Congrats man you guys have an amazing team! I'm a lifelong Pats and Brady fan and getting to see them play against eachother was like seeing LeBron vs MJ, even tho Pat didn't have his best day, if there's anybody in the league who could one day surpass my boy the GOAT, it's Patrick. Goodluck next year and enjoy the 3rd ring!
Correction: Chiefs won another superbowl. KC defense carried Mahomes hard till he finally woke up near the end. And he somehow got MVP. 49ers had it in the bag but choked hard.
@@carsonlujan8134my god your football iq is horrible. Please go watch a video of people explaining how the chiefs offense cooked the 49ers there is no “bagged” the aren’t the better team thats just that
Being the $35 rated baseball player in his state isn't the most impressive thing I've ever heard about a professional athlete. And averaging 19 points his senior year.... meh. Brillian QB though.
@@michaeldonnan6767 Wow. Some lame asshole is criticizing Patrick Mahomes while sitting on a computer as if the accomplishments in the lame's life outshines Mahomes. And the fact that you misspelled *Brilliant* and were too lazy to proof read your comment before posting tells me all I need to know. If my post were something positive about Tom Brady your sorry ass would likely agree and not criticize. 🖕🤨
Kansas City wasn't the only team looking to draft Mahomes. They jumped in front of the Saints, who were dead set on him at pick 11. Payton would've given anything to have that draft back.
@tqking123 Sean Payton was quoted as saying that Mahomes was the highest graded QB prospect he's ever seen. They even brought Brees into the war room to inform him that they were going to draft Mahomes. Loomis just doesn't trade up in the 1st to secure anything except defensive linemen who are projected to go in the 3rd round.
I believe it was Mahomes who contacted Reid and Co. to inform them the Saints were going to make a move. If it wasn’t for that phone call, Mahomes would have been going to NO
The Bills seem cursed, snakebitten, jinxed, etc... I don't know what it is but since "norwood misses wide right!!!" and three more consecutive SB appearances from that first one, it seems like they fail at the worst times. Or someone gets an untimely injury, etc.... the Bills have had several teams as of late that could have made it to the SB but Mahomes is the Bills' krypotonite. Reminds me of the Trailblazers of the 80's to early 90's. Great teams in those 10-12 years that easily could have one or two NBA championships. They just had the misfortune of being in the West with Magic Johnson's Lakers during that time. I do give Buffalo props in that no team in the NFL has ever appeared in a SB 4 consecutive years.
Not gonna lie i remember that Texas tech team but had no clue who he was. Their games weren't on tv where I am but I would always put them on parlays because they could score and cover spreads.
I see why ppl say that but Montana played in a way harder league where u can actually hit a Qb nevermind jam up his WRs or smash them going over the middle. Not sure mahomes or Brady can even stay healthy long enough to get where they have been. Especially with mahomes being a runner. On a talent level no doubt mahomes is king. Brady and Montana have almost exact traits … honestly Montana was a better athlete than TB.
@@tsc11082true, quarterbacks have it easy these days. The NFL has structured it's rules to make throwing the football, BY FAR, the most important aspect of the game just as the NBA's are structured around shooting from 3. So it's becoming more difficult to compare between eras in both sports.
@@tsc11082 - I agree. Each era should be judged differently. Back when Montana, Bradshaw, McMahon played, QB's could be pile driven into the ground. So that needs to be taken into consideration. Each QB needs to be "graded" against other QBs during their era.
Flipping heck dude this guy has two super bowls and mvps and I bet you’re just one of those people who are jealous that Travis Kelce and Mahomes still outdo almost everyone. Respect Mahomes
Watched him in college, rocket arm, but took to many chances that cost his team. Drafted by a great organization, offensive coach. Sat on the bench his rookie year, learned the position. Getting drafted by a sound team that knows how to win definitely helps! Big fan!
People forget that Mahomes didn't even have a winning record while he was a starter at Texas Tech. The defense at Tech was just terrible. His best season there was 7-5 but again it was Andy Reid who took a chance on Mahomes and when he started, he turned it on and earned that starting spot.
He absolutely pisses me off. Partly because I’m a broncos fan and we’re in the same division. My Broncos suck. But he’s a badass player and ice cold. He’s unbelievable.
Yeah but we Chiefs fans endured a lot of beatings by the Broncos led by Elway and then latter Manning. The Broncos had some amazing teams back in the day.
There is a rumour that the chief's may exit Kansas,; so he might not be called the kc chiefs...I hope he will stay in Kansas along with Dorothy & TOTO!
