Daemon didn't want to kill the Blackwood. That's why the Tully lord made him do it. The Blackwood was the only Riverlord that Daemon had under his control. By killing him, the Tully lord got rid of any power Daemon might have had--making him have to do it, to please the other Riverlords, was just a bonus. Also Jace being the son of Rhaenyra doesn't matter. The entire show is about her getting usurped, and then Aegon getting his throne, presumably stolen, by his brother. Jace is 100% correct to be concerned, especially since he has knowledge of the Targaryen king's and most likely knows of Maegor killing his nephew Aegon. Being the heir doesn't mean shit in SOIAF, you're not guaranteed anything until you got the crown on your head, and you're sitting on the throne. Not to mention Jace has brown hair and has the weaker dragon.

It also was a big show of power that Oscar made Daemon serve as his executioner. As for Jace, while he is right to be concerned, it is also true that he for sure has no chance of inheriting if the Blacks loose the war, so what is necessary to avoid that must be done, even if it has unfortunate side-effects.

Honestly, i believe we underestimate the bastard problem. Remember how sansa treated jon or how she later spoke to ramsey about being a bastard and inheritance?? That was much later in time so i think people back then treated bastards far harsher than what we have seen in the show so far.

I agree about Daemon, plus it was Blackwood's fault. If Blackwood didn't parade the Black banners during their pillage of the Brackens, Daemon would have claimed plausible deniability and it would have been seen as a continuation of the Battle of the Burning Mill.

There's also the matter that Willem Blackwood is not the actual Blackwood lord, just the uncle of the actual lord (young Ben Blackwood; trust me, you're going to love that kid when he shows up) serving as regent for him. So he's expendable as an example.

Vermithor and Silverwing both are rather tolerant and accepting of humans but yeah Silverwing is by far the friendlier one. Vermithor is cool and all with people but let it be known, he ain't the one to fuck with .... bad things happen when my bronze boy is angry.

Hugh was the son of Saera, daughter of Jaehaerys. Ulf is the bastard son of Baelon, father of Viserys and Daemon. They both have the strongest blood out of the group, a more direct line to dragon riders.

Everyone is underestimating the lowborn bastards except Jace. He's right. What if they turn against the Backs? The blacks can't fight them. What if they wait out the war, let the greens and blacks kill each other and claim the throne? No one can make them fight. Jace has little brothers to protect too. Even if eveything go well like Rhaenyra wants, people thinks non-targaryen kids can be dragonriders now. This can create wars for future generations. I feel like Daemon would have taken Jace's side and argue or may be tell Rhaenyra to be careful. She's acting like this is fate or destiny that the bastards got the dragons. Religious leaders are not rational.

Loved Jace confrontation with his mother about his lineage. He knows that him being a bastard is risky and that his dark hair has people questioning his legitimacy, and he's right that if a silver haired bastard wants to press their claim it'd be easy to cast his claim to aside. Rhaenyra really should've thought twice about who she had bastards by, she should've chosen someone who at least looked Valyrian.

Oscar was the mvp of the episode. I love that the dragons pick their riders. I believe Rhaenyra told Ulf to go to Kingslanding to draw Aemond out so they could ambush him. That last shot of Rhaenyra and the 3 dragons waiting on Aemond gave me life. Loved your reaction 🖤

A dragon is like a nuke in this universe. So letting random commoners to claim one is a huge risk. Also these bastards aren't not even acknowledged by their highborn parent... They don't have bastard name (waters, rivers, snow, etc) so their loyalty or alliance is somewhat should be questioned.

Look at it from Jace’s pov. He’s has insecurities from being a bastard his whole life, primarily because of his dark hair, but him being a dragon rider was the one reassurance the he did have the blood of the dragon. Now there’s other bastards claiming bigger and badder dragons AND they have silver hair. If one of them were to rise up and try to make a claim, they’d have more backing than him because they look the part. Unknown low born claiming dragons more ferocious than the Queen and her Heir’s is cause for concern, I think.

