Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island Nassau Bahamas | An In Depth Look Inside 

I was at this hotel last week and thought they had great food, beverages, and entertainment. The drawbacks are that there are no shops in the hotel. Across the street is a very small overpriced convenience store that has some gift items like shirts, hats, magnets, and mugs. A cab to a nearby shopping area or the Atlantis will cost $10 oneway. A cab to the downtown part of Nassau like Bay Street will be $20 one way. As you can see cabs are very expensive. I was in Nassau 20 years ago and it was much more reasonably priced. The convenience store also has personal care items, snacks etc. but very overpriced. I felt the hotel was somewhat run down and the lobby is very dismal as are the hallways. The rooms are small and the bathroom has no bath, only a shower stall. The balcony was very small also. The pools are OK but the water on the beach was rough and it was very windy most of the time. Tours are also expensive. Keep in mind that the Bahamian and US dollars are equal. I felt isolated there because there is nothing to do in the immediate area. Too far from any stores.

I’m staying here at the end of June. Can’t wait. I heard that the beach is absolutely stunning!

All in all I had a pretty good time despite some of the inconveniences there.
