Travis owes so much to Jason and Coach Andy Reid. Nonetheless, Travis has matured into a driven, meticulous on the field performer, whose mindset i winning (and to not play stupid). Having his big brother, Jason, as his mentor, along with Coach Reid & Patrick Mahomes has allowed Travis to become an elite tight end/receiver. Winning another Super Bowl will place Travis Kelce along with Rob Gronkowski, as the best tight ends of all time. Gronk defined and refined the position. Tom Brady always knew Gronk was going to find a way to make a play, when necessary. Travis Kelce has similar attributes. Patrick Mahomes looks for Travis to find an open area, and when those two players possess that internal instinct, positive results occur. Not too shabby for a two star recruit, who had a number of uncomfortable and uncertain mature factors. Go Travis, Go Chiefs!
That is it. Travis slowly matured from a high school QB with academic problems to a big time TE. Travis worked really hard to build up his size and strength. And then the applied superior athletic ability to the TE position. The value of a good older brother cannot be underestimated.
I had a HS classmate that was a 5 star recruit DL. He ended up being a 2nd round pick, 10yr career, but never made a pro bowl. Those 2 star and 3 star recruits just end up being better because in college and the NFL, they always have a chip on there shoulder.
Notice how mad and unhappy he looks in the early college and high school pictures. I am so glad he grew up into such a great and mature fun-loving man.
Its because no one gets a fucking chance in life and look at that he got a chance and proved so many wrong fuck yeah big yeti keep it up keep proving them wrong
He has and still is growing, in addition to, maturing into a better version of himself. Keep the relationship with Taylor Swift alive and well. Good luck in the Superbowl and I look forward to watching the game ! On another note, Jason Kelce is a very supportive brother ! Travis is very lucky to have such a good relationship with him ! My adopted brother stole 35k+ from me, and was brutal to me behind closed doors. -Jen Gable (Justeson) *May he remain healthy and keep growing both professionally, in addition to, personally.
For everyone comparing Gronk and Kelce consider this: They don’t play the same tight end position. There’s two TE spots, a Y (the inline run blocker- Gronk) and a U (lines up in different spots pass catcher/ slot TE-Kelce)
Ok but the reason why they are compared is because gronk was phenomenal at both while Kelce isn’t such a great blocker. Gronk can excel at whatever you ask him to do
@@douglemay7989 dude don’t be stupid. Can you not understand context? When was a kicker ever involved in the conversation. We are talking about as a tight end. I’m going to stop there with you. You are 🧠 ☠️ holy shit
There are 7 billion people on the planet. If every industry is 100% successful at extracting talent we’d have 5 lebrons on every basketball team in every country
There are plenty of Kelces who didn't make it past training camp. At the highest level everyone has talent. Not everyone has the brain. Not everyone has the drive to be great. Not everyone has access to the right performance enhancers. Sometimes you show up to a program at the right time. Sometimes you show up at the wrong time. So many variables need to play out. It also helps to have Mahomes throwing to you. Life is weird like that.
So proud of Travis! Great story. Now I honestly feel some type of way about my picture being shared and not getting credit for taking it. The one with the writing in the back of his freshman year picture in the training room 😢
Interesting to know the stats and history. I just became a fan of the Chiefs after watching quarterbacks on Netflix sometime around the beginning of the new season. Before I would not have wasted 5 minutes watching football. Now I'm obsessed.
People will try to tell you he’s slowed down and isn’t that good anymore, while he was only 16 yards short of another 1000 yard season, and is the only TE with more than 3 straight 1000 yard seasons (he had 6-7).
We all slow down. But Patrick is always lookin' for him. The other thing is that it is more difficult for Travis without Tyreek Hill distracting the defense.
Bro, the Marines denied me a top-secret clearance to secure a job in the intelligence field because I wanted to be honest and admitted to smoking weed a few times in high school... I can't imagine how different my life would be today if I wasn't honest. Either way, I don't regret it, but it gets you thinking how much smoking weed could affect your life back then... now it's almost on the level of just smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
My last year at uni '72 - '73, I smoked a joint every night before going to bed. Two of the guys I shared the house with, knew a dealer and the dealer was very generous to his friends, the weed was gifted. I never missed one of my two 8:30 classes and graduated with a 3.5 GPA. I haven't touched it since '75. So much for grass use leading to harder drugs.
what athletes do in college doesnt dictate how good theyll be as a professional. no rookie is truly setting any league on fire and that includes wembys freak ass. literally nobody cares about what people do in college once they leave college
Kelce got one Jerry Rice receiving playoff record beat and if he keeps playing, he could beat 'em all. And to all the "wHaT AbOUt gRoNk" guys: Kelce got 305yd more than Gronk (who has 1.389yd), 3 td more (Gronk got 15) and 47 more receptions (Gronk at 98) in 2 less playoff games. Nobody is discrediting Gronk, who was very good at a young age and became a top5 tight end, but Kelce is the obvious Nr.1 at his position.
he might not have caught a touchdown pass and there may have been totals way more impressive then his 133 yards and of course it was in a losing effort but you can argue there were few performances ever better by a receiver than what kelce did in superbowl 55. the fact that despite how bad the bucs defense managed to smother mahomes and the chiefs offense, kelce still somehow had 10/133. no matter how much nobody seemed to be open all night somehow he kept getting open repeatedly, in the middle one of the best defensive perfromances in football history by the bucs they still had no answer for him. id imagine during his HOF induction they won't be showing highlights of that game because obviously it was a bad loss but they should show a little bit of it, i would. we are looking at possibly the third greatest pass catcher of all time right now with only rice and gronk to catch up to, wow.
I mean, I like Kelce. Im a Tampa resident and Bucs fan so obviously I'm a Gronk guy. I dont think its controversial to say Gronk is potentially number 1 or 2. Kelce is definitely on the top 3-5. And its absurd. Some are acting like Kelce is trash and its all his fault for this seasons struggle. Despite it being obvious everyone is struggling. Blaming it all on him and his relationship. Making things political for absolutely no reason.
I laughed at the beginning because my son born in 1988 was also thrown out of public school PreK, Middle child…..you know, the star of the show in every family. Signed the youngest girl in her family. lol. You just know.

Who the fuck is Kelce?
The TE with the most 1000 yard seasons in a row think 7 as he was 16 yards short this year, no other TE has had more than 4, fasted TE to reach 11,000 yards, he’s still playing and top 4 for receiving yards and Gronk is not in top four. So stop acting like he doesn’t deserve to be in the conversation as one of the best TE to play. I find the GOAT conversations for team athletes to be silly anyway. None of these TE would be goats without landing on the right team with the right coaches. Had Brady landed on the lions team all those years ago think really think he would have won all those super bowls?
