Can I add chicken coop floor poop/dirt as fertilizer in the garden after my veggie seeds have sprouted? How do I mix it into the dirt without disturbing the roots .. or do I just sprinkle it on top and water?

The worm leachate from newer systems, and those that are poorly maintained, can contain various phytotoxic compounds, so it’s important to be a bit more cautious when using it. Diluting it and/or aerating before use can help though.

there is a lot of CONFLICTING information on how this should be used in the garden so I will have a video in the future on this 🌿😃 after doing more research a few days ago I have been leaning more towards keeping the leachate out of the garden but I have yet to conclude my study!

good point. also leachate and compost tea made from worm castings are not the same thing.

Great video! Just wanted to correct a small piece of information @0:55. Generally speaking, cotyledons *do* actually photosynthesize both before and after the plant grows its true leaves, only if they are photosynthetic cotyledons of course. Don't know what lead you to believe the contrary. In fact, a lot of seedlings rely on carbohydrates produced by the cotyledons in order to grow the first true leaves as they contain enough nutrients for the first set of true leaves but not carbs. Yes you are right, dicots cotyledon leaves do photosynthesize. I meant to say after the true leaves form I believe. The cotyledon leaves are very important for the first few weeks but are worthless after the true leaves develop, which is why they die off so fast, the point I was trying to portray was for viewers not to worry about them once true leaves develop because I’ve gotten so many worried gardeners who have yellowing cotyledon leaves :p

I setup hundreds of seed trays for starting my seeds and it'd been a few years since I gardened and I accidentally added diluted tea fertilizer mixed with water to all the trays. Did I just ruin all my hard work? I'm just planting the seeds tonight and wanted the soil to be moist. Considering flushing from the top with a garden hose on the shower setting but then my soil will be wet for some time and probably unusable, was looking to plant seeds tonight.

I'd plant them just to see, I don't think a bit of diluted fertilizer would be very harmful, especially if it's an organic one. I'm curious what you did since this comment was 11 days ago!

Banana skins. Soak in water, discard, use the water.

How do I apply the fertilizer to the seedlings? I'm new to gardening. I have a 4-4-4 organic fertilizer and I only have the first two leaves on each seedling so far, but one of the leaves has a yellow spot so I'm scared that something is wrong

Do not use it daily and the fertilizer frequency depends on the type and strength of fertilizer.

My sweet basil already have true set of leaves but it was still small maybe like 1 inch(the whole plant), its already been 3 weeks and like you said I used seedlings soil without nutrients, should I fertilize it?

One thing you said that seems a bit off. Is that plants don't photosynthesize with the cotyledons. Then what would explain a plant growing in the dark being yellow as apose to one growing in light that turns green isn't that photosynthesis in itself

Yes! So I’ve been meaning to make a pinned comment stating they are photosynthetic but just barely. Most of what they provide the plant is from stored energy at this stage.

That is not how to make worm tea. That's worm leachy (not sure the spelling) and it's not good for plants. Your worm bin is too wet.
