You go to the hotdog stand and ask kindly "May I have a hotdog, please?" But that jacked vendor just looks into the emptiness with a thousand yard stare
That's real life. Humanity amid chaos. Reminds me of 9-11 and Hurricane Sandy here in NYC. Protocols all fall The more I think about it the more I consider I'd join the True Sons given the hypocrisy of the JTF judging amid the violence.
I mean if I was an agent and my government said fuck you and left me in the dark zone with no back up I would be pissed as well maybe that’s why the hunters are a thing there a fail safe for the government Incase the agents go rouge seeing as how they hunt every agent in the dark zone unsure if your loyal or not
@@ElSharko- Damn. If only the gov had given them technology and equipment that would be disabled if they went rogue instead of... Changing their light color.
It's even worse when you realize he's the "prototype candidate", meaning he's the kinda person they want in The Division. ...I'd still join the SHD though.
@@mercy3765 I know that, but what I said still applies. Keener may have been chosen as a "test agent", but why him? Because he had the skills they wanted, that's why. He was the prototype candidate because those in charge saw in him the kind of person they wanted the SHD agents to be like. And yet he was, underneath it all, a power-hungry psycho. So yeah... my point still applies, they fucked up with him.
But you also have to remember about Keener, the government didn't back him and his team up when they needed it the most. I'm not agreeing with what Keener did, I understand his mentality of going Rogue. If Loyalty is such a high requirement for the SHD, and he didn't get that from the government he was sworn to protect and rebuild, wouldn't you feel betrayed? Especially when he went above and beyond in trying to save civilians when he was left high and dry? Again, I don't agree with his turn, but I understand it.
@@omegasonic2000 you mean he was the ideal candidate or the best one out of all of them. That's how they explain him in his shd card. Btw keener didn't go rogue because of a psychological problem but because he felt betrayed. His comrades basically died a meaningless death when they were told to get out of the DZ after all the sacrifices
I'm a single man living alone, stuck in a dead end job, and my friends all live across the country. I'd do it, simply because I don't have anything better to do.
LOL pretty much in the same boat, Though I don't think I would be a match on level of fitness. Though I am working on it. I have been running for about a year. and I am pleasantly surprised about it myself when I look at the results.
I would join. But what about being hunted by hunters? The stress of your fellow agents being killed right in front of you? Not being able to trust anyone unless you know they're with the division or support them, and even then not knowing if they're going rogue? Would I become an agent? Absolutely, but it would be one hell of a life.
To be honest thats why Aaron Keener gone rogue in the first place. To see your fellow agents die and the JTF seemingly not caring about it, noy even your own life. You'll snap.
NGN's Division 2 videos are essential viewing for anyone playing the game. He has, through his expertise, enhanced my enjoyment of the game immensely. Thank you NGN.
I have been so caught up in the story line from these vids I haven't played much just been watching the story unfold and now im stairing at the hindu guy that works at the 7-11 he looks to buff and the chinise guy that owns the spot where I get my orange chicken from his son is super smart and will walk up on u and u don't know it I call him SMOKE..
Absolutely!!! When I wanted to find out who the hunters were WHILE playing TD1, I searched and NGN came up at the top of the RU-vid list.... Clicked it and found a WHOLE new aspect that is, The Division. God, when that music starts in the beginning of all of these videos, it takes me back to the very first time I put the game into my PS4!
A lot of people would say yes to joining but very few are able to actually pass their tests. If their training and selection is anything like real world special operations selection, you will be sleeping a maximum of a few hours a week, every waking moment is you carrying something very heavy across a very long distance in the shortest amount of time. On top of that you are expected to perform under these conditions without fail. It's to test you past your breaking point mentally and physically after weeks of nonstop training and absolute pain and discomfort. Its not easy and only a few can actually make it. Like I said, if SHD selection is anything like a real world spec ops selection, very few can actually pass. It's supposed to be hard so they dont let just anyone join, they only let the right people in
I think their skill level for those selected would be similar to those in the CIA Special Activities Division, which usually draws its operators from the SOCOM ranks to be sheep dipped and trained additionally in trade craft.
