I very much agree! Her agonizing ordeal just kept getting worse, every single time! Superb acting! I’m rooting for Lily to win the Oscar for Lead Actress!
Seriously. Mollie experiences loss after loss after loss after loss after loss in this film, and then finds out it was all because of her husband. By the end she’s just broken and empty and hollow. Lily is phenomenal in this role. She takes us on a journey.
This is the scene that locked in Lily Gladstone’s Oscar nomination. A heartbreaking, phenomenal performance. I know one day she will win one of those things.
This scene for me is the worst, the most harrowing I've ever seen in a film based on real events. I can only imagine waking up in the middle of the night by an explosion, then wondering whose house was blown because you know most of the people living there, going out of the house seeing people running to certain direction where the blast came from and finally realizing it's the house of someone you know. It's too hard to digest this scene, this just looks almost real 😢
This scene was just so heartbreaking. It’s trauma the most because Mollie lost her sisters and mothers. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love. I felt bad that Lily didn’t win the Oscar. She did a wonderful job as an actress and she was a perfect choice as Mollie. I love her with all my heart. This movie is one of my favorite Scorsese’s film ever made.
Don’t get me wrong, Lily Gladstone’s performance in this movie was amazing. However, her character could of been played by any actress, Emma Stone is the only actress that can Bella Baxter good
My uncle and I were watching this movie and during this scene before the bomb went off, an old man fell asleep and started snoring very loudly in front of us-I’m guessing you know how he woke up
And Leo’s acting here is so powerful. It almost looks like there’s a part of Ernest that wishes Reta survived. By the time he sees the violence, and Mollie’s agony, he’s fully aware that he has become a monster. We can never sympathize with him, but we see that he at least realizes that what has happened could never possibly be the right thing, no matter what his uncle says.
