Nothing worse than a stubborn part when trying to dissassemble a hot end. Well done, and some great tips here Richard!

Just upgraded my creality CR10S PRO V2 to Micro Swiss including the direct drive conversion. Definite improvement on the quality of prints. Better control on retraction plus I don't have to worry about the PTFE tube degrading over time. Just have to figure out how to adjust the nozzle offset since it's not centered on the bed. Tried M206 to adjust andd M500 code to save but it did not work. Is the stock creality fw offsets for X and Y locked?

So how did you get that stem out of the Aluminum block? (currently working on it).

I would have thought an enclosed printer like that would have come with an all-metal hot end as a default. One thing that has me confused is that manufacturers make heatbreaks from titanium as they don't conduct heat well and thus fight against heat creep but then people apply boron paste which increases thermal conductivity, this is a bit of a paradox!

I was looking at an aftermarket hot end for an Ender3v2 and I have a few questions: Is a Microswiss really worth $60? And is it worth doing if I never go over 245C anyway?
