Speaking from someone who is a HUGE raspberry fan, we have just dug out all our raspberries and given them away to new homes as they just ruined our garden and veg plot. Trust me, they will take over your garden and appear in places miles away from where you plant them. And they are huge - they will block your view to the greenhouse. So I would plant them somewhere out of sight and not in a prime location, and somewhere that won't block light to other plants. Just my advice from experience.

If you want to look at that and the process PATRICIA BRIGHT and her THE BREAK PLATFORM talks about it all the time. Patricia has loads of investment properties and she talks real figures. Don’t actually think Lydia owns any BTL properties (at least she never talks about it). But Patricia is your go to for all finance, investments, BTL investments, buying properties, etc.

(which I imagine are rented out) it would just be so interesting to hear about it all and listen to how it all came about and everything. You have to seal the kitchen floor if you dont say u spill red wine it will stain. Just get honed natural stone sealer. It will still have the same look will just be repellent of spills etc.

Tile floors are incredibly high maintenance. That grout will be black in about 2 years as will all the imperfections in the tiles, but it seems Lydia is happy with that look.

I don’t like it. Before it was so much brighter, lighter and so much more beautiful. Now everything seems so dark, heavy and almost sad.. but of course that’s only imo - she is the one who has to like it.

One piece of advice I would give to new viewers...DO NOT get too attached to any piece of furniture, a wall color, a door color, a rug, a light fixture, any artwork, table styling or any furniture layout LOL. As soon as I fall in love with something out it goes. But so far, I usually love whatever is next just as well.

Love the kitchen floor, looks fab. I've got a holiday cottage in Hampshire, with stone floors, I have them professionally cleaned once a year and resealed. It doesn't make them look shiny, but what it does do is make me feel like I've just had new floors put down and I like that feeling. You go girl, with all your inspirations.

I hope I don’t get a lot of flack for saying this, because I am really am a fan of Lydia’s... but I have to say, I’m not a fan of the new kitchen floor. The color doesn’t go well with the new paint colors. Every time I see it, it comes off as too orange against the wall paint. For the country aesthetic she’s going for, I think the wood flooring that used to be in the hallways would look better. I loved the (wood) hall floors! I feel the wood would look gorgeous with the new wall cladding, and with the new light fixtures, as well as the chandelier. I like the new wall paint color (although I really loved the soft gray that was going on before), but I just can’t get past the “orangey” color of the floors against the putty color of the walls, and the island color.. Just my humble opinion as a retired professional interior designer. 😊. LOOOOVE the new carpet in the lounge!

Second lockdown birthday for me today. 🥳 I've had a blueberry cake delivered at home from my parants, chocolate bars from friends and fancy tea from a mate. And now this! If you love raspberries, maybe think about just planting a bush in the ground in your woodland somewhere and let it take over instead of putting it in a bed. Because raspberry bushes (and strawberries, blueberries, blackberries etc.) if allowed to grow unhindered by a bed get HUGE! I have strawberry and raspberry bushes on my land (50 acres in Canada) and the bushes are massive! How magical would berry bushes in the woodland be?!

I don’t think truer words have been spoken than when Lydia mentioned speaking to people now has such more meaning than prior to Covid! I work from home so I really don’t interact with people unless I’m going out for errands and it’s just special to be able to speak with people face to face (socially distanced and with masks of course)

Be careful with the Raspberry plants. They spread - so you might want to put them in a place where you don't mind them spreading.

I don’t think they did a good job on the grout. And, I’ve never heard of leaving the tiles for the customer to clean up after grouting. But, the end result will be beautiful!

Kitchen looks absolutely FAB! Note of warning on raspberry plants, they are like mint (or bamboo) and will run everywhere - make sure you plant in containers to curtail where they spread. Very jealous of your greenhouse, garden goals.

The tile is a warm color and the paint is cool tones so it really hits your brain as not flowing.

It’s too late now but if you have to grout anything else have then mix a grout sealer in with the grout. It works so much better than trying to top seal it. I have 2 different showers in my house and 1;was done corectly with the sealer mixed in the grout and the other was a painted on grout

I think that is a Crocus that has grown in your garden bed. It is a bulb and will return every spring. You can transplant them in the fall. I love bulbs for that reason and Crocus are the most beautiful first sign of Spring. Your garden looks lovely. Truly beautiful and well done!

Everything looks just FABULOUS Lydia! Also I think Anne with an E is the best Canadian Production ever! It’s the most uplifting program I’ve seen in ages after which I only want to watch shows that make me feel the way Anne with an E does. Plus the iconic Canadian band, The Tragically Hip’s ‘Ahead by a Century’ theme song is so fitting for this show. It’s too bad that CBC and Netflix couldn’t find solid ground in order to achieve a highly desirable season 4. 😢🥺 We just have to be grateful for the exquisite 3 that we got. 😍

See if your Decorator has a Trade Acct, She might be able to order the table you want for your greenhouse. The grout will still need to be sealed. Dog wee in unsealed grout is not ideal- Don't learn the hard way like we did. The House Facelift is looking Amazing! 😍 XOXO from Montana

I love the view of the kitchen but I also instantly thought the white ceiling should be painted the same colour as the vaulted part, to me it chops off instead of making the whole area cohesive...I'm completely in love with the changes.

