Hullo Becca, I have worked with many brands and mediums in my art journey that started in 1970 at my Grandmothers outdoor bench’s and work tables! I have enjoyed a career in creating art and done many projects varied in scope. I have tried to use the best supplies that I could afford. I did use some cheaper supplies, but only out of necessity or lack of a sufficient budget! I am finding your videos so engaging and a truthful place to discover those less expensive options that will not cause embarrassment to me or a client. I have used all of the major brands and I have purchased quite a few duds to me. I did enjoy watching and learning more about you and your art journey, thank you for sharing all of your thoughts and ideas. I am just so glad that Lindsay Weirich invited you to her channel and her interview with you brought me right over, so thanks! See ya down the road!

Hello Becca, I completely understand wanting to step back from the easily influenced art series. Although I enjoyed the series, I also enjoy the other content you provide. I loved this artist chat it was real, authentic and sincere. I just want you to know I support whatever is your next adventure, I care about your well being and see you as person. I just like hanging out, I usually paint or clean while I watch your videos. Your content inspires me and I can relate as someone who struggles with an autoimmune illness and adhd, art is healing for me, I feel seen. I do like tutorials and the artist process.

Oh Becca, I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed very good results from some store brands, 100% cotton is a must for Watercolors. So like your use of the Blick’s brand of papers, they do have mixed papers. Kilimanjaro watercolor papers from Cheap Joes is just a wonderful paper and a quality paper and I am loving their workbooks! Yet they sell full sheets that are top drawer too! I have tried the Blick’s brand soft pastels and those were worth getting to understand that there is a difference between brands of soft pastels. Schminke is going to cost more than a store brand but I have found that a Schminke stick is like butter and so soft it is not understood unless you are painting with these sticks of color! I hope you are thinking about working with the DaVinci curated palettes like Denise’s wildlife palette and so on! Ok I do apologize for going on. Please take care and enjoy the rest of you day!

I appreciate your reviews. Not sure if it would matter to you to know why for me specifically. I was a textile artist for 30 plus years. Two years ago I lost sight in my right eye. Since then no matter how hard I tried (and still try), I just cannot do the textile thing up to the level I was getting paid for. So I lost my income. On the inside I am still me, an artist, but my outlet was gone. My income was gone. I’m trying now to pivot into an alternative art form. This is not easy. I have to start all over from the beginning… with little resource in way of money and experience and knowledge. I haven’t completely found my “new thing” but I’m learning. Your reviews help me make critical decisions. You influence my life. I wish could do patreon for all the artists I admire, you included. Reality is though, I’m struggling to survive while simultaneously striving to thrive. So far I have learned to make my own watercolour from foraged botanicals, and really enjoy it too! Thank you!

Your knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of individual brands, and the big variance in properties of different brand's paints, will never cease to astound me. 😱🔥 as another comics artist, I have tended to focus almost entirely on the portrayal of the story I'm drawing, and not paying much attention to the materials I'm using; definitely a weakness for me. Thank you for all the knowledge you share!! I need to search your channel and see if you have any videos about the printing part of your comics process. Been considering 11x17" inkjets but am really out of my depth. 😓
