The reason why Allicent wants to find Aegon before Otto is that Otto wants to have everyone killed. She needs the influence of Aegon so that he does not have Rhaenyra killed as soon as he becomes king. The only stupid thing is that while Allicent is sitting in the carriage with Aegon, Aegon is not interested in what Allicent has to say. He doesn't listen at all. The only thing he cares about is being loved. Which he ultimately gets from the people. Helena has foreseen that the dragon will break out with Rheanis. She said "the beast beneath the floor". Helena is a walking spoiler in this show.

reason to be on rhaenyra’s side: she was the chosen heir to the throne and overall a better person than aegon. reason to be on aegon’s side: he’s a man and traditionally men are chosen leaders. for me it was an easy choice to pick rhaenyra.

the intro is supposed to show the "bloodline" flowing, building the family tree lines connecting, going down to the children and all but at the point you get that and try to understand which person a circle is supposed to be and where in the tree we are, it has already moved on to the next generation not like in the GoT intro where it literally shows the names of the places; the HotD intro you have to decipher live while it happens and moves faster than your deciphering

Loved the scene where Alicent puts herself between her children and a literal dragon like, if you want to burn them you first have to go through me. She's sometimes bad at showing them love, but mamabear will always be out to protect their childrens lives.

14:40 i'm late but Rhaenys said that more of showing Alicent, she never puts her own wants or ambitions to the forefront. She's constantly doing what a man wants. She has spent her childhood obeying her father's every wish, she has now spent her adulthood doing what her father and the King wants and preparing her male children to usurp their sister's throne. She has never once actually done what SHE wants or wishes for. A lot of women, even if they had no chance of getting the throne, may imagine a reality of them getting it or a idea of how they could go for it. Cersei Lannister is a example, she's a woman, who would've done any and everything to keep her state of power or reach it. Alicent is someone who never even gave herself the chance to consider it for herself.

I don’t entirely agree. Her intentions might have been “pure” in her mind, but she also knew the chaos it would cause. Otherwise she wouldn’t have crowned him on the sly but rather brought the issue to court. You can’t be half right or half noble when it’s convenient. Either you are, or you aren’t.
