Tbf I do kind of understand their POV. If you don't know the source material you can be forgiven for thinking that this episode was supposed to be a lot more action-packed base on how the S1 finale ended. But I do get after 2 years why this episode was recap-heavy.

Fire ane Blood was a pretty interesting read. It covers the time from Aegon's conquest up to the aftermath of this TV show (book is the basis of this TV show). It's written like a history book written by Maesters that may or may not be bending the truth. I suspect GRRM will write the second Fire and Blood book before he ever releases the Winds of Winter, which is the sixth book and is incredibly behind schedule.

She didn't need to give up her sons eye. The king said to leave it alone. Also he was talking all that stuff and fighting when he lost the eye. In his own words it was an even trade. So miss me with that.

So basically they left kings son maimed for life but there was no punishment of any kind. King did not care, Rhaenyra wanted additionaly to "sharply question" him about ( true) rumors about her kids. Favourtism at its finest. Aemond said what he said to difuse the situation and save his mother who ve lost it. I am not either team, although both have interesting complex characters😆✨️

Not many people noticed but rhaenyra looks right at daemon when she said she wants aemond and the actress said she was talking directly to him. Also have actor had a wig in for season 1 because he cut his hair lol they let him wear his regular hair now.

Aight dammit I sat thru the first season so i hope they really ramp up the storytelling this season! I want some clever dialogue , some witty characters, good twists and turns. I wanna see some tits bouncin and some balls a swangin! This is Game of Thrones babaaaaaay!!! sort of

IMHO, Formal, I do think that coming off the high of the re-watch of Season 1 to this (basically set up episode) may be the source of why you felt like you did. I know there should have been more action for you (to which I agree), but I'm guessing that drastic drop-off was too stark of a difference. There was no re-watch for me, and I felt that outside of needing 1 more high action scene earlier in the episode, it was overall pretty decent. But we are allowed to have our own criticisms. 💯
