In House of the Dragon season 2, episode 7, more dragons will be claimed, and Rhaenyra Targaryen will gain more dragonriders to her side. The real Sowing of the Seeds begins, during which many dragonseeds die, but Hugh claims the dragon Vermithor, and Ulf claims the dragon Silverwing.
In season 2, episode 7 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, we will also see Rhaena Targaryen claiming Sheepstealer, a wild dragon; Aemond Targaryen using the sword Blackfyre to get rid of some people at King’s Landing; Daemon Targaryen overseeing the army of rivermen he gathered at Harrenhal; and Alicent Hightower deciding to pay a visit to Rhaenyra Targaryen at Dragonstone.

Nah. Daemon will support Rhaenyra because he wants the throne for himself and being her husband is the easiest way to make sure that he will be the king and his blood will be on the throne later no matter what. (His daughters are engaged to those children of Rhaenyra that aren't his).

Daemon being sad about old lord Tully dying is actually a great parallel for how guilty he feels about what he used to think about Viserys. When he first gets to Harrenhal he says that even if lord Tully is weak and frail that his lords should respect him and then later he suggests to Oscar to put him out of his misery to become the next lord. It's the exact same conflicted thoughts he had about his brother and he can finally feel shame about them when he realizes that Viserys loved him even if he knew what he thought about him. 😢

how was it epic? dragged out subplot of daemon, Rhaenyra as usual complaining she can't do anything, alicent said good luck to lil bro etc etc. s1 ended with a big death and yet the aftermath is sooo... dull? don't know, for me personally this season was a let down, season 1 i loved it and it set up for a big fight while season 2 instead of the big fight, we get more preparation and honestly that wouldn't be a problem but the subplots imo are just worn out and boring.

It is astonishing that the show is able to stretch the story and drag it along to finale with little to no action. If the show runner keeps the pacing this slow, I am sure HoD will be 8-10 seasons.

nah its not there fault, yk the books if they stick to it will just take 2 seasons to finish, its good they r stretching cause last 2 seasons (i am guessing there will be a 4th) will be quite fast paced, there will be another time jump i believe and its good they made it a little longer, however the sowing of the seeds should have started in ep 6 itself, cause there is no way the dragon seeds attack or go to kings landing with rhaenyra just after 1 ep of claming, they need some time riding the dragon no?

Very optimistic to assume we'll see Rhaenyra reach Kings Landing this season. We still have The Battle of the Gullet, the alliance with Pentos and the Gay Abandon's capture, and much more. The next episode will largely be dedicated to Ulf, Hugh, Rhaena and Addam and then there's only one epsiode left. It's more likely the season will end with the capture of Gay Abandon and set up the start of S3 with The Battle of the Gullet, then Rhaenyra takes Kings Landing mid-way through the series and, optimistically, Aemond/Daemon close out S3.

There are interviews with GRRM & Condal somewhere here in youtube. George talks about how the source material was written by 3rd party pro-greens & NOT reliable. So he pitched the DoD to HBO bcoz George wants the more accurate version of events to be told in a tv series format. GRRM also personally chose Ryan Condal as showrunner & admits he is fully aware of all the various reasons why additions/revisions/deletions are done during production.

What bullshit pacing this show has?!! Nothing ever happens. The only important thing that happened this season was so far was the Battle of Rook’s Rest. Otherwise, they’re just passing time. They really clearly lack enough material for this show. We just see empty stupid episodes where nothing really happens, just filler stuff to run down time. So far, only the battle at rook's rest was worth an actual episode, and the one where the twins fought and maybe the first episode, the last two episodes could have easily been combined into one. House of the Dragon is quite far off when compared to Game of Thrones, very far off.

@@jkbzz well game of thrones was very slow paced too first 3 or 2 seasons? and the prob with house of the dragon is that it just had one book, if they r to stick to the books the so called material there will literally just be 2 seasons, cause the book is a history book and doesnt have detailed drama , it will be too fast paced, the thing is the last 2 seasons will be the real shi ( battle of gullest, aemond v daemon, battle of tumbletown part 1 and 2, rhaenyras reign and how everything goes to shit in the end

Not even for a single second have I ever succumbed to the idea that Laenor is "dead" because Seasmoke has a new rider. I know they share like a psychic bond with each other. But Laenor is thousands of miles away in Essos, & didn't ride Seasmoke out there. So to me Seasmoke has always been like a dog waiting for his owner to return, whilst slowly burning the candle on their bond and desiring someone new .

