That would be a great video idea, I might put a poll up and get people to join in. For me it's subjective for example if you asked me what I think of the lyrics to baby shark I'd say they're awful, ask a 6 year old and they'd probably say it's the best thing they ever heard. For me good lyrics are ones that cause an experience but that's also inseparable from the music. Any literary or poetic technique can make a lyric better but only if they're used properly in a way that helps cause an experience. Great question, cheers Aaron 👍

I think it's more about the substance in the language on the lyrics. For example, you can use complex analogies and words to say something that seems deep but isn't. Look at so many Nickleback songs, many of their songs have some complex lyrics, but there is no personal story in them. Now look Arctic Monkeys, their entire debut album is about Sheffield Night life. Songs like Red Light Indicate the doors are secure, it's about a night at the bar where Alex failed to ask a girl out and then they saw a bar fight and went home in a cab. But it's from the perspective of Alex talking to one of his friends, telling him the story while they went to the atm to get the cash for the cab. He didn't have to tell it that way, but that alone doesn't make the way he told the story useless. It wasn't just meaningless rhetorics that made it sound complex. It was something personal.

Or whatever I just said can be meaningless bs....cause you musician are on another level. I'm but a singer 😂
