Oh my goodness, thank you for bringing up that you and Joel fight before trips! That is SO me and my husband. I can always count on a fight the day we leave for a trip and always at least once in November/December. We even had a big one on my 30th birthday, ruined the entire day. But we love them (spouse, not fights)! And can't live without them.

Because we see how beautiful your family, your home, your camera life and it's nice to know you're regular people and you work hard together to have that life.Olivia breaks my heart. She tries so hard to be strong in these kinds of situations and she almost always ends up in tears but you can see her strength and how hard she tries to put that smile on.

We do too... If we get stressed we definitely start bickering with each other. Our goal lately had been to have more of a servants heart. If you are focused on making the other person happy it's much harder to fight.

I love seeing people's appreciation for handmade items. My dad has been a glass blower for 60 years. Fenton glass has such a huge history in my home state of WV.
So cool how much your family likes Fenton glass. It was made in my hometown! A lot of my family worked in the factory. Now that the factory has closed the county is considering building a brand new elementary school on the property.

you guys are so cute, thanks for keeping it real. I love the honesty and how you are open about the fact that you guys sometimes fight. People need more of this!!! It's great to show the happy side (and I love that too!) but it's incredibly valuable to see examples of people making it work in the less than perfect times, in the tense times, in grumpiness, in stress, and when you just aren't feeling it, because that's real life too. Relationships take so much work and it's good for everyone to see that sometimes you have to try really stinking hard, and that's okay, because the pay off is so so so so worth it.

Bonnie, I LOVE that Fenton Glass is special to your family!! Fenton Glass is from a very small town in WVA, Williamstown. This is where I am from! I have lived in Texas all of my married life but I so miss my small town country roots! After Fenton expanded to be on QVC channel the company took a huge hit and shut down. They have since reopened but on a much smaller scale! Hope you and Joel have an amazing week, and pray that the kids have a wonderful time! Olivia broke my heart! Thank you Bonnie for being so honest! Most people try to hide the fact they argue or fight with their spouse. I'm guilty of that. I've been married for 36 yrs and my husband and I are the same way about fighting before something big and or exciting. It seems like we always ruin the times in our lives that should be most special. I hope y'all have a great business trip, but even more, a great time together with no kiddos. I learned to late that one of the most important things in a marriage is to get some quality time away from the kids and to reconnect with your spouse. I almost teared up when you were saying goodbye to Lincoln. I have 4 kids ages 9, 6 in a few days, 3 and just turned 1 on the 20th. I would have such a hard time leaving my baby.
My husband and I do the same thing! We had a huge argument right before we moved into our new house and I felt like it ruined it !! But of course we get over it and move on! Ahhh it's so weird leaving my one two year old for a few nights. I can't imagine leaving four kids for 5 days after 10 years! good for you guys! I told myself when we just recently left our kiddo that I NEED this and that's how I was able to not be an absolute blubbering mess!
I love how real you are Bonnie. When you were talking to Joel about not fighting I could so relate because when I was married (newly divorced) it seemed whenever a holiday came up or a trip we would do the same thing, I think that is because us moms have the stress and worry of leaving our children and although we know we need a break it is still difficult for us to take time out for ourselves and holidays, well holidays can be stressful too, just the organizing of everything and wanting everybody to be happy but you really are some rreal, down to earth and honest and you guys have such good children.