But maybe the actual ambush/attack happens in s3 opening. Jacerys is supposed to go help/rescue BUT low key hoping he's delayed until s3 ep4. We can't have too many deaths in a season premiere 😖😖😖

Their dragons are the most powerful claimed dragons after Vhaga. At the end of the day they don’t need Rhaenyra or anybody to rely on for power. It was a terrible idea to let two strangers like that to claim them.

Rhaenyra deserves to be betrayed by Hugh and Ulf. When you are so stupid to give 2 complete strangers 2 of the biggest dragons (beside Vhagar), all that is left for you is to pray they don’t betray you, which why they wouldn’t at any first sight of a better offer they get. They just met her, they don’t have any loyalty to her and don’t need to feel any loyalty to her, she didn’t do anything for them, they claimed those dragons. On top of that Rhaenyra refusing to give Ulf and Hugh castles, even small ones, is straight up insult since they ride some of the biggest and oldest dragons, after all why shouldn’t they be lords… Rhaenyra makes more and more stupid decisions… totally deserves to be betrayed

Nah you mean to tell me that Rhaena claims Sheepstealer just like that? That's even worse than replacing Nettles. What about the grooming? Bringing him sheeps everyday to get friendship points? What about that???? With Seasmoke going all Pokemon trainer "I choose you" we would have had a great range of how dragon bonds/claims go. Nettles bringing Sheepstealer actual sheeps everyday to get him close to bond with him is the best part about Nettles character.

Well GRRM said so himself the source material is NOT reliable, that's why he pitched DoD to HBO, so a more accurate telling of events can finally be told in a tv series format. Rhaenyra won’t take kings landing in episode 8. She doesn’t take kings landing until way after the battle of the gullet which won’t happen till season 3. It would be way too soon for her to take kings landing.

No it won’t. This guy has no clue what he is saying. Battle of the gullet won’t be till season 3. And Rhaenyra won’t take kings landing till the end of season 3 or beginning of season 4. The triarchy isn’t gonna muster an entire fleet in one episode just to make the finale episode a big battle. Plus we would have seen filming of the fleet battle and that never happened.

Oof... I do hope that Nettles being omitted is wrong. I don't think it's gonna go well with the book fans. Personally I never liked the character, but that was a big part of Daemon's story & it was quite intriguing. Majorly deviating from source material on GoT shows has a rich history of ending in anything ranging from annoying plot holes to disasters of epic proportions.

Alys Rivers already seem to have taken over the "close to Daemon" part of the story MINUS the supposed sexy times with her... which the unreliable book also says nettles might be daemon's bastard daughter. I never liked nettles from the rumor-filled book + GRRM said the tv series is a more accurate version of events, then I prefer Rhaena being given a bigger story, instead of adding another character who may or may not betray Queen Rhaenyra by having s*x with her supposed father 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️ I know George likes to be pornographically graphic & detailed in his books. But I'm fine with no nettles ESPECIALLY IF the show writers found a better way to tell that story by elevating an almost useless character from the book BUT plays a very important role AFTER the civil war ends ~~ this version makes more sense.

I do know that he repeatedly stated that 'show canon is different to book canon'. And if they are doing away with entire characters (Nettles, Maelor, etc.)... How accurate can it be? 😆 Apparently Martin's also been complaining on NotaBlogs last week that dragons are NOT nomadic. They travel with riders & sometimes take short trips to old haunts like Volantis & Valyria, but their lairs are at Dragonstone + they hunt in warmer climes. That sounded like a direct dig at HotD if their version of Sheepstealer turns out to be an unregistered hermit lizard from the cold Vale. Anyhoo... I do find this Daemon+Alys bond weird, considering it's meant to be Aemond+Alys & she apparently knows how Daemon+Aemond's story gonna end. Awkward!..😅 But I do enjoy all 3 characters, so I'll take it as long as it's interesting.
