I think with house vernius you should think of your patent more as a way to regulate the path others take and consider the money a secondary effect. For example, by putting a patent on early military tech, you can slow down early aggression. Early military already drains your economy putting a 1k hurdle on the tech hurts and on top of that it's 500 gold less of troopers banging on your doorstep
That's really smart! You could do the same with the statecraft tree to prevent assasination defenses. I think there's a lot of trolling potential.@@Immortalits
I agree. You get the ability to skip a whole research requirement, I see no reason why you wouldn't grab an early military tech skip to stop others from pushing hard early aggression.
Was a fun game! My mental was drained after multiple engagements ping-ponging between you and the Atriedes, biggest thing I've taken from this game is to be more aware of villages near Rally Points during assassination's. Gg's and let the spice flow!
Getting a single rail drone as part of your first units I find really ups your kill speed while not costing too much since they shouldn’t be getting damaged.
When you have that advisor, try to mix building types in the districts of the main base. If you are getting lots of red buildings to begin with, spread them in different rows, so you get more knowledge (from the advisor) AND a bonus to research speed. You can get 9 knowledge from main base on top of 3 x tier one bonuses for the three relevant techs (60% total?). Later on when you have most of the important techs, you can swap the buildings around to get the tier 2/3 district bonuses, at no cost besides time.
Yes, that's a really good tips for Bolig Avati. And I'm not sure, but if you got 50 % off buildings later in the game, can you dismantle the main base building for a full refund and build it again immediately for half price (only costing time, as you said)?
The interactions between you and Lanky is gold. I never get these wholesome interactions in games. Making me want to buy Dune even more now but it's so different from the Dune I played as a kid.
Ooof. Been loving the development of Dune. Started out with everything devolving into a beautiful slugfest as everyone figured out the game. Now we have a**a**inations, runs on the stockmarket, robot men. It's all just fantastic. Well maybe not the lag.
Really fun game. I should say it is very underrated for some reasons. And house Vernius seems really interesting. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful stream.
Vernius benefits from the Embassy a lot more than the other factions. If you manage to get an Economic treaty with any one player, the Embassy nets you +10% Solari, which is really sweet. You could always give out your AI agents in exchange too.
Pro tip - obfuscate counter intelligence And try to keep as many agents assigned to the faction you're trying to assassinate as possible, as each one increases speed. That's why as your cells get cleared near the end your progress gets slowed so drastically, cuz your agent limit goes down
seems like for vernius you want to manually check villages at the start to make sure you got the right one rather than have auto explore find goodie huts
This was great! so glad you play this awesome game, not many content creators out there covering it which confuses me as I think its one of the best RTS games of recent times.
If you obfuscate a tech as Vernius, then you are the only one who can access its dependent techs (you can just skip the prerequisite). So in that game you alone can access Wonders of the Desert. Something to consider.
Gotta obfuscate counter intel. Also would be cool to see something that gives vernius a temporary (10-15 second) immunity to emp on the mech units. Maybe a hero ability or mission. Because EMP cripples the army so effectively. Only solution ive found is to feign the attack elsewhere then teleport to a boarder with the person your attacking after they popped an EMP in the first spot you hit. Little bit of deception. Teleport is by far my fav ability with them. Always feels glorious. Some creative use cases.
At 42:00 when you are curious about where the water came from, it's because you lowered the battery cost of mech units. The tech just finished so you got a shitload of water batteries back. Great content btw.
Yeah, sometimes it's quite funny how Turin reacts. I love his content, but he does not pay 100 % attention/know the game 100 %, which is totally OK. Turin: "Energy efficiency is done. (...) How did I get so much water? (...) Did I lose a village that I'm not aware of?" (He has Water batteries.) At least he understood it just a minute or something later :)
SPOILER but honestly I love that you’re willing to post losses. I feel like a lot of channels are worried they’ll get roasted if they upload Ls but this was such a fun match I’m glad we got to see it
I'm agree with your strategy to use suboids in the start of the game but you need 1 manpower building from nearly the start and quite soonish another one to reinforce those regions that you control. It's not very assumed for vernius but manpower is quite important in the first phase. Having drones on the start will drain your solaris very quickly when they are fixed after every fight.
You can fork the nodal network?! I thought you could only set up lines going from the S-Vaults. This opens up a world of options for me, I must have misunderstood the ingame descriptions.
So far it seems that Vernius' only strength, is the assassination one. Armywise is weak (EMP hurts many of its units), and has no inherent choam/hedge tools. Yeah, they can do some cool tricks with patents/obfuscate but they're not game-winning imo. I believe Vernius loses with any other faction on 1v1 (with no other players left in game); if you'd be left with Atreides in the last game, I can't see a way you could win this. The meta will certainly shift from other people/factions playing against Vernius, to counterintelligence and then it'd much harder to assassinate them.
I loved vernius gameplayed will be waiting for more I hope they can balance the emp element like giving you an unique research will make your droids have %50 less damage from the emp it is so broken right now
Maybe you want to split up your army to reduce the effectiveness of an emp bomb Instead of one big blob attack multiple place at the same time and kite their main army
What do you think guys? Will we get house Tleilaxu too? We have just folded space from Ix... Yes? How was your journey? Many machines on Ix...new machines...
I hope the player base GROW and the ranked become a thing! I dont think there is a game that unique in terms of multiplayer playstyle, I really hope it will get recognized more!
It looks like you didn't replace agents on Ecaz as they got captured, slowing down your assassination? I think you can also use the AI drones to keep progression up. Once it's started, information level is irrelevant.
Once you hit the cap the game autosells all your spice production (you can see the bar is full yellow indicating that is what is happening, even though his ratio of production/sell is not set like that). So he's not really losing much unless you really want to micro how much spice you're selling if you see the forecast for the next harvest is much better.
The assassin's have 3 abilities: 1) stealth 2) one shot a fleshy unit then die 3) resets assassination progress multiplier back to 100% when you send it to an information cell of someone you're assassinating
