Please Subscribe to the channel i got alot of how2 videos i am going to post !!! Trust me I been installing Pro-Gear and 2ch gear since I was 5 years old !!
Mike from England. At last a guy who explains the set up slowly and methodically. Great explanation for this electrical dummy that I am. Thanks so much Tee-jay gonna order one today. :-)
since my sony strdh 590 ended up blowing the fuse and transformer i had to go back to my old strdh 190 but i still wanted to use my core series sacs9 sub just didnt know if i could. i watched so many videos and none of them really explained it good or actually showed how to do it. *been 6 months* yesterday i found this video and watched and i tactually worked. i never had a smile on my face that big in a while i was so glad to be able to use my sub again and be able to enjoy music and movies.
This makes my day !! I did this video long ago , and I used a cheap cell phone to record ' and it's helped alot of people . That's what I wanted this channel to be about helping out each other thanks for the comment '
Wow I should be an electrical engineer ... been having 2 12 inch subs in closet for a year never used them or got to hear them with full power and my dad brought home a 1,000 watt receiver and I did exactly this and it worked
@user-xq6op5iy1u you can tie into your main speaker A output ' the sub only needs a signal it will not take power away from amp I think it's like 500mv ' millavolts ' it won't hurt nothing just get positive negative correct '
I've watched a few video's of people trying to explain what you have just done. You explained things in plain English without dressing things up to make a complicated thing out of it that only Rocket 🚀scientist could understand. After watching your video, I know what to do. Thank you from across the pond.
Yout welcome , Very important for me to explain how2 videos as easily as I can about to drop another how2 video on Speaker Pigtails for Vintage amps that don't have 5 way speaker binding post Thanks for stopping in
I want to thank you man! Thought my subwoofer was broken. But here you come and saves the day. I had to hook up my subwoofer with my front speakers. Couldn't have a and b pressed together. Thank you again.
Same here. Even though my Pioneer AV receiver has A & B speaker outs, not unable to utilize his YT method without losing 5.1 surround. The receiver manual also states this. If you have satellite fronts, it would be ideal to use the above fail safe solution. Since the satellite speakers are not bass efficient, hooking it up this way will make the mids and highs more listenable by adjusting the subwoofer crossover pot.
brand new to this stuff trying to figure it all out. when you say you hooked it up to your front speakers, does that mean you ran your left/right literally to your front speakers and not the receiver at all?
Yes i ran speaker A output from reciever to Speakers then I ran b speaker output fron reciever to high level input of subwoofer 'all good thats what i am here for -
Awesome! I recently purchased a new receiver, turntable and vintage CD player because I felt my analog music collection was being neglected. Wanted to add a sub but didn't think it was possible. Now it looks like I will be. ✌️
Thanks TJ, you are a genius! Tried for 3 days to connect my Polk Audio PSW 20 sub-whoofer to my Pioneer Elite AV receiver using the pre-amp out to pre-amp in on the sub using one male to 2 male split RCA jacks. Tried every which way. No joy! Watched your video and viola! problem solved. Thanks again.
thanks for the great video, I am just another guy, struggling to choose a SW for my old Sankyo SRC4040, now I know what to look for and how to connect it, stay blessed!
This is how me and my friend did it in high school when we couldn’t figure out how to set up a system to the factory radio we gave up and hooked it up to the Reciever in his room lol .
@@86dieselman I did the same. Had a kicker ss12 box. Full range with midrange and horn tweeters and 2 12" kicker subs. It was a beautiful car stereo kit. I would take it out of my van and into my dorm r0om at college connected to a sony 2 channel amp. The box was 4ohm and it rocked with the sony. Absolutely got me in trouble regularly.
didn't even finish watching video you made it so simple was able to fix my problem in a matter of minutes so thank you very much and bring more videos you've been very helpful thanks so much.
