The hell with debris cost. I want electricity. What's needed is power. My neighborhood is constantly losing power now. Even in normal thunderstorms. It is unbearably hot. I spent my entire day at memorial city mall... I went to the movies, shopped, food court and a nice stroll in the AC.. yes it was a great time. But now I have to go home
I hear you about the electricity! Plus, if they had removed the leftover tree debris from the last storm in May and the heavy trash last month, the drainage would’ve been better, and we would have had less debris/debris cost. Not handling business consistently made matters worse.
I reported a power line that fell onto my garage and is currently sitting on my driveway wrapped around branches and my recycle bin. They told me it was of the utmost importance as it is considered hazardous emergency and that they would send a crew out to fix it before power was restored. The crew never came so I called to get an update. The kind lady told me that my ticket had been dropped because my issue showed as resolved in their system. I told her there's no way because my power line was still sitting on my driveway and nobody ever came out to fix it. She then explained to me that when they restore power in some areas, that it can trigger a false positive, showing that it had been resolved. So she opened another ticket. Fast forward a bit, my nextdoor neighbor calls me to tell me that her power had been restored. CenterPoint, get it together. Your representatives told me that my power line would be fixed before power was restored in our area.
@Death2Dust my neighborhood has almost a whole line of power lines down. Than various single ones, a huge tree blocking an entire street, and another tree on a main road. Complete black out. Haven't even seen a single crew member or here or anywhere close to my vicinity. I even drove around houston today. Never once did I see work being done at any capacity.
My whole neighborhood has power except for 10 houses I'm one of those houses without power ....this sux . Wondering when their gonna come back to fix it .
@@nate1prtx I hear you brother. The only truck I ever saw wasn't even CenterPoint. My other neighbor told me she saw a CenterPoint truck pass by, but never stopped. I've driven around quite a bit too and not one single CenterPoint truck... Anyway, I hope your neighbor gets the attention it so desperately deserves. Stay strong, brother. Blessings to you and your family
@@DRAGOINTHEHOUSE Keep calling bro. Their lines should be less congested now so you'll most likely get through. If you can't, choose the Spanish option. Of the 5 times that I chose in Spanish, they all spoke English. If they answer in Spanish, just say English and they will transfer you or just hang up and try again. Good luck!
Why can't we get either an updated system or new system because this is just July. Still have a few months of hurricane season. Everyone knows stuff like this can happen. Why does it seem we are still running the same system and not trying to update it.
Brought in over 10,000 personnel and heard reports like this: crew standing around for 3+ hours doing nothing and they said they were waiting on direction from the company and they couldn’t even stay in the city bc all hotels were taken.
Mayor, Houston Hotels are charging up to $200.00 dollars for one day stay after the Hurricane... This is so sad it breaks my hearth because now I don't have enough to pay my car
I’ve never seen a worse recovery effort in Houston. This mayor should resign, effective immediately. I bet his house has power, and he’s not experiencing the challenges the rest of us are.
You aint lying but i warned everyone not to vote for this guy or they would regret it . He is a life long texas politician who has never done a thing for houston anyone can name .
@ScottGuillory-uy8mn I drove through the memorial area and they seemed to have power. Heights had power but the hospital I work for is approaching day 3 on a generator that only can last up to 6 days
Definitely moving out farther, Houston area is a hard place to live with natural disasters not being properly prepared for as well as improperly administration of help and need afterwards.
@@Edangel14-421 Yeah it seems to be getting worse sadly and again I been here my whole life. The sister recovery efforts seems to be burdensome for ALL even the administration look 👀 tired Lol !!! It’s a big city and when it strikes, it strikes
@fefeanng7 Ury was such a disaster 🙄 they think we forgot but I didn't...I was diagnosed with ptsd after that storm and not Harvey. I was in rescue and watching our animals start to freeze to death - then hearing afterwards people put their children to bed that never woke up. I haven't nor will I ever forget, and THEY STILL haven't fixed it! Nor held accountable!!!
All that smiling and cackling in the beginning while the people suffer. As Former Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans said during the Katrina debacle, No new press conferences until you fix this got d** mess!
@@ScottGuillory-uy8mnIt’s on both. We pay federal taxes. They send billions overseas to help with emergencies, why not help citizens?

The governor has to proclaim a disaster before fema can help ,guess who decided to go on a nice vacay while a hurricane was on the way ? It wasnt biden
Trump would would been all over this if he were in charge. But like always there would have been a democrat standing in his way trying to make sure he’s not given credit even if it means the citizens suffering.
The crews are sitting at football stadiums waiting. The damage assessment crews can't get messages back to center point. And damage crews should have been ready the second the wind stopped. This is insane and I've lived here over forty-five years
@patriotoftruth according to then they have to be briefed and trained. I fail to see what they need to be trained in since I assume this is their job and should know how to go the work already
Houston we have a problem... I can't afford living in Houston anymore No light , my blood pressure is kiling me even taking my medicine.. No hotel rooms available and the ones available 9one bed 200.00 dollars prr night Is better to je an illegal because these people get more help and consideration from the government than us USA citizens.. What we have become, so sad!!
spend myv5 mins to see whats hapoening yall doing the same shit. enjoy yalls bathes, meals and lights and patting yourself on the back . My neughbors and i will enjoy our 1 peaniut butter sandwhich before we crawk back on the floor with a wet fing towel for another fing night
Dont put this ALL on Centerpoint again. This is on Ercot AGAIN!!!! FIX THIS DAMN GRID! Edited to add: IS it true Greg Abbot on vacation? Cruz was last winter storm. This is all sounding all too familiar.
@deeznoosh you have never seen how at the top it's Greg Abbot appoints the utility commission, under that is Ercot which manages EVERYTHING ELSE. Piss poor management, that's how!
Have you ever heard of the one where the Lord Jesus Christ came down and crucified each and every one of you because of the awful sins that you've committed against them
