I'm really glad to see you replied to Kay here. You are proof writ large that the folks on the other end of the signal are our friends. It's not just the fact that you are a guy with a great sense of humor, but also are one that really, really wants to make general aviation and flying in general, a fun and safe experience. I'm coming up on sixty years as a pilot, and you gave me a big smile as I thought about all the good conversations that I've had and heard that involved ATC.

@@ytorwoody I think a lot of people forget we are providing a service. Most controllers are just too busy and have to work in a more robotic way. I like to try to keep the frequency light when I can, definitely a bonus if you can fly thru with a smile or a smirk!

I’m a dad and dads give great advice. Unless they are in an airplane telling you to turn the radios up and the headset volume down. Don’t EVER do that 😳. That brings 2 problems: 1. You can’t hear your side tone if you do that. That’s your voice in your ear as you transmit. That doesn’t go up and down with the com volume. 2. Cranking up the volume on your com causes all the background noise to increase 10 fold. Just some tips from owner of Stark Avionics. Happy flying!

I'm coming up on sixty years as a pilot, and I now learn that I've been doing this wrong ever since the use of headsets became common. Thank you for explaining the better way to minimize the background noise. As my hearing discrimination has declined, my ability to filter out the "rush" seems to have declined even faster. Your reply is a big win for me.

ATC story once my Father and I were comming into an international airport and asked if we can land in front of somebody and we acknowledge that we could. So my dad did a nice tight turn and landed and the tower said Nicee landing :)

I am a dad myself. Pops rocks! There. I said it. You really should include more bloopers but love the exchange with the controllers. Just bc you are flying doesnt mean you can't have fun too!

I was flying into San Antonio and there was a pilot who was having a hard time with his radios and approach control. Approach control told him he would not be able to provide flight following because it was taking too long for them to communicate. The pilot said, “it’s not the radios. It’s the airplane!” 😂 yikes!

absolutely a multi-engine aircraft. another piper or perhaps a beechcraft baron 58P .... pressurized and hopefully turbo-props ... fly safe and fly high

Not sure if this counts, but when I was flying Unicom tower was online, and I was holding short of the runway in use. A DA-42 requested for a runway change, and my CFI was like "Im not taxing all the way to the other end of the runway" So we took off instantly, it was early in the morning so we wanted to heat up the engine more lol.

Hi no i am in England i used to work for a crop spraying company it was in the 80s and we had two Hiller 12E helicopters with Lycoming engines they were a brilliant engine very reliable

It'd be a whole new bunch of video content with a TWIN engine for sure. I watch Baron Pilot on You Tube all the time. But you are way hotter than his parnter Chris! Just saying. What do I know, I am just an old man at 72. Your vioce is very distinct and kind of bubbly and high pitched. But it is who you are. You have a wonderful personality. If you get a twin engine make sure it has A/C.
