The actresses who play older Alicient & Rhynaera were cast first and then they found younger actresses that resembled them. The next 4 episodes are so good and fairly dramatic with some incredible acting

Targaryens are not fireproof. Dany was the exception not the rule. Note that Daemon has burns on his back. Not to mention Laena burns to death.

@@morpheusjones4753when she burned Kahl drogo after he died along with her baby, and placed her dragons eggs on the pyre she was unknowingly casting bloodmagic. So it gave her a connection to the dragons as they came to life in the eggs and gave her abilities. Targeryans have natural dragon like abilities since old Valeria when the blood mages bound the dragons blood to their lines and made them dragon riders. But no they are not fire proof, they are heat resistant though.

@@morpheusjones4753 As noted by others, the hatching of the eggs on Drogo's pyre was blood magic, and that magic was what protected her from the flames. She had a high tolerance for heat (as shown with several earlier scenes with the scalding bathwater and dragon eggs heated on the coals), but she's not naturally fireproof.

Targaryens can be burned, that was a one time thing in the book with Daenerys because of the magic during that ritual. She quite literally brought dragons back after so many years, like in the book her hair was burned off. In the series, they changed it to where she was always immune to fire, I can't remember for sure but I think it was a one time event in the book.

Viserys pretty much sees all. Regarding Rhaenyra, he wants her to be happy, and is more than willing to allow her the freedom she wants as long as she maintains the pretense that her children are offspring of the royal pairing. He assumes that as long as he also maintains the pretense, everyone else will simply fall in line. He's a bit delusional on this count.

22:40 it's true she only wears green now especially for public events, etc. and if you notice her children also wear green, which is uncommon because once a woman marries, she's mean to wear her husband's house colors and in the earlier episodes Alicent did begin wearing red/black but ever since Rhaenyra's wedding it's been only green

Regarding the actress change: I was concerned, after the stellar job that Milly did in the role of Rhaenyra, that she would be a tough act to follow, but Emma hit the ground running and absolutely owns the role going forward. I doubt that even an "aged up" Milly would have been anywhere near that convincing in the birth scene. As is usually the case in these "Game of Thrones" universe shows, the casting and acting is spot-on.

I initially found the change of actresses jarring, but I've grown accustomed to the new ones and they are phenomenal actresses - they also end up playing mothers of (young) adult children (although Rhaenyra still has some young ones), which would've been stretching credulity for the ones we started with.

It's made more apparent in the show because of the hair color... in the books, Rhaenys had black hair with a silver streak (due to her half-Baratheon parentage), so in the books there would have been plausible deniability on the dark hair. Not so much with the silver-haired Rhaenys.

The hair thing itself is weak. Like the Goat show, there is a major plot with that as evidence. In the books the stronger evidence is the boys’ noses and eyes, along with hair. Noses were key though as they had noses like Ser Harwin.

this story is just a heartbreaking one and the core of it comes down to sexism, Alicent represents the woman who did what she was told and expected to do growing up, falling a victim of the sexist system that has been put in place. While Rhaenyra was always the more free-spirit who was more likely to rebel against the unfair system. This becomes more clear as it goes on, it's really like the foundation of everything that has happened and happens.
