Our bathroom has more plants than towels. My wife has plants everywhere. I love it, its like taking a shower in a jungle LOL. Great video thanks for sharing
And he said he didn’t have an eye for interior decorating...lies!!! Lol on a serious note though, this is a beautiful way to upscale a small bathroom and with the color scheme and decorative elements he chose, it gives off an elegant, manly vibe. Well done Kevin 👍🏽👍🏽
All plants need light so your best options are using a moss artwork or plastic plants. If you really want living plants, replace your normal light with a grow light.
I never thought a bathroom could look so relaxing! Makes me wish I could do a transformation like this to my bathroom, but it gets no natural light - will just have to stick with the courtyard garden!
@@kitariki If you have decent outlet access and don't mind the light shift and having them on all the time, grow lights work alright... but only "alright." I found that ferns and the other "should like this humidity" plants I chose didn't like the intensity of the grow light in such a small space. (I don't have natural light right now, but only have a single outlet in the bathroom, and it's not positioned in a place that would make installing a grow light possible, so I just sulk. 😂 )
If you replace the mirror with a larger one, you will be surprised at how much bigger the room feels! I just renovated a small bathroom and it seems almost twice as large with a bigger mirror. Keep up the great work- I look forward to your videos.
If your 6'4" I can't even imagine your wingspan trying not to crash in to those shelves when you finish showering and are drying yourself or something 😂😂😂
I'm 5"4 and I would DEFINITELY knock those down. I knock my pothos down just walking towards them. Dunno what it is about pothos. Maybe it is having a windowsill full of them.
I loooove this makeover! The house I moved into had mint growing out of the lawn :S so I yanked some, put it in a little pot and have that on my shower window ledge and they do great there! I water them with my shower head while waiting for the water to heat up. :)
Botanical inspired bathroom design. is just simply amazing ! I absolutely love how the wooden shelves look on the grey and how the black hanging baskets look on the white tiles. Great choices 👍.
I love how the little ferns and tubes made the space look bigger and more inviting. I might have to try that. Maybe orchids with my north facing skylight?
Made my morning better watching this video...and yep, I hopped over to Amazon & ordered my very own propagation station, small pots & an assortment of miniature ferns - the pots & ferns will be added to Christmas gifts. Thanks so much!
Besides the plant design you have also taught me how to use that hook system. I just bought that same hook but did not understand how to install it. Thank you for your detailed description.
Wow I did not think one could do that much in such a small space but I was pleasantly surprised by the end of the video! It's almost magical how a simple plant or two can bring a space to life so much. ❤️
Half of my plants live in my bathroom, after seeing your pothos in the tub Im gonna have to do that for a couple of mine as well. Thank you for the fantastic ideas.
Thanks for the practicals for plants in a tiny bathroom. Our bathroom is tiny as well and plants will be a great addition as we are remodeling it very soon.
I love all of these wonderful ideas. I've always been wanting to add plants into my bathroom. Boy I can't wait to try a few of these wonderful ideas. Thanks for all that you do. Thanks for sharing this
Instead of screens in the bottom of the pot which can pass a lot of soil, I use cotton balls and only fines get through and of course water goes both ways. Just buy at the dollar store for minimum cost.
You need to find which wall you can take down so you can expand your bathroom. exposed pipes aren't necessarily a bad thing, could be a nice aesthetic depending on the pipe layout......
Everything Kevin got for his bathroom revamp he got from Amazon except for the two Nebia products. If you look at his description you will find a link directing you straight to each item he added.
Never thought about putting plants in my bathroom. My last one had no natural light and I did try, but everything died. This one has a frosted window that gets lots of light and a wide window sill. I could totally fit a Boston fern in there and it would be safe from my plant-ripping kitty.
LOVE the home improvement content! Little tip about watering in the shower (which you already know for sure but whatevs haha), make sure you have a proper screen over the shower drainage, I‘m having way too many problems with clogged drainage cause of all the soil that finds it‘s way out of the pots while watering haha. Also loved the skin care pep talk 💪🏼
I love plant styling videos! I was always nervous to hang plants in my shower because I didn’t think I could keep soap off of them. But I will try now!
Hi Kevin! How are you? Nice job on making you bathroom look like a secluded jungle. With watering your plants in the tube and putting outside to dry/grow, aren't you afraid of unwelcomed "house guests"? Happy Thanksgiving! Gerry HPEteacher 😎
Nice, Eric, those plants will enjoy the humidity! I have a suggestion for an episode: Transplanting really rootbound plants. Have you done that one yet?
Looks great, nice and bright with the white... great idea to integrate "cutting stations" ...never thought of that, I have a bathroom with a west facing window in the shower just begging for this kind of setup. The green of the plants and the warm tones of the wood really set your bathroom off. Great vid!
I'd love to hear you talk about your thoughts on buying houseplants at places like Home Depot vs. potentially more local stores that have committed to using less toxic growing mediums and practices or even OMRI certified. The big home improvement stores have great prices on plants but have potentially grown these plants with more toxins then you may want respiring in your home with you. I know Lowes has committed to not using neonicotinoids. I love this design of the bathroom though. It makes it feel so much more alive. I live in MN and that can be a saving grace in the Winter.
The makeover turned out great! I'm dealing with thrips right now (yay) and am keeping the more challenging plants in my bathroom. But once the thrip battle is over, I plan on moving a couple of trailing plants into the shower. My ceilings are at least 10 feet tall though, so I still need to figure out the best way to hang them.
Huge upgrade with some tiny adds! The pothos in the shower definitely gives it a spa vibe and those mini pots for the ferns are classy. Jealous of your showerhead, that's going on a list for sure.