This is all good for an agent, just one major problem. Combat experience, this plays a huge role in how a person manages in hostile environments. For example the agents that don't have a military or law enforcement background have a hard time managing in a firefight as since they haven't experienced the heat of a firefight and it clouds their judgement on top of that all the adrenaline that courses through them affects their aiming and gun handling. As we've seen through rogue agents that not all of them have the mental capacity and in the end chose their survival over their cause. So no matter how much u train you're never ready, you're only ready enough. Ik this is a video game but if we're being realistic
Hey there I see what you mean but surely the agents with combat experience would be put into the field agent? While the others in the other fields support etc?
TAH-lore offical just how many agents are actual combat veterans though? We have to remember that the *vast* majority of our troops do not see combat at all so making combat veterans field agents would be a nightmare in terms of manpower.
TAH-lore offical since the Division probably numbers at most a few thousand agents, I estimate that maybe 100 or so are veterans or former cops who’ve been anywhere near a firefight or shoot out. No way 100 or so Division agents are gonna be able to effectively retake the US via peace through strength and firepower.
I tripped on a stupid amount of words in this video. Voice recording is by far the weakest part of my game right now. @Solitaire might need to organise that vocal training soon!
NGN Gaming I think your videos are excellent, keep up the good work, keeps me motivated to keep playing. I enjoy the lore, it’s what inspires me to push through missions and makes playing more enjoyable
this video is great mate. ur voice is suitable for this kind of vid. only that u might want to speak a bit slower than ur daily talking speed. issokay tho. improvement is a process.
I'd do it in a heartbeat. I grew up in a military family, and I'm considering joining up myself. To join something like the SHD or a supporting function would be an honor
As a veteran, I would be confident that I can pass the physical and mental qualifications. But as a family man, it would be hard to keep such a secret life from my loved ones. That, more than anything, is what makes Division Agents unique
Nah man, there's gotta be a Division accounting agent. Like I wouldn't be surprised if the major hubs we see in that one map in Division 2 (I won't say when or where for spoiler reasons) all had at least ONE accountant. And Division Cells stationed in areas like Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and other rural states would have alot of their agents come from Search And rescue, Wildlife preserves, Forest Rangers, and other types of backgrounds. Hell. The worst place to be stationed in my opinion would be Hawaii. Because you know if shit goes down - that island only has 10 days worth of food for it's state's populace at any one time (that doesn't include all of the inevitable refugees and trapped tourists that were on the island when shit goes down, so it's even less) so I say without a doubt whatever bullshit we see in Washington DC and New York is 10x times worse in Hawaii. The game also has like these super secret hidden bunkers in the middle of cities for the Big shade nodes and stuff, but in reality many states have the majority of their land owned by the US federal government, so more than likely the big nodes would be secret bunkers in the middle of friggen nowhere guarded by a handful of dedicated division agents who were security guards in their civilian lives. The division sounds like it recruits based on what it believes is needed. It's a very flexible sounding agency, a Jack of all trades, master of very little.
The division is not real that's the fictional name adopted by the game for the real task force that would be put together if NSPD51 which is a real directive signed in 2007 by president George Bush, gets invoked, the real ppl that would get activated in such case, if you want to know who are this ppl look no further than the special operations community, delta, seals, HRT, FBI, those are the real division agents, the whole game is base on the results of operation Dark Winter, which was a real world excercise that took place in NYC in early 2000 where they simulated a bio terrorist attack to forsee societal breakdown
The Division (the organization itself), is really similar to Stay-Behind networks in WW2. What happened with those was a country would plant spies or soldiers all across their land, and they would wait for an enemy invasion or insurgency to happen and then they'd start fighting to push back the opposing forces or put down rebels.
This makes me want to hear more lines from civs and enemy’s saying things like “who the hell are these guys?!” And “nice watch where’d you get it?” Cus shd is yknow top secret
Amazing video NGN, I didn't even know half of this stuff but after having watching this so has my appreciation for the game and my agents grown immensely. Keep up the good work man.
The absolute worst part of being a SHD agent is having to drop everything and deploy when you're activated. Doesn't matter if you have a spouse and children, pets, aging parents who need your care, or good friends, none of them can know WHY you disappeared out of nowhere. Since immediate response is so essential one probably can't even notify someone to take over the care of a pet, much less a forever home. I couldn't leave my cats alone with no one to take care of them.