Fun Fact: A common use for eyepatches wasn't actually to cover a missing eye, but to keep one eye adjusted to the dark for when switching between the deck and below deck. So the eyepatch was working as intended

One eye having to adjust with the light is in fact exactly why eyepatches were worn in the first place! It was usually very dark below deck compared to out on the open sea during the day, so to quickly be able to see an eyepatch was used so one eye didn't have to adjust to the dark.

I am glad they give Nettle’s position to Rhaena’s, You can see she wants to be more useful for Rhaenyra because Lady Jayne Arryn was supposed to send 15,000 soldiers for the Black’s cause for large dragon with a rider for protection to the Vale, Rhaenyra send two but still hatchlings, so she wasn’t satisfied so Rhaena is determined to become Vale’s dragon by finding the dragon in the Vale (Sheepstealer) and tamed it, Then the Vale will finally send their soldiers for the Blacks just as Rhaenyra requested in their deal

Its no controversial opinion that the last two episodes were very slow. Season 2 has covered barely 20 pages of the book, and has wasted a lot of time on repetitive scenes with rhaenyra, alicent, and the Hull brothers. It might be some budget restrictions, but the way its looking they'll need like 5 or maybe 6 seasons instead of the planned 4.

Right now, aren't there more dragons than known Targaryens? We know of Raenyra, Daemon, Jaceras, Joffrey, Daemon's 2 daughters, Raenyra's 3 younger kids, Aegon, Aemond, the 3rd brother, Helaena, Aegon's 2 kids, plus Ulf and Hugh - that's 17. We know of 7 black dragons, plus the 2 in the vale, baby Aegon's, the 4 eggs, and the 2 in the den. We know of 3 green dragons, 4th maybe. So 19 dragons to 17 Targaryens. Can't imagine there will be many more since the kids are all busy doing other things to have kids.

No, Jave is just talking about highborn vs lowborn. Jace is highborn nonetheless. Bastard or not, he’s a highborn on his fathers side too. His attitude to the lowborn is a common attitude in this world that the aristocracy has and was in ours up until the Industrial Revolution when anyone could make their fortune.

George Martin said Daemon was his favorite Targaryon of them all. I think they didnt make him as likeable in the tv series and George may have wanted. Some things have to change for TV so understandable I guess

Jace's concern is legit. What he fears will exactly happen. Jace is a bastard, and he knows that. Now 2 other bastards looking more Targaryen than him have bigger dragons than him. And both will betray Rhaenyra. Feel bad for Jace. Rhaenyra is being a fool played by Mycelia.

I liked seeing aemond be a coward in the end 😂. It would've been cool if rhaenyra and her new dragon riders just went ahead and attacked aemond right then and there because if they got rid of aemond and vhagar then the greens are already over because aegon is recovering and sunfyre is injured, daemons dragon is young and helaena is someone I wouldn't put in a war.

Blackfyre rebellion , honestly that is way better in story compared to dance or conquest and is way more relevant to GOT story as it would end with the war of nine penny kings when aerys would have befriended young tywin

Hugh is Rhaenyra and Daemon's cousin via Daemon and Viserys' aunt and Ulf is Rhaenyra's uncle Viserys and Daemon's half-brother via their father. The only reason they're supposedly "unworthy" is the marital status of their parents which is just stupid, biologically they are all close family. A lot is made of Jace and his brothers but legally they are legitimate sons of Leanor. They were legitimized both by Leanor declaring them so as their father, by the heads of the respective Houses Targaryen and Velaryon, and also by royal declaration from the mouth of the King.

Addam the one who claimed Seasmoke was not the son of Corlys. Addam was a bastard of Laenor. Which makes Addam as Corlys' Grandchild. Addam's mom was Corlys and Laenor's sidechick. There was a time when Laenor just reached puberty, Corlys brought his son to his sidechick(Addam and Alyn's mom) in order for his son Laenor to get experience. It created a seed which is Addam. Laenor felt disgusted with it so his preference was turned towards men. So Alyn is like Addam's half brother and uncle. That is the reason why Addam has a Targaryen blood which he acquired from his father Laenor who is the son of Rhaenys.
