If her mental health issues were so bad, why does she still have a Nursing License ? As an ER physician for 30 plus years, I have NEVER seen a remorseful drunk driver who killed people. Ever. She doesn't even look upset, just annoyed
@@pearls713 I think that they didn't start introducing major DUI laws in the US until the 80s. Before then there used to be less consequences for drunks injuring or killing people
If she’s responsible enough to obtain a nursing degree, then she is responsible enough to take accountability for her actions. This is sickening. No excuse. She deserves life
@@Stinkycheeseman17 “Until 2009, Linton was working as a sales manager for General Motors, according to her LinkedIn profile. She began working in healthcare in 2010 as an 'extern' at NYU, despite not completing her nursing degree in 2015. “
This lady “NICOLE” has to be accountable. Mental health cannot be an excuse for ALL murders. It seems like everyone is claiming “M.H. No, you have to atone for this tragedy.
She has to have mental issues. Who does this? She ran through a red light while attempting to kill herself. Someone attempting to do that to themselves have a mental issue. First instinct of humans is to save themselves. She was going for it and nothing mattered. That is literally insane. No normal person would do that.
She was healthy enough to get a degree, Keep a job, recover 13 incidents, Get a Mercedes and insurance she is mentally capable to stand trial for murder.
Her accident was just that, an accident. A very big fuck up. Call it whatever you want, it was an accident. She didn't intentionally aim to kill people. She didn't intentionally aim to crash into any vehicles. She was intentionally driving very fast and obviously not paying attention but she wasn't attempting to hurt anybody. The argument could be made that with her driving so fast she was intentionally putting other drivers at risk, however, that argument would still rely on proving that she was intending to do harm. US law is based on intent, that's why "suspicious activity" isn't enough of a reason for a police officer to stop you. He must have enough evidence to prove that you have committed, are in the act of committing, or are about to commit a crime. This case will rely on the prosecutor PROVING beyond a reasonable doubt her INTENT to cause harm. The death penalty is too harsh, she isn't a serial killer or rapist, but life in prison is usually always reserved for first degree murder or other "life changing" crimes (e.g. Rape, Armed Robbery). I bet she will receive a set sentence, maybe a few decades but she will probably be released one day as long as things don't go bad for her in prison.
What exactly is her cocky demeanor? Did she flip off someone? Yelled at someone? Some people express emotional differently. Some people, like myself, can't express emotional at all? It's a good thing that internet judges don't count. I am not defending her.
@@dt6653 you’re literally defining aggressiveness, cockiness isn’t the same thing at all. She’s being cocky by seeming rather indifferent to the weight of her actions, as if she doesn’t fear the legal system’s repercussions since she claims she’s mentally unstable.
She's crying and overwhelmed, hopefully with guilt. She knows her life is over with, crazy or not. Don't worry... America jails it's mentally ill, there is no way she is getting any help even if it would've prevented this. Same goes for everybody else who needs mental help too.... the best they can get in this shithole country is jail.
@@dt6653 Na... it's a good thing real judges do and she gets no bail... she clearly thinks this is just a burden on her and has no remorse for the people she killed.. narcissists have no concept of "emotional"
Yes, let’s go the mental health route! Seriously?! She was reckless, and didn’t give a damn about anyone but herself. Plus she had previous accidents. Kudos to the judge for keeping her in jail with zero bail!!
My wife was a counselor for adults with mental health issues for years, she also taught college psychology for years. She always says that mental health issues are never an excuse tor hurting people. If you are dangerous, you are dangerous, period! Must be taken out of circulation!
Absolutely...and if she wants to argue that's she's crazy, that's even more reason to get rid of her. I have zero issue with society taking out the psychos
It's one thing for someone with mental health issues to have a public meltdown, commit petty crimes, or hurt themselves. But when you're so dangerous you can KILL PEOPLE, you need to be put in an institution where you can have doctors that know how to help with therapy/meds.
That's an extreme view and there are always exceptions to extreme views. Responses such as yours written in anger are often not sensible. So go ahead and trash what I said if you want but I stand by it regardless.
If that's true your wife should also know how complicated mental health is. I'm not defending the lady in this scenario but your wife doesn't sound like she ever learned one of the most important tenets of being a mental health worker, Unconditional positive regard.
Actually, I drove by there yesterday. That stretch where she was coming from is a pretty long downhill stretch. People speed down that stretch all the time. I know I be going 60 in that area. And people be flying by me so I know they have to be going 80+. If I had to make an educated guess. The heffa was probably on her phone and didn't see the red light.
@Queen Nové if she wanted to do that. She could've just went to some tall parking structure and jumped off. It's one of the reasons I have nothin but respect for heaven's gate. As wacky as their beliefs were. They didn't try taking nobody else's life. They committed suicide peacefully.
@@westcoastnative2523 true, I think it's only one red light from Coliseum. And I know if you're driving 60 some idiots are tailgating. But her speed was criminal, and not seeing the red light is very unlikely. She has no excuse.
@@kimpossible1413 was that in the video presentation I must have missed it.. so it was just a case of suicidal road rage? SMH one has to wonder what she was capable of as a nurse.. during the Inquisition and all
After what Americans has been through the last 2 years everyone has mental health issues of some degree, but are not driving like her. There is no good excuse for what she did. She doesn’t look upset at all. And this woman was a nurse out there. Has anyone die under her care?
She did a horrible thing, but you cannot use this incident to question her nursing care, they are mutually exclusive. Driving over the speed limit does not make you bad at your profession.
@@joshanya2941 Doing what she did shows reckless thinking and behavior. If you were in the hospital in critical care would you want her as your nurse after this knowing your very life could be in her hands. Did you even see the wreck?
We need to stop making excuses for her. She wasn't drunk. She was completely alert and in control. She was mentally cognizant enough to hold down a complicated skilled profession and buy a new Mercedes from her career.
Please... Mental health. She sure passed a driving test, and a nurse degree. It sounded like selfish uncontrolled anger to me. Which was the recklessness.
So ,if she had mental health issues, why was she taking care of patients as a nurse? If she was fine to work as a nurse, she should be fine to face the charges.
You would have to fire over 90 percent of the medical field then based on that logic. The vast majority of people deal with mental health issues (anxiety and depression), especially after the pandemic. These people are human and you can’t exclude mentally ill people from obtaining jobs. You wouldn’t have very many workers in any field.

