If she has released only one album, how can you claim that she is a one hit wonder? As far as I know you need to release several other albums/songs whatever in order to distinguish between a successful one and none :D
I still play Doo Wop and Killing Me Softly almost daily. And I was 2 when this album dropped, there's really no excuse for these rappers who don't know they HipHop history.
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is literally the album that inspired me to follow my dream creating music for a living. It's first album I ever bought (both digitally AND on CD), and the only album I have listened to from BEGINNING to END and never get tired of it. I've personally never felt that much of a connection to any artist or entertainer EVER, and I've never understood how or why people cry over celebrities (people they don't even know or have any real life connection to), but now I do. Ms. Lauryn Hill's legacy will forever be remembered and she will always have a place in my heart💯🙏❤❤❤
I don’t think there is an album better than this one especially lyrically. You have to listen to the lyrics to really understand and feel what she’s talking about. So grateful for lauryn and all that she has contributed to music!
@@orange1326 now that's a comment I'm pretty happy I've read ! Thanks, out of curiosity I've checked... It's the BOMB... Care to recommend some more stuff to me ??? Please !!! 😉
@Michaell Alexander There is no such thing as "real hip-hop". Trap is another subgenre of hip-hop, just like gangsta rap, conscious rap and what have you. Classifying between "real" and "fake" music is hurting even more the genre rather than helping it
the miseducation of lauryn hill is the greatest hip-hop/rap female album of all time. She ushered in so many trends in R&B and hip hop for today than any other album by any female MC have done.
I still got her CD, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" a true gem of black music, where pure Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk, Reggae and R&B are displayed. How I would like her to one day release the second part of this wonderful and legendary album. IMHO!
This album really changed the way I view nd listen to music in many ways. Such a masterpiece of an album. Definitely in my top 15 albums of all time for now only cuz I have so much more music to listen to, so it could end up in my top 10 albums oat eventually. I wish Lauryn had released more albums, but at least she ended off her music run in the best way possible nd her music is still being sampled very often.
People are so quick to call nicki and cardi the queens of rap music. The miseducation is worth all their albums combined and more. the lyrics tell a story about the pain and hardships of life and is so relatable. I still listen to lauryns ablum bc its timeless and speaks a lot of truth. Sad that music has changed so much in such little time
Cardi b can and would never be the queen of anything when she don’t write but nicki Minaj is in a lane of her own she has a huge catalog and actually writes her rap not sure that your into her but nicki actually raps and switches her flow and actually wrote about different situations just u have to listen to her but cardi b just isn’t talented can’t even compare !!
Lauryn was singing the hook and rapping the verses on the same song and throughout an album at an elite level. She mastered that shit !!!!!! Drake needs to relax !!!!!!
M8seducation, Jagged little pill by Alanis Morrissette and Butterfly of Mariah Carey are hands down the best and most influential albums of the 90s. Singers do things today because these 3 musical genius did it first