Hi Lydia, loved the vlog. My husband is a lighting design engineer and he says that LED lights don’t always work well with a dimmer. They’re not compatible apparently. Looking forward to seeing the end result! 👍🥰

I don’t understand your looking for another house??? Your selling this one after you put so much into it??? You’re going to have peppers coming out of your ears but you can chop them up and freeze them for soups and stews. Check out the Garden Answer here on You Tube, she shows you how to soak your dahlia tubers for a while before planting and then plant them very good information.

I live in PEI (the smallest province in Canada) where the author of anne of green gables, lucy maud grew up. I never knew how big of a deal it was until I met people who would come from all over the world to visit here just for the love of a fictional character. I love living here and if you ever get the chance I highly recommend visiting.

Anne with an E is based on the Anne in Green Gables book series from Prince Edward Island in Canada. I grew up in a small town in Quebec as an English minority in a French province. Many of the teachers at the school I attended were from Prince Edward Island and we read the series in our literature class. The series does not disappoint.

Yeah on pictures it sure does. But in motion it does look much nicer since it isn’t shiny anymore. Not sure about the color though. Seems quite yellow.

Kitchen’s looking great, cannot wait to see it all finished. It’s a great idea to buy a holiday home, I certainly would if circumstances allowed - we’ve not been able to have holidays together for several years. The floor looks great, what a difference with it all flowing through to the entry and hall, the paneling and paint colour, perfect - looking much more like a country home. The only changes that are not my style are the new lights over the island and in the lounge. I don't get it that some people can't see the difference! One of our dogs always tells us when he wants to go out, even though we have a doggy door... think he just wants to make sure we know, so he gets a treat! 🐶🐶

I loved Anne of E! I watched it a while ago but hearing you speak about it makes me want to watch it again! The music was fantastic too, really captured the emotion and drama.

Anne with E is sooo good! Each episode just keeps getting better and better. Wishing they would make more. Love seeing your greenhouse and how much fun you’re having with it. I’m spending a lot of time in mine as well. Thanks for the inspiration and all the ideas. Are those clay pellets? The kitchen floor is beautiful! Have you considered painting your electric covers the wall color? Just a thought. It’s all beautiful!

So agree! In addition with Jonathan Crombie as Gilbert, Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla and Richard Farnsworth as Matthew. Sadly we lost Jonathan in 2015! , too young! This was really the best Anne of Green Gables production!

I absolutely love the more rustic natural stone kitchen floor, great choice! I also love raspberries on everything, but know nothing about planting them, so I will be learning along with you. I am so excited to see how the garden transforms this year. So exciting. Anne with an E is great, frankly I love everything Anne of Green Gables...the books and the original series. You might want to check them out too.

Hi Lydia have you thought to put a large rug into your lounge room of course only natural it looks beautiful but I think it needs a large rug to finish and make it even more cosy underneath your coffee table. 🥰

Does it get better? I watched 3/4 of episode 1 last night and had to turn it off as it seemed too OTT and Anne did nothing but have strop after strop.

I love Anne from Green Gables but I love the original series so much more than this new one. I grew up on that so i guess that is also one of the reasons I am so used to it that somehow this new one does not measure to the original.

I like both series! For me its kinda like the more the merrier! Hehe! I kinda think of it like all of the different Pride & Prejudice versions or the different versions of Little Women. I just love watching all of the variations and seeing how each director/actress/actor interprets things differently!

Anne with an E is one of my favorite shows of all time! The production team and show runner are absolutely underrated, Moira Walley-Beckett (the show runner) actually wrote the highest rated episode of TV (for Breaking Bad) and it's criminal that Anne with an E was not nominated for more awards during it's airing. They had an all woman writing team, including Black and Indigenous writers for seasons 2 and 3 in order to portray those storylines in an inclusive manner. It's such a shame that it was cancelled prematurely. The show runner had 5 seasons planned. CBC and Netflix split right before it would be renewed for a fourth season and the everyone was blindsided by the announcement.

I live on Prince Edward Island so I was floored to hear you mention Anne haha. You should check out some cottages on the Island for a little getaway home! When the world goes back to normal come stay at the Great George Hotel, see Anne of Green Gables (musical) and fall in love with our gorgeous little corner of the world. (Also there’s no COVID community transmission here and 130ish cases total since the beginning) Did I sell you on it?? Lol

I love what you’ve done with your kitchen!!! I’m not a fan of that chrome/marble/chandelier shiny hotel vibe that everyone seems to love these days. You can’t beat a bit of worn out stone tiles and second hand furniture. Can’t wait to see the new table! I think some bookshelves (like in the office) would make the living room look more personal and homely. Just a thought. But love the warmer tones in there. 😊👍

It's set in 18th Century Cornwall and follows the life of Ross Poldark as he navigates family, new and lost loves, running a dilapidated estate and as the seasons go on London as well. His wife Demelza is one of the best series characters I have watched for a while, and their relationship is just fab.

I like the kitchen not sure about the lights they look small but maybe will work once is all finish. I agree the wood in the dining room makes it more cozy and love the floor ☺️