This woman driver is a repeat offender criminal. By the looks of her demeanor, she does not look too concerned about the multiple tragedies she is responsible for. She needs to stay in jail for the rest of her life if found guilty of gross manslaughter.
Me too bro. Me too. This is so, so sad. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last time tragedies like this occur. We just have to keep the families of the victims in our prayers.

Hello. Maybe, just maybe, she’ll never want to be behind the wheel of another vehicle ever again (of course depending on the outcome of trials). This horrific tragedy might prove very hard for her, learning and knowing about those people whose lives she took. Having to see their photos and hear stories from loved ones left behind. That’s a lot of burden, worse than prison time in my opinion.
If the defense is using “mental health issues” in the past as an excuse, how could she be allowed to be a traveling nurse in charge of others well being? Aren’t individuals with jobs in the medical field tested for competency? I certainly hope they are. I feel awful over the loss of life from this horrible incident.
I'm a nurse, MH issues are not grounds to keep someone from being a nurse. Honestly I believe that 90% of healthcare workers suffer from some type of MH issue, rather it be depression or anxiety. Some nurses even suffer from PTSD after seeing so many people pass away during the pandemic. I'm not excusing what she did, I hope she rots in jail. If she knew about her MH issues she should have gotten help. There is no excuse. But to answer your question the board of nurses can not keep you from getting your license based off a past history of mental health issues, that would be discrimination.
@@yeeter2291 i'm sorry who was quiet about the mass shootings? Tell me who. People are treating her the same as a mas shooter wtf are you talking about?
Biden and Kamala and Pelosi and Obama and AL Sharpton and Rev. Jessie Jackson will all come out and say its just a misunderstanding and she should be let free.
If you can be considered stable enough and cleared to be a traveling nurse then you can be stable enough and cleared to face the consequences of your actions
Same, but being a traveler she probably didn’t get too tight with the regular staff. If she goes the mental health route with her defense that then opens her up to scrutiny for continuing to practice with a known impairment. Either way she’s off the streets and bedside for ever.

