She did awesome! Then of course the stupid police immediately doubted her story. They doubted that she would be able to handle a situation like that so well, and come out alive. Lisa crossed paths with the serial killer she would help to convict and put to death only because she was suicidal and was about to end her own life. He even ended up sparing her life knowing she would be the major reason he was caught; and it is insane to me. Almost being murdered gave her the will to live and help others. EWU videos are definitely worth the wait as they are so well done.

I think he lied about realizing that Lisa was around under a blindfold. He thought he was in control, he bought into her playing a different profile from the women he usually killed. He couldn't kill Lisa because he lacked the affect, the rage, but that kind of an emotional state makes your mind play tricks on you.

Her "experience" that helped Lisa remain calm is just as awful as her abduction by this monster. Poor girl spent years being assaulted by her Grandma's boyfriend and being threatened with a gun. When she arrived back home after escaping from the serial killer she was in fact beaten by her Grandma's boyfriend and accused of "cheating on him" She's an incredibly strong person, I'm happy she is no longer in such a living hell.

I once saw a story on American Justice where a young girl named Amy was invited to a bikers party. She made the mistake of getting mouthy and putting down a biker. Saving face is very importaint in their world and the guy told her to shut up, she didn't. He ended up killing her. This was in Florida. Her body was fed to aligataors. The man who finally told what happen on his death bed said," women are such natural victims. They have no sense of danger". Start paying attention to what is going on around you. Look beneath the surface of peoples actions. Look for the motivations and realize anyone, even a nerd or geek, by your standards can be pushed to far. Men are the driving force of humanity, and there pride runs deep. Don't engage in male bashing or disrespedting them to much. There is an old saying. If you humiliate a man too much you have to look over your shoulder the rest of your life. Good Luck

You should take an RAD self defense class. Cops dress in padded suits and teach you the fight tactics they were trained in. You actually try to hit them and knock them over, to practice certain skills. Of course, the goal is to get away, not catch them! I have a cop in my family who said those were same ground tactics (and others) he was taught. You can train your brain and body to respond. They would yell at you, jeer, and surround you, to try to throw you off guard, like an attacker does. I went to other self defense classes that did nothing. But a guy tried to date r*pe me since I took it, and he backed off so fast when I moved quickly into the fight stance. A lot of people want an easy target. (Yes, they reminded us to be sure someone is attacked or threatening you before you fight. He had already stated his intention and gotten violent).

A neighbor saw Jaycee and her girls in the backyard and called the cops, they spoke to Philip then left. It was 2 cops from Berkley that finally helped rescue her. @@neliaferreira9983 ummmm no. You do know that everyone is different and handles trauma differently right??just because one can do it doesn’t mean everyone can. Also, you can understand the how and why of things without it being an excuse and agreeing with their actions. I don’t know why everyone always uses this logic. It’s stupid for one but it’s also moot. You cannot compare how one persons brain handles extreme trauma to the next. Not to mention, not everyone has the means to get all the help and support that Amanda Barry got as well. With your logic, just because YOU didn’t get split personalities or schizophrenia from extreme sexual, mental, physical abuse while growing up, that means nobody can develop those mental illnesses and disorders. You’re not making any sense. You can’t pick and choose when you believe in mental illnesses or not. I’ll say this again for the people that are gonna reach and say that Im excusing their behavior or crimes or enabling people. YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE WHY AND STILL BLAME THEM FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!

Lisa talked about being abused by her grandmother's boyfriend for three years before this happened. Her attitude was basically "This is nothing new to me." She said that the terrible things that had already happened to her almost prepared her to survive when she was kidnapped. Just to be clear, she wasn't saying anything good about the abuse, just that it had galvanized her and she already had developed methods to compartmentalize and still being able to think rationally and figure out how to escape. Also, when she got home, the abusive grand-boyfriend beat her and accused her of lying about what happened for five hours until finally calling the police to report what she had gone through. I hope he got his, in the end.

