink may have been from too many coats since I didn't use as much ink as I should have.
Very good video ! I've seen the dupli-color anodized paint in the stores and a couple guys have used it in there videos. What's the drying time on that stuff .... if you don't mind me asking ?
need to use gloss black as a base before using the chrome, medium to light heavy coats of the chrome, no clear, as that will dull the chrome look, more to an aluminum look....
nice with 1/24 and larger scale used rattle can with rattle cans used cheap testors air brush and glass bottles never happy with clair out of a can not sure like i said got to try this please comment luv scooter yellow is cool please do one thanks again
Sorry I don't really do commissions as I barely have time here lately to do the projects I have for the channel but I thank you for thinking of me for that
