I hate this fire occurred on Mother’s Day. Y’all did do a good job exitingishing the fire….can’t imagine how hot it was in that house. God Bless Y’all!

I am surprised they let the onlookers stand so close to the house. With the possibility of an explosion, you think they'd have them stand farther away.

I'm not sure about TFD, but TPD has a policy that basically says If you get hurt while gawking, that's your problem. 😂

@@tigard375 no that doesn't make sense ... one goal at an emergency scene is to NOT add to it... definitely would be best for all if they'd keep folks back a safe distance... especially if there were no victims to begin with, but idiot gawker gets hurt and now rescue crews have to divert their attention to the injured knucklehead instead of tending to the burning building... a bad scene made worse... again, best to keep them dumbbells back so they don't cause even MORE trouble

Does this fire department have any Rehab Units? Those crews, sat on the grass, looked pretty drained.

Hopefully no one was home at the time of the fire and that there were no injuries to anyone who was involved with this incident. Excellent knock down guys. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

For sure, I arrived about a minute after the first due unit and walked about a block. By the time I got there, as you can see, they already had lines stretched and were beginning to make entry to begin a search. TFD is definitely a hardworking well trained department.

Thanks for the video. I watch fire videos quite often but first time seeing one of yours. Nice to know someone in the local area doing fire vids. Do you know any other local people doing fire videos? Great job by the TFD, thanks guys for your service.

Attic smoke was very worrisome but abated quicky with the interior attack. Seemed risky but worked.

LAFD would have, by rule, opened up that entire roof before water was even on the fire. These guys knocked the attic without having to do that. I always wonder if automatically doing vertical ventilation is good policy or not all it’s cracked up to be.

@harvynussbaum5182
@harvynussbaum5182 Год назад
I believe it is not always cracked up to be the best. LA is living a few years behind the times in my opinion. Remember they have wooden ladders, no. Waterways on their areas and think they need to vent even a building that has self Vented.
@ronjohnson1800
@ronjohnson1800 Год назад
Actually looks like it was venting pretty well on its own via the attic vent on the front of the house. Don’t really know how well it’s burning at arrival as when the video starts there’s water on the fire.., also helps that’s there’s not 10 guys standing around waiting for an assignment
@nikfred4
@nikfred4 Год назад
If you mean LAFD would have sent a truck company to the roof to actually perform vertical ventilation (rather than sending a guy through an exterior window into “zero visibility”) then yeah, I guess LAFD “IS” all it’s “Cracked up to be”…

No roof venting? Hmmmm, could have used it. Ladder looked pretty towards the end. Better use of its crew to open up the roof. Ahhhh, but what do I know, only 26 years on a 100' TDA stick in an old northeast city.

Looks like they got the fire out just fine without roof venting. Roof venting isn’t necessary in every fire.

E18 parked very badly - blocking the truck for roof access, and if that car's brakes fail it would roll back and hit the engine - I have seen it nearly cause a truck to turn over!
@eriksand9262
@eriksand9262 Год назад
The truck was parked close enough for roof access. They probably wouldn’t even have used the aerial ladder for roof access sense it’s just one story, they probably would just throw ground ladders.
@jmWhyMe
@jmWhyMe Год назад
@@eriksand9262 in this case , yes ground ladders would have been fine. But it's not a reach issue, it's an obstruction issue. The geometry is such that the stick would have come really close to, if not hit the ladder rack on the engine HAD they decided to use the Tower to access the roof for some reason. NEVER block the truck's access - the engine can work from anywhere unless they are using their deck gun, but they were not in position for that either.
