He’s dedication to improve the poor aspects of his game is something I love to see. You never want to see anybody hold the title of a “bust” and it’s great to see him turn things around in Golden State.
@@futurehofer1564 terrible efficiency, bad shot selection, bad defense, bad playmaking. Also some people still think he is a bust, cuz he didnt live Up to expectations.
@@draco622 people have different expectations of a bust. Rusty buckets thinks he is a bust because he didnt live up to expectation. Where im like if he is a important role player/starter not a bust. If he is out of the rotation or at the end bust
Wiggins, Poole, and Payton are just reconfirming how great the warriors development team/assistant coaching staff are. Bruce Fraser, Ron adams, Leandro barbosa, and Mike brown are all great coaches who have consistently helped find guys who other teams didn’t want develop and carve out a role for them. Also have to credit the players for putting the work in and curry. We all know it’s corny at this point but the attention he gets is unlike anyone else and it just gets other guys looks that they never get other places. If u wanna say other superstars get the same treatment, I’d argue not but even when they barley do, it’s not to the same extent. Evidence is in Kent bazemore who shot above 36% from 3 only one time in his career until last year and then all of the sudden shot 41% on gs. Now he’s back to shooting 34% this year with LA, and that’s with lebron and Russ creating open looks for him, the looks guys get with the warriors are just insanely open.
Glad to see Wiggins career coming to life. Over the years, his game was good but bad at times and just didn't really fit the system in the Wolves. Now that he is with the Warriors, he has finally improved his game and has fit in the defensive end. The Warriors have been playing well not because of Curry but with Wiggins and Poole improving this year and becoming that scoring option. I hope he keeps improving his game and becomes that superstar!
@@ravens4207 I mean curry has been a lot worse than last year and they have the best record in the league. Of course curry is the most responsible for how good they are as a team and draymond is more important that Wiggins and Poole to their success. Having that being said they aren’t this much better this year because of curry, they got better due to internal improvement and lucrative free agent signings
Khris Middleton made the eastern conference all star team two years in a row averaging similar statistics to Wiggins. It is because everyone can appreciate Middleton's impact as a key player to a great team while still putting up good numbers. Wiggins is an all star, he's been a major factor in the Warriors having the second best record in the league and has great numbers to show for it.
The dubs have been getting by on an intimidation & fear factor, but they've struggled the last 2weeks tho'. Wiggins sometimes looks overwhelmed against teams that don't fear the warriors; i.e"Minnesota Wiggins"! Klay will put him in the position that the team needs him in w/his return!
@@The614zeke neither are all stars but green is definitely better he’s such a better playmaker and rim protector plus wiggins can probably thank green for some of his ‘improvements’, it’s a lot easier to improve when draymond is throwing you passes and putting you in the right spot on d
Lots of props and respect of Wiggins improvement along the years maybe it’s still possible for him to be superstar that I always wanted him to be, oh well a man can dream
I think everything worked out perfectly for him. He really needed to show he could play in minnesota, which weren't the greatest, but it was enough for the warriors to give him time. Then he really started to develop. Really like this dude
Back in 2014 I thought Wiggins only weakness was whether he was willing to put in the effort. I think finally having the proper coaching and teammates gave him that.
@@saucyca1821 it's not the drills it's the culture...the warriors have a winning mindset where everyone contributes and plays team ball...on minn he was the star of the show and did whatever he wanted
@@jacobchera3260 The problem was Minnesota doesn't know how to win yet. From the top down to the players it's been a vicious cycle of losing for many many years. In GS it's the opposite. A majority of the team from top to bottom knows what it takes to win. Winning now and keeping Wiseman and Kuminga along with Wiggins and Poole, keeps the vicious cycle of winning alive for GS
As a Warriors fan, I love having Wiggins on our team, he brings great defense and is consistent especially his efficiency. We wouldn’t be a top team this year if it wasn’t for Wiggins. Hope he stays a Warrior for a long time. I see him as a more athletic Harrison Barnes for us who can score more and defend more, mix that with Klay, Draymond and Steph plus our other players like Poole, Gp2, Otto Porter, Iggy, DLee, Toscano, Bjelica, Looney and Wiseman this team is like the pre-Kd Warriors squad that dominated the league, I could see us winning 65+ games again if we stay healthy and if all our key players are playing. Wiggins better make the All-Star game this year, he’s worked hard and has put so much effort in he deserves to make it.
And don't forget he SMILES a lot now. That's what we love watching players happily working not just obsessed winning. PS : ZION YOU BETTER WATCH THIS, COMMITMENT DUDE COME ON!!!!
Wiggins has really turned the perception of his abilities around. I'll admit, I was quick to say "bust" after Wiggins didn't live up to the hype, but I'll be one of the first to say now that Wiggins is balling out! He's an amazing two way player that uses his physical tools to play good defense and his improved offensive skillset to get buckets in a great Warriors system. He definitely deserves to be an all star this year and should be considered at the level of a second or third option on a championship team. Congrats to Wigs and let's hope that he can keep this trajectory up!