if you kill someone doing 90 +mph and there's no mechanical malfunction you should get the death penalty. I drive a truck for a living, and I'm so sick of seeing the carnage that reckless drivers cause. Slow down America.
I see it all the time where I live. Driving WAY too fast, tailgating, constantly changing lanes trying to pass every vehicle, just barely missing other cars in the process. At 70 mph, they’ll be less than 1/2 car length behind the car in front of them. Super aggressive and dangerous driving. Here’s where the real tragedy lies …with that style of reckless driving, they must have a lot of tickets. Their insurance is probably so expensive, they can’t afford it. It’s so pervasive with so many doing it, you have to call it a culture. It’s a really bad culture.
Definitely true and im from Houston sometimes I truly have to pray when I come back to visit after a deployment because Houston drivers will literally try to run you off the road. Made it back home now I have to make it back to my duty station smh
This reporter is good. I like her enthusiasm and reporting skills. As for Nicole, this is her destiny. I can't believe she didn't get hurt and was able to do this for so long. I cannot believe how wreckless she is and to top it off, a nurse.

So they’re using mental health as the excuse 🤬🤬🤬. I’m a nurse and that’s beyond offensive to even use that as an excuse when this woman was on a suicide mission and ended the lives of many running through a red light. This lady has THIRTEEN PRIOR ACCIDENTS under her record. She knew the harm her behavior would cause and continued to do it. She had NO excuse for this behavior.
There was one prior accident based on reports. As a nurse you should know there are Doctors that are alcoholics, mentally unstable, and those the abuse medications.
I heard she was trying to take her life but she took everyone else’s instead and survived on top of that. This is such a shame. Those poor innocent families 🥺
If she was trying to take her life then let's see how much she wants to keep it when she's in a women's prison in the California desert until she gets old. I hear they make them work until they drop.
What state do you live in that insanity lets you “get away with it”. When someone is found not guilty by reason of insanity it doesn’t mean they got away with it, they don’t just go back home and live their life, it just means that they will be locked up in a state mental hospital until they decide you are no longer dangerous which is usually the time your sentence would have been or longer. So sure if you don’t mind having less freedoms than a prison inmate and being medicated for the rest of your life I guess you can say it’s “getting away with it.”
I heard it was attempted suicide by Nicole. But when I see those 6 others who died. It just breaks one's heart. They had a right to live an this lady decided to take them with her.
It has a lot to do with all these crappy DA's that engage in plea deals. It is ridiculous! Who's side are the DA's on? Let the perps ROT in prison! Don't let them have a lesser sentence because of plea deals! 🙄
Sad reminder of the lack of control... any time any where by many means... everything can be gone in a split second. Not sure what that means but it sure chucks!
I’m in Houston (not sure why) but I see almost everyday that there is a childish nature of reckless driving here. People speed 60-70 in 35 frequently, run through red lights, fail to yield to drivers, it’s almost like people become insane behind the wheel.
Maybe she was like one of those functional “alcoholic” type people or functional “crazy” that was able to still function at work. I think there’s more to the story about her as far as to if she was a good nurse or not.

Well you know that God loves us so MUCH that he gave his only begotten son for us to pay for our sins. Jesus died for YOU. The good Lord certainly blessed that nurse Nicole in that crash. The good Lord must have plans for her. God is good all of the time, and wants YOU to have a personal relationship with "Jesus." We don't understand God because he works in "mysterious" ways. Ours is not to question, but to obey the word of the Lord. His ways are not our ways. He loves you so very much, and "Jesus" is building a mansion in heaven now for YOU. I can't believe I used to sound ridiculous like this when I was a Christian. 🤣
