Houston Police reported responding to a shooting at Lakewood Church, the worshiping home of pastor Joel Osteen, on Sunday. Police said the shooter died at the scene, and two people were injured in the shooting. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch reports.

That is such a rumor. Please learn your facts. They worked closely with the city of Houston and the city told them at the time we don’t need your facilities. Part of their facilities were completely underwater. I saw pictures myself. The city wanted people in certain locations and not in other locations. I guess where they had more control. Again, this is just a nasty rumor started by people who can’t stand Joel Steen. you don’t have to follow what he says you don’t even have to like him although I don’t know why anyone would hate him, but just get the facts straight

I just heard it on the 11:00 news in FL. They said the woman was shot and that she didn't have a bomb as she said she did. She was spraying "a substance". I heard no mention of a child. They said they were going to break in but no... Interrupt a several hours golf tournament that pre-enpted both the local *and* network news??? Goodness no!!!

@@julienielsen3746 Show compassion and sympathy. Inappropriate smiling sends the wrong message. Show a lump in the throat. "Jesus wept." It is ok to have a few tears. There are times to smile and a time to weep. Being a Christian and having faith in God does make us oblivious to tragic events. Perhaps Joel was in shock and it hadn't totally sunk in. The Bible says, In all our afflictions, God is afflicted. Jesus feels the trauma of that little five year old. I don't see that sympathy in Joel.

Let’s not get our focused off the story and what happened at this church! A lot of people could have been killed!! This is not about if you like or dislike the Pastor! Could this be the beginning of a horrific trend where shooters come into a sacred place of worship and shoot people! Let’s pray that won’t be the case! It’s a really good question. In Australia there’s no such thing as private or public churches. Any house of God should be open for all. Having said that, there’s exclusive religions that will only allow their own kind in. And THATS how you know (amongst many other criteria) that they’re a church to avoid.