@jacksyoutubechannel4045
@jacksyoutubechannel4045 2 года назад
I understand and agree with the sentiment behind why you'd want to, but we have the statute of limitations for a very good reason. It is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to defend yourself against false allegations after a certain amount of time. Evidence you might have been able to get a hold of that proved you were somewhere else is long gone. The amount of time your bank or cell provider keeps records has passed and they've shredded them. Maybe you were at work at the time of the crime, but that company doesn't exist anymore. Maybe your father had taken you to a baseball game in another city when the crime occurred, but he passed away four years ago. (And with crimes that are not rape, murder, etc., there is a secondary purpose to the statute of limitations. If you robbed a bunch of gas stations as an addict in your 20s, but you get sober and never so much as sped the rest of your life, it's not necessarily justice to put you in jail to live out the last years of your life at age 80, _and_ knowing that you do have the hope of a normal life if you're willing to stop committing crimes gives a person an additional motivation to stop. Why not just keep doing it, if every day for the rest of your life could be the day you go to jail?)
@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim

At 30:00….he was never prosecuted because the statute of limitations had run out by the time he was caught…how does that work? He did it. He admitted it. But because the cops couldn’t catch him, he just gets away with it?
@mommy2libras
@mommy2libras 2 года назад
Pretty much. Certain crimes carry a statute of limitations- a time limit that the DA's office has to bring charges against the accused. It's different from state to state though I think all states have no statute of limitations on murder. But they were referring to him assaulting the women he met through classified ads at that time and for assault, including sexual assault, there is a statute of limitations. Some may have been met because the women didn't report it and they didn't know about those particular ones until Bobby Joe himself told them but I do know that some of those attacks were reported. However they didn't have enough evidence to figure out who he was and couldn't file charges. I assume, because of his record, that these assaults were sexual in nature. I'm not sure what the statute of limitations was in Florida back then but now it's like 4 years, though several laws have been passed to either extend the limit or do away with the limit altogether in certain circumstances (like in the occurrence that the victim is a minor or if a weapon is used or if the victim is abducted and sexually assaulted, as well as some other scenarios- the statute of limitations is lifted). For some things like battery, the statute may be around 3 years, I think.

Same thing happened with the Golden state killer. He was prosecuted for the murders, but the statute of limitations had passed on most of the sexual assaults he committed. Feels like BS for the surviving victims

Bobby had a TON of mommy issues, forced to sleep in the same bed as his mom while she would have sex with all sorts of men right next to him from a young age. I can see how/why he turned the way he did, doesn't excuse his behaviors, but I can see where all of this took a turn for the worst. Lisa is an absolute GOAT. Going through what she had and then being able to take control of the situation she was in and help get him arrested is just amazing. She didn't let down even with her grandma and her boyfriend not believing her and the boyfriend accusing her of cheating on him (like wtf). I'm so glad that Lisa turned her life around and went on to do great things, becoming an officer specializing with child abuse.

Lisa is an absolute boss. My aunt was abducted by 2 men in the early 70s. I don't know how she kept it but she did. She was SA'd in the vehicle while still moving... She um.. Grabbed downstairs after and proceeded to spread every bit on the seats and lining of the car. She was allowed a cigarette and threw the butt on the floor. When they took her into the woods and did their... thing - she threw her bra behind a tree. I still believe she was lucky as she convinced them to not kill her because she was pregnant. They left her. Both were caught. I'm not sure what happened to them after prison

@ianrichardspangler She is! I seriously dont know how she managed to keep so cool. It did permanently effect her tho. My family found out later that a police officer had wanted to pull them over at a stop light for a regular check on out of state tags. He was good friends with my grandfather (aunties dad) and decided it wasn't worth it. She was being assaulted in the car during the stop light and this poor man never lived it down. Edit: she wasn't actually pregnant. She lied

Lisa was the youngest and so very very smart. By leaving clues and evidence behind if he was to murder her....also she was the only one who made him feel loved by saying she'd be his GF,asking him about his feelings about why he's doing this etc...he probably never felt that before hence why he's targeting women who's in the s*x work...not to mention how his mother embarrassed him by dressing provocative. This was very disturbing and it's so scary my goodness this evil world! Edited: Omg i forgot Lisa was also on her way to commit su*cide that night too for her to get kidnapped and realizing her life is worth fighting for. God has mysterious ways of helping people find their purpose. For her to now be in law enforcement after helping catch a serial killer is AWESOME!

Using her menstrual blood is ingenious. Everything else she did was very impressive. But the fact she was able to think about how her natural biology could be useful in a crime scene is just so smart. Granted she's very lucky because he did say he let go and was thinking about killing her. Also crazy to think about how all these girls that were killed were probably just on a troubled path and were easy victims. But the one who was ready to give up somehow survived. Just goes to show killing yourself may seem like a solution to your problems when it's on your terms. But when someone tries to take your life I think you rethink a lot of your problems.

If I remember correctly, the mom worked for the fire dept. Years after her daughter was murdered, this mom took possession of her daughter's killers home & had it burnt down. I'm not sure what happened to the killer, I assume he either got life or the death penalty. I actually saw this little girl walking by our house several times. Her name was Somer Thompson.