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 iM JUST ONE PERSON I'M SURE YOU'VE HELPED THOUSANDS, THE PROBLEM IS MOST WILL TAKE WITHOUT LOOKING BACK AT WHAT ENABLED THEM TO MOVE FORWARD , KEEP DOING YOUR THING YOUR APPRECIATED !
Thank you! This video helped me a lot to set up the subwoofer to my receiver that I was having trouble understanding how it worked I was even thinking of putting it in the garbage! & Now it works & sounds great!😊. .. THANKS to YOU!
Klipsch,,,, Really? this is the EXACT same sub woof im tryna hook up, thank you so much. I figured it out thanks to you. well it turns out the whole right side of my 1985 Hitachi SR- 504 is out. no power to the right side, so i hooked it up to the left side and it works but, not so well, no balance control. but with my HEIL AMTS 2 it still sounds perty good. Haaa. these speakers are pure German genius...but I need the original pioneer 1976 receiver and amp to get this $4000.00 vintage system back to normal. thanks for the tips man it helped me out a lot.
All these years I've been connecting my speakers wrong..I have one speaker & one sub & I been connecting both to speaker A, what a difference sound is now that I'm using one for A and the other for B, I'm still speechless
HEYYA So i have a poweramp with channels a and b i was thinking channel a for mains and channel b a high low converter like the audiocontrol lc7i would this safely give me the low level signal I want to run my monoblock car amp
Thank you for stopped in , I will have more how2 videos that are easy to understand I been around progear and hifi gear all of my life their will be more very soon 😃
@@kydcali You want Sony 3 way speakers that can handle 120 Watts of power, I just bought a pair of Sony speakers on ebay for $120, you can search Google for Sony 3 way speakers.
My God, thanks for sharing this, I was ready to go buy a different amplifier tomorrow morning because my original sub rca output never did work to begin with. I'm going to get some more wire and give this a go. 😛🤘 Rock on buddy 👌.
Please subscribe ,Thiers more DYI projects to come very soon ! If i can get the subscriber base numbers higher ,I can get the audio companys to send me loaner audio to show more tricks of Audio hifi thanks again everyone
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I'm wondering kind of the opposite of your video, how can I hook a PASSIVE subwoofer to my pioneer vsx-d557 receiver which only has an active sub RCA output?
@@fredwood2033 does the passive subwoofer have soeaker inputs and outputs ? If so run speaker wire output from revievers to input of subwoofer then from subeoofer run speaker output to tour front speakers
Tee-Jay The Stereo-Bargain-File Hello. My pre amp subwoofer only have 1 line in left and right. And I have a 2 channel amp. Could I used Y split RCA connect 2 negative of B channel to sub’s 1 negative. And 2 positive to 1 positive. Will that be ok?
Tee-Jay The Stereo-Bargain-File By the way, I am also going to get a passive center speaker. Could I also connect it to both left and right B channel by using Y split? Thanks a lot if you could answer me, cause I couldn’t figure it out whole day.
BRAVO my friend even if it's late 2019 and it's very useful today through a simple and easy way tutorial for the beginners even for those no awareness for your skill regards and good day my friend ... EXCELLENT!
Very informative and easy to follow! I can’t help but think 💭 Save some trouble and just buy a 5.1 or 7.1 channel receiver (couple hundred bucks), order a 10-14 pack of gold plated banana plugs, attach/plug in and all set! Easy peasy😜👍🏻
Well alot of people are into 2ch stereo for music only 'home theater recievers aren't as powerful as 2ch Amps ' and home theater recievers have much higher THD than Stereo recievers '
Abner Your very welcome , Glad this video helped out ,tonight I'll be dropping another video on a new good sounding Bluetooth receiver that can hook up to any analog or digital Reciever/integrated /Pre-amp that has a RCA/toslink/coaxial input .
