What i absolutely hate is that the epitomised path points don't go over to the next banner. Imagine being f2p or welkin only, and getting 2/2 points, but not getting the weapon because the banner ended and you didn't have enough twinkletits to get what you wanted, but the 2/2 GOES AWAY LIKE FU*KING BULL*HIT. This happened in Granblue Fantasy too, one guy spent 5k and didn't got Anchira, this ended with government forcing any developer in Japan to show the statistics, well this guy was the sacrifice for us GBF players to the pity system(This pity system grants you a pick of your choice that is in the banner instead of increasing your chances).

There’s another thing that happened in the most unhinged 1.0 era of genshin is what I translate to “31 volumes of Atlas” a Chinese streamer tried to get r5 kazuha weapon and they did, but the cost is 31 sky atlases.

There was a Brazilian player who tried this same banner, he was a fan of Diluc, so he wanted the gravestone, but he ended up with two Honma r5, he's not a famous person or anything, just a player who appeared in a video of a content creator called Japeta receiving help from him with the abyss

The 20k Singaporean dollars is about 14.9k USD for those curious.

Actualy Mujin, the gacha games showing their rates up goes way back to 2015-2016 during Granblue Fantasy where someone spent over essentially their lives' saving to get the Year of the Monkey character. The news got exposed so fast in Japan that Japan was one of the first Asian countries to mandate that all gacha games from now on have to be clear with their customer and playerbase on rate up % and must show the exact % of the gacha. Japan also stipulate that a pity system of some kind be implemented by law to give players a guaranteed chance to obtaining said character during rate ups. China took it a step further by mandating that not only this be applied, but that pity or 50/50 be absolutete 100% guaranteed to give the player what they are pulling for, no rng bullshit whatsoever.

About the weapon banner, if you select the weapon you want and forget to press "Chart Course" you get the old weapon banner mechanics, so that is a fun one to experience.

You could cover this gacha-heavy MMO called Maplestory that was exposed for manipulating rates and their response? They changed gacha elements from real cash to ingame currency AND impose new limits on ingame currency rates AND introduce new ways to buy ingame currency with real cash, all so authorities can no longer audit their scummy gacha system since it's technically not paid with real cash.

you're wrong, this happened waaaayyyy before genshin exist, it's called monkeygate. a guy spent like 700k yen for a newly released character called andira in granblue fantasy, which they later introduced the "Spark System" that allows you to pick up any character available after pulling a certain number ot times. this is why some people say when they spent a certain roll to get a guaranteed unit in a gacha game, they called it "Sparking", not pity

The real solution for weapon banner: do what star rail does. Split the banner into one weapon each, then apply the same pity rules from char. banner to weap. banner with the same lowered max pity (note that I never looked at hsr’s lightcone banner stats, I just assumed that what I said is what actually happens)

We still have a problem with 4* characters. You have a pity system for 5*. You're guaranteed to get the 5* eventually. The one 4* on the banner you want is roll of the dice if you get them. If you're lucky, you'll get the new character several times before the 5*. If your luck is ass, you might get the 5* before that one 4* 😅

personally funny to me because i pulled for Neuvillette's book as a FTP and got it at the last possible second with full pity because of this damn spear. still holding a slight grudge over those primos ngl.

The weird part is that while every other gacha community acknowledges the fact that the rates are meant to be unfair, a part of the genshin community genuinely believes that the rates are justifiable... It will never be justifiable when the average cost of getting one character is more than 5 video games (assuming each is worth $60 and the conversion is 1 dollar per 60 primogems)

On Eula's first weapon banners, fate points were not implemented yet, so I pulled Eula and pulled once on the weapon banner, got an Aquila Favonia (my second at the time) and just stopped. On her first rerun, the fate point system was in place and I got 2/2 points to get it. Oh boy the memories. On a side note, something I am saving up for and not excited for, I have a second account called standardOnly, which only pulls on the standard banner. But, very rarely, MHY gives pink fates through events and mail. I currently 63/80 pink fates saved up. I told myself that once I save up 80, I'll spend them all on a good banner, but no fate points. No picking something first. Mostly because I don't want to save up 240 wishes instead of 80. What I get is what I get, and I can't buy pink fates with my resources. Now, I'm a little annoyed they gave us 3 pink fates in the mail, because before that I had 60, and now it's not a nice number, however, I'll take every fate I can get, as for that account it's an extremely limited resource. My OCPD is just screaming. But yeah, that's my one opportunity to get non-standard banner weapons, so I want to save up for it. 80 minimum, and then I need a banner with good 4 stars for my account. Wish me luck with that.

Well, the biggest catalyst for mihoyo to change the weapon banner is actually a chinese streamer who wanted R5 Freedom-Sworn at ver1.6, he ended up with THIRTY-ONE(yes, 31) Skyward Atlas by the time he got the R5 Freedom-Sworn, not counting other 5-stars lost to 75/25.

I am literally going through this right now. I've spent +130 wishes just to get a C2 kachina and after 2 hard pities, 1 Mualani, 1 Keching, about 5 Bennetes, 5 Xiyans and some 4 star weapons she is still at C1 Am literally crying

For F2P, before pulling for 5-star, ask yourself: - Do I have enough primogems to guarantee the featured character/weapon? Yes: pull, No: next question. - Can I reach the 50/50 and be okay if it's not the featured character/weapon? Yes: pull, No: next question. - Are there 4-star characters/weapons that I might want from this banner? Yes: pull, No: save for the next banner/rerun.

I really loved the moment when I pulled Homa seemingly out of my ass (never pulled on the weapon banner , meaning no 33/67 , no pity , NOTHING) knowing Teccy spent so much money pulling it😂😂😂

tbh I have no pity for people spending so much money on a gacha games esp for an item that had so many reruns. Spending so much is rather called an addiction but tectone aka I dont play games and still bitch about it (honkai and genshin for example) use their donation money so not really a loss here You should always make sure that if you want to spend money on the game that you have enough money for your life expenses, rent, food and so on Im not hating tectone or dislike him but well gacha games are known for bad rates eventho genshin is a rather exception with the pity system and yeah tectone sure did not deserve it and should just at least be done after 5 5* pulls but nah he really got played the bad cards over and over.

I dont like Tectone, nor Mtashed or any of these "Whales" I think they are a reason (not the main reason, but A reason) why the Genshin-Side of Mihoyo is as stingy with rewards as they are today, but despite all this, I still feel bad for Teccy to lose a coinflip 8 times in a row.

I quit Genshin over the Staff of Homa. I had saved up shit for ages for Hu Tao and her weapon. So when I wasted hundreds of pulls on Staff of Homa and didn't get it, I got so annoyed I just stopped playing.

Yet so many people have multiple 5*s without reaching pity in their lifetime in-game.. Well guess what! You have to reach 330 pulls to reach pity and it doesn't carry over and just resets every spook... "Then I can just pull on the standard banner".. NOPE, STANDARD BANNER AIN'T GOT NO PITY FOR YOU.. So far in 3 years, I got 50 5*s in FGO and in Genshin.. I had to reach pity to even dream..

Pokemon Masters EX has a pity system where if you spend enough you get a guarenteed ticket. And by enough, I mean, like, 400 pulls.

I tried the weapon banner once with Epitomized Path despite nearly any player I spoke to on the Discord or Reddit urging me not to. I was pulling for Nahida’s weapon, and pretty much had to pull around 150 times before I FINALLY got it. I’ll NEVER do it again.

I feel so lucky after watching this that I was able to get the weapon I wanted after only 60 wishes