I knew when he left us(Timberwolves) he would be a decent player. We wanted him to be like a Paul George. His role in GSW as the third best player is perfect for him. Happy for Wiggs
@@markhenderson1177 klay is better but has played 1 game all season, which was after this comment was posted. Prior to klay's return, wiggs was the third best warrior
Wiggins was never as bad as his stats. He had to shoot late in the shot clock a lot on the Wolves and that team was never built for him. Same player better situation and a much better system.
The crazy thing about it is he is averaging the same but he is a little more efficient. I knew him going to GS was a good move cuz he wouldn't have to be there face no more. He can just play freely.
He's way more efficient, took less shots to score the same amount of points. Guarding the best perimeter player every game while still dishing consistent offense.
I've been watching this channel for a while now, all the way back when you used J Cole instrumentals as background music. This channel is the definition of quality, keep up the good work man. It's always a good day when you upload something
@@wrought-ironheroEMIYA i just can’t give a former number one pick credit for improving like 7 years into his career where he finally can be the 3rd-4th option, seems like his responsibilities shrunk and the players around him fit better not that he all of a sudden learned how to play defense
@@ravens4207 he was the 2nd option on offense and the best defender on the Warriors through the whole playoffs. The man is right now the 2nd best player on a championship team. Get over it...
@@hilmilosnowball7740 if you think he would’ve been able to do that without steph and dray i got a bridge to sell you, but mostly my point was that he really hasn’t improved much just everything around him has, still think he’s a good player but the personal improvement is far overrated imo
I love LOWs videos man, so refreshing to see someone on RU-vid who knows ball! I also like seeing him with a bit more personality on playback, almost like two different people 😂
He was never bad, hes just trying too hard, then when he went to the warriors he become a solid 3rd or 4th option and now hes one of the best 3nd wingman in the nba.
Hated how the media wrote him off. Even tho he always been a talented player in the NBA, but just because he didn’t live up to the media’s expectation, he was labeled a “disappointment”. Glad he’s proving a lot of people wrong 💪🏾💯
He has a much bigger role than Barnes. He took over Klay's job. Wiggins was the 2nd scoring option and the primary defender of the other teams best player.
He has a chip against Lebron/Cleveland for trading him. Every game he plays against Lebron he more than holds his own, and has even out scored him on a few occasions. Watch the games and not the narratives.
Great video. In some drafts he'd be a good pick, but being picked before Jokic, Embiid, LaVine. Expectations can be a B. I think being able to play, knowing he can just play with Steph leading the way, that helps. He's a good fourth or fifth guy on the Warriors. I have to clap my hands for how he has played.
fun fact: Embiid and Wiggins used to be star teammates in the past in college or high school (i'm not sure what but it's either in high school or college)
gh it’s was college and most scouts had embiid going number 1 in early mock drafts over Wiggins until embiid got surgery. After that Wiggins was the clear number 1 pick because he was the most durable out of the bunch.
Wiggins is a world-class athletes and a amazing basketball talent. It was a matter of when will his skillset shine. He still hasn't hit his true potential. It been great to see him get his game together.
The overall problem was and still is people ignore how young these guys are when they get drafted. They come in the league 18/19 and social media and reporters don’t actually give them time to develop. You have your 1 of a kind guys that come in with immediate impact but majority need time
Idk about “saved” is the word. He was in Minnesota the place where careers die. And was asked to do a lot of different things than he is now. He’s just in a better situation
Wiggins is fit to the playing system of the Gsw, and there are so many play maker in the team the athletesism of weggins is purely see. And the coaching staff of warriors is different from here previous team, And now weggins is an all star member. Kudos to warriors nation. 👏👏👏
Maybe he will never be a superstar but as a warrior fan im glad this dude can perform as an all star and im proud of having an incredible player like him on our team.
Wiggle-Wack has been my favorite player since he was traded to my T-Wolves, and seeing the improvements he has made to his game (and Golden State's spacing helps his playstyle) makes me happy (:
I think it also help that his on a team that even the players like steph, klay, dray are being doubted also but it did not affect them for being players they are now.
I swear to God I've been the only one saying he's a good player in a bad situation since he was drafted. Fans have no idea that it's a team sport dictated by the players around you and management. They thinks guys in bad positions suck but it's not like that
People called him lazy, I have watched him for years he is not lazy. Thibodeau complimented this dudes work ethic. He slowly learned how to make winning plays. That is not a lazy player, that is the defenition of a player who does not give up
Hard when your the main person on a team getting double teamed now that hes not gaurded as hard.. he can ball out….. also witch is why steph is sooo impressive
Ye and that’s when he went on that streak where he convinced everyone he changed for wolves where he avg 25 ppg till December but then he went back to midrange shots
The Warriors do this over and over again... JaVale McGee, Nick Young, and now Wiggins, GPII, ... to name a few. They bring out the best out of the players.
Wiggins should get consideration for Most Improved. He is proof that sometimes, it takes being in the right situation to be the best version of yourself.