Odessa sawyer informed her family of her departure so you would have the possubility of settin somethin up for you pets, but also if youd be activated at any moment have a contingency plan, with a trustedfriend or familymember to take over for you if you suddenly have to leave
This video was very brilliantly and exquisitely pieced together! Would I accept being an Agent? It's easy for anyone to say yes, and I certainly would, but commitment to the very end of training and having to live years in a secret double-life will be the ultimate challenge for many.
Being in the Army i have spent a lot of time away from my family. If asked to join i would, because in the end i would be able to make a real change. In protecting them and others
Yes, you see what happens in real life when the crap hits the fan. I would rather die trying to save someone than just give up and turn into a monster....
I've only played the first game, but it seemed like the Division agents spent a whole lot of time shooting folk that were just trying to secure food, water, and medicine for their people.
If I somehow passed the psych tests, I'd join sure. I doubt however they would allow someone like me to do so however. I have conditions (I won't say what because that's beside the point) that's corrected by medication. If the shit hits the fan and I no longer have access to that medication? People like myself and others like me (former military, high asvab score, good physical tests) would STILL wash out because we wouldn't be worth anything after a disaster takes longer than 15-30 days. Which is kind of the Divisions whole point. I doubt the candidate pool would even be that large. And the drop out rate would be extraordinary. TLDR: More than likely, I would be passed over for the Divison. But I would serve them PROUDLY as a member of the JTF - probably in logistics, accounting, or the armory.
If i had the opportunity to become an Division Agent, to protect my loved ones and the one person i care for most. I’ll die knowing that i protected my family and Her.
XIronheadX - You can do that as you are now. If you are a law abiding citizen without a criminal record you can purchase a firearm, get trained in the proficient use of said firearm, learn first aid and about disaster preparedness, take the needed action so that you and your loved ones will have what you need to survive in the event of a disaster. Begin a physical fitness regimen and include your loved ones in it, no one person can do it all alone. If you want to help more than just family and those you love, look into joining your local CERT ( Civilian Emergency Response Team) where you can get training and be ready to help your community in event of a disaster. There are a lot of resources available both online, in books and through government sources that can help you, your family and friends be better prepared and more resilient should a disaster strike. I have a Bachelors degree in Emergency Administration and Disaster Planning and teach Disaster preparedness, one of the most important things taught is that the first people to respond to an Emergency or disaster are the local citizens. Be prepared.
To think that a video game can get adults this immersed and even make them reevaluate their career and life choices really means the story writer did a very good job.
I'm calling it now: The Division: Heartland is going to take place somewhere around those bunkers; either in South Dakota or Kansas. Most definately in Kansas, since that state is considered as the Heart of America.
when your explaining what they are lookign for when picking a division agent, I said to myself "I fit all those except 1, Im a tiny bit over weight but im excercising everyday. But yeah I think I would be a good fit for the division
I wish there was a division game where they have to “pass the torch” of being an agent to selected civilians since the number of rouge agents are rising
I think the hunters are indeed the 3rd wave agents and a secret contingency kill team within SHD. but since the SHD was branded as a rogue agency, without goverment control and orders, the hunter members are just as lost as a normal division agent. since Black Tusk was also hunting for division agents, so the hunters choose to hide from them and can only trigger with pazzle like activities.
If I were approached for Selection, I would accept. I've spent a good portion of my life in EMS, and I've recently obtained LE certification, so it wouldnt be a stretch of the imagination to figure out what my response would be if asked.
in a different life where i am more focused on training and actually motivated todo something else other the playing videogames(😂👍) i would totally take on the challenge to join such an organisation.
Video games as a sole motivation for living #facts lol The newest video game or comic book movie is literally the only reason I still persist in exsisting.
Leonard Lao yeah I hopped back in this past week and started D2 from the beginning and found that tape again. Thought that was so cool to hear her during her selection period
Im watching your series about Division from the beginning, it looks like some of materials can be updated with new information that we have found during current seasons :D
In life their are 3 groups. Group 1 : sheep- regular people minding their own business staying out of trouble living out their lives. Group 2:wolves- people that feed off the weak, causing trouble any where they go. And their is the final group. Sheepdog- the ones that protect the flock from wolves.
