Hot Wheels Rod Squad Hudson Hornet race in Forza Horizon 4

This here ladies and gentlemen is the second race in the series of Forza Horizon 4 races. The car being driven today is the 1952 Hudson Hornet, fitting with a huge V8 under the hood! The paint scheme of this Hudson Hornet is that of the Hot Wheels Hudson Hornet from the 2020 Rod Squad series. I happen to have the purple one in my collection, hence the paint scheme in-game. This NASCAR legend has come to tear up the asphalt on the Falcon Speedway of the Lego Speed Champions DLC area of Forza Horizon 4!

Thanks! So far, this Hudson Hornet is the oldest in my NASCAR collection alone! To make it more if a true "stock car", I did an engine swap, shoving in a huge 7.0L V8 (originated from a 1966 Ford GT40 Mk.II) and souped that engine up to the point of producing up to 937 horsepower at 7,500 rpm! She runs like a charm! This Hudson Hornet race car can do 0 to 60 in 6.594 seconds, 0 to 100 in 12.293 seconds, and reach a top speed of up to 201.7 mph!

@@ronthefuture8827 Thanks Ron! Glad you like it! I happened to have utilized sound effects not just from other racing games, but also a sniper rifle firing sound (for the backfiring) as well. And about the crashing sound heard whenever the Hudson Hornet bumps into another car (the one with a distinctive glass shatter heard immediately after impact), I happen to know PLENTY about it! While I have always known this sound byte from the PC game "Driver: You Are The Wheelman", I also am aware that it was heard in numerous car chase movies from the 1970s and 1980s. So far, I have found 35 titles of movies/TV shows that it was heard in, examples including "Vanishing Point" (1971), "The Seven-Ups" (1973), "Cannonball" (1976), "The Driver" (1978), "Commando" (1985), "Mischief" (1985), "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" (1988), and more. I even made it available for download from freesound dot org right here: freesound.org/people/77Pacer/sounds/425275/

Indeed! I added a sniper rifle firing sound for a dramatic effect for the engine backfiring. It usually happens when the fuel-air ratio is heavily rich in fuel. As a result, any unburnt fuel ignites in the exhaust pipe.

Any time! My late Dad was a mechanic at FedEx from August 1997 until his passing in April 2020, so I know some stuff about mechanical workings of automobiles. Glad you like it! Very interesting! I was especially impressed by how accurately I recreated the Hudson Hornet that I have in my collection (the one seen in the camera rotation intro that soon transitions to the Forza Horizon 4 gameplay footage). Essentially, the Hot Wheels car in real life and the in-game car is supposed to be the same car.