Really nice mini-documentary! As a Chiefs fan and big fan of Alex Smith, I saw Patrick and thought, "Who is this guy?" I'm from the Show Me State, and Patrick has really shown us all! He also showed Alex Smith great respect and appreciation. Patrick Mahomes is the Steph Curry of Football, and after coming off his 3RD SB Win, people will compare others to PATRICK MAHOMES and his greatness. ❤💛❤💛!!!
its gonna be tough to be greater than brady tbh, brady is a freak because even when he was older he was still getting better and playing at the top level into his 40s. people dont know how insane that is
As a Chiefs fan I remember watching that first game Mahomes was the starter. I remember after that game I said. We will win a Super Bowl. I didn't know it would be 3 and still may not be over.
Does anyone notice a trend with these players, all the ones that were overlooked and not high recruits or talked about make it to the league and have a better longer career then some of these guys that were top recruits and draft picks, like take Tom Brady he was drafted in the 6th round at #199 🤣 and somehow became one of the best qb’s to ever lace them up
they have a chip on their shoulder and work hard to prove themselves while some of those other players have been lead to believe they are the best and less likely to work as hard and get a reality check. plus those big recruits have more pressure to be great while no ones expecting brady or mahomes to be great. not being wanted or being counted out is a great motivator. also its difficult to judge if college QBs will perform in the nfl as good because WRs are usually open by a lot in college and they dont have to make the insane passes like they do in the nfl. Sure you can be an all star qb when your receivers are wide open but can you be one when your receiver is in double coverage and you have to put the ball within an inch otherwise its a pick?
"Watching the story of how a 3-star recruit rose to become an NFL legend is truly inspiring! It just goes to show that hard work, determination, and a relentless drive to succeed can overcome any obstacles. From humble beginnings to the pinnacle of professional football, this player's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and believing in oneself. A true inspiration for aspiring athletes everywhere! 🌟🏈 #NFL #Legend #Inspiration"
As a European dude who thinks football is for concussionists, I have to admit this is the stuff of legends. Only the Great Gretzky has been better at the beginning of a career in pro sports?
@@markb3786 But he was in the middle of turning the team around. Listen he took the Eagles to a Super Bowl and there was no Mahomes in Philly. The difference the last 3 years has been the defense and that is thanks to Reid getting rid of Bob Sutton and getting Spags. Mahomes would not have made the playoffs this year without one of the best defenses in the NFL.
@@leeblanding that's good wording!! Tom Brady is the most successful QB technically however Mahomes is more talented AND more athletic than Brady ever was
You now are watching the rise of the biggest mega Star 💫✨ Of All Time Patrick Mahomes is not Like any other and you are lucky to be in his time in his arra to witness this time in history
Everyone from. high school until the NFL draft under estimated Mahomes. They just did not have the foresight to see him as a raw rookie. They did not have imagination. Except for KC. From what I understand they were eyeing Mahomes since his college playing days long before he declared. They could see this raw talent as someone to develop into a star player. And they wanted to draft him badly. Mahomes has a photographic memory which made him a top student as well as player. He remembers plays by just looking at them once. When Mahomes declared KC gave away a lot for the chance to move up to 10th to get this guy. They were savvy in moving to get a guy most teams did not want. And spotting a real raw talent that could become a GOAT
In the big 4 North American sports leagues, only 7 athletes have won 2 regular-season MVPs, 3 championships, and 3 championship/playoff MVPs in their careers. Here they are ranked by how old they were when they accomplished all those things: Patrick Mahomes (28 years, 147 days) Tim Duncan (29 years, 59 days) Magic Johnson (29 years, 252 days) Michael Jordan (30 years, 123 days) LeBron James (31 years, 172 days) Joe Montana (34 years, 202 days) Tom Brady (37 years, 182 days) No MLB player has ever won 3 World Series MVPs, and Patrick Roy-the only NHL player to win the Conn Smythe trophy 3 times-never won a Hart (but did win 3 Vezinas).
God just gives some things to some people to let us know he is still there. Nothing would make you think Mahomes is football great until you see him play.
"he then orchestrated a 66 yard drive to set up an easy game winning chip shot field goal" That's not what I saw. I saw one of the most outrageous pass interference calls in the history of the game on it's biggest stage in the most critical moment. Dude is a baller, but that was some bull.
It would have been a terrible PI call but it wasn't, because it was a hold. The defender admitted it, and the non-broadcast replay showed it clear as day. You can't just stop calling blatant fouls in the last two minutes, otherwise the game would become a chaotic unwatchable mess where nothing outside of the last two minutes matter.
@@davidkaneva9674 Just watched the non broadcast replay. My bad it was called a hold. You can see the jersey tug, but it was pretty weak, especially considering all the holding calls that get dropped in trenches due to discretion. If every ref called every flag by the book there would be a flag every play. Discretion matters. The asterisk remains.