I was huge into division survival. Loved the first game. If only the PC population according to steam was higher I'd play. But these vids make me wanna play d2.
Presumably they take some kind screening to establish whether or not they have a baseline morality level similar to that of the factions they're fighting, and if they do, they're in!
Great video as always, already knew a lot of this from the big lore book, enjoyed every second I poured into that book, if I was approached I would definitely end interested I was called to serve and serve I shall. Semper Fidelis
This is not lore, that where you get it wrong, this is all based on a real directive, NSPD51 is not fiction, is a real directive signed by President George Bush in 07, Google it.
Wierd theory but what if those crazy challenges shows like those on MTV where a bunch of contestants go thru all these physical challenges are secretly the physical fitness portion of the selection process for potential candidates
@NGN This was truly excellent and answered many questions I had. Thank you for making this video. Additionally I have watched many if not all of your videos and love them. I just realized that I wasn't subscribed the whole time, but I am now. Keep up the good work. Also additionally, I'm not so sure that some of the Division agents aren't genetically enhanced and augmented with cybernetics. At least it would explain how they are able to do some of the things they can do. 😆
Nah.. I wouldn’t do it. Maaaan. Let’s be honest. I’m an over weight dude who already works 50+ hours a week on a shitty arse work schedule. I’d be dead before passing the physical haha.
I would in a heartbeat join the Division. Knowing you are protecting and saving your friends and loved ones? There is no greater fight worth fighting. It's one of the reasons I joined the military.
Another incredible video adding that deep level of fantasy and immersion into an already great story. Thanks for your efforts and please keep up the great work.
Not so much of a fantasy, NSPD51 is a real directive signed by President George Bush in 2007, Google it and everything will make sense, elite units already exist, and they are formed into Task force by selecting members from this units.
Here's my speculation, they are selected prior to any catastrophic events, yes? So while they are inactive, and is just a normal civilian, they are compensated by the government with enough support to maintain their livelihood until they are activated.
The turn in the gear they scavenge for credits. They basically get paid a commission for supplying gear to the vendors. The more items they pick up and sell, them more credits they earn.
Probably when they are dormant they receive a stipend to help fund the training activities and other activities pertaining to SHD. I'm guessing that if and when Directive 51 is activated they will probably get hazard pay and all the usual stuff that combat personnel receive. That is if they manage to bring back society as we know it. IF being the operative word.
I suspect that they wouldn't, at least officially... Additional funds would show up in bank records, and could compromise an agent or the SHD if they got audited. If they DO get compensated, I suspect that it would be in the form of preternatural luck in winning drawings for free memberships that cover for training exercises, and the occasional minor lottory win. Basically, something that could be chalked up to random chance if questioned.
I would love too and devote all I have to join, i have some experience to help a maturity of circumstance. The chance to fight for defense of even one single life would be worth it. The tests don’t scare me, it’s not doing something when I could have. One second makes a huge impact. Not something to be taking lighty
I highly doubt they would come to me in the first place, I'm not American and live in Australia. If there was a global version of SHD then maybe I would have a slim chance.
If there was a global version I doubt they have any agents here in the Phillipines... Partially because finding all of the traits mentioned in one person here is kinda hard. If there was though I am under the impression they will be activated pretty soon. The archipelago is in a precipice...
So, It makes sense to recruit outside of the first responders, as they would have been the first to come into contact with those infected if the bio has not been identified, this would put them at the most risk for contracting the virus. In a major attack that was going on i.e. 9/11 they would already be deployed if the order would be issued, so that said you need those that would be less likely to come into first contact with the event.
For all of you who say you would volunteer to be a division agent. You can do that as you are now. If you live in the USA and are a law abiding citizen without a criminal record you can purchase a firearm, get trained in the proficient use of said firearm (if you are in a place that does not allow for the private possession of firearms learn self defense), get trained in first aid and about disaster preparedness, take the needed action so that you and your loved ones will have what you need to survive in the event of a disaster. In Emergency and Disaster planning one of the most important things taught is that the first people to respond to an Emergency or disaster are the local citizens. Research the most likely disasters that might happen where you live and take the necessary steps to be ready should one happen. Being prepared before hand means fewer things to stress about if it happens.