Thank you Tee-Jay, I just bought a Sony SR model STR-DH190, without the subwoofer pre out , and I was just thinking about getting a subwoofer. once I get it , I will re watch your video , follow the instructions and hopefully with the receiver I have it all works ok. ( i am thinking to buy a Sony active subwoofer model SA-CS9)
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thank you again Tee-Jay..btw this is the model that I have in mind.. www.sony.com/electronics/home-cinema-speakers/sa-cs9 I am also open for suggestions :))
How to connect two subwoofers using high level input ? This video is great for connecting single subwoofer using high level inputs however please explain the high level inputs connection for multiple subwoofers. Thanks
Thanks for the upload. Now I have to figure out what affordable sub to use in my 25x40 open living room / kitchen. My Klipsh Heresey’s struggle with bass for that size room.
Thank you for stopping in! , Alot of people go with SVS subs now days , I paid 799.00 for the Klispch Reference 10d thats in the video back in 08 or 09 it was their top of the line with an hybrid class A power amp design but about 6 months ago i fryed the amp to some old school Dr.Dre the chronic cd 😆 It lasted me 10 years not bad for me lol but i been looking at REL subs lately , I wrote both SVS Klispch and Rel to review their subs on the channel but no1 wrote me back 😥
Thank you for this step by step. It will be very useful. I only have a question for you. Will it bring any impedance issues? I mean, should i take it in consideration? Thank you TJ!!
You are Great. The question is that I want to connect 2 subwoofers. Should I use Y BANANA SPLITTER from SPEAKER B OUTPUT, and feed Both Subs, or to go with a SPEAKER JUMPER CABLE from the First Sub to the Second Sub? Please, tell me your thoughts. Thank you very much. 🙏
Theres a lot of 2 channel purest who refuse to use a subwoofer because they say they wanna here the music not the bass , But if hooked up this way its better timed aligned and phased matched , i keep my subs at very low volume just enough to blend in
Glad this helped , Thanks for subscribing , their will be alot more how 2 coming soon , And hidden low cost audio Gems that will compete with with hi end HiFi
Hey TJ can you review : Elec Subwoofer 1010 because of your review I ended up making a purchase on this subwoofer,I was very very close to Purchasing a SVS SUBWOOFER PRO SERIES however bought the Elac for $119 and I followed your instructions for connections for$119 it's a very very pleasant surprise again can you review this SUBWOOFER. You sure doing a great job thank you man. Also used connection for A & B on Onkyo A9150 2 channel Intergrated Amp.
I agree 😆 thanks for stopping in ! On this channel we share alot with one another in the comments , If you do ever hwve a ? About audio or re comendation on gear just post a comment 😆
Tee-Jay The Stereo-Bargain-File I have a Proton AA1150 2 channel power amp which just has R/L outputs connected to a pair Heresy 1’s. Can I run a pair of wires from the amp to the speakers so that they’re full range and another pair of wires to the sub’s high level inputs to help bolster the low end, since the Heresy’s only go down to about 50Hz?
You will get it , I work as a Maint tech myself i have a degree in Industrial Maint and certified Electrian and Abb certified i work on multimillion follsr machines and Automated Robotics system 😃 if you need help just hit me up
Super useful. Just to check, does this method allow you split the frequencies, for some of the newer subwoofers? Thinking of picking up the SVS SB1000 Pro. Also just to confirm, with the method you’ve just shown would the sub woofer volume be controlled through the main power Amp right? Appreciate your help.
When hooking up a powered subwoofer to your av receiver never plug the powered subwoofers power cable into the power outlet on the back of the av receiver because you run the risk of drawing too much power from the av receivers power outlet and can cause the receiver to shut off when you crank up the volume on the receiver
I bought new back on 2010 its the Klispch RD 10 ' hybrid class AB at low power class d at higher power back then I payed almost $900 for it klispch don't make them anymore ' Sucks sub was very good 👍
What happens if all ur sub gots is a line input jack like a onkyo skw-580?? And a 2 channel receiver such as a optimus sta-795. Thanks subscribed and love ur channel VERY informative & underated!!
