I had a Jewish patient yesterday and she asked me about my background and vice versa. Their was an awkward silence between us at first and then we just had to talk about Palestine and she was just so traumatised by what is happening. It was our shared humanity that brought us together. Its little moments like this that gives me some comfort. Not a lot but some.
One question, can a Jew say im Jew in Palestine??? Whre as Muslim are freely roaming n supporting Palestine in Jewish Israel🤔 what do Surah maidah 51 and Sahi bukhari 2926 say ? ? I have just been listening to the witness podcast from the BBC about the creation of the Israel state in 1948 . First listening to a witness on the Jewish side celebrating the newly formed state. Then listening to a Palestine talking about his feelings. So heartbreaking. I find now even when I'm out walking, in such beautiful surroundings, I'm thinking of what the Palestinians are going through and it's so sad😢. It has angered me a couple of times on the telly on This morning, whenever someone speaks up on the Palestine side , they seem to be cut off suddenly 😮 .
I will never understand anyone who can sabotage aid for starving people. I feel like my heart is breaking in the never ending circle of horror. I was hoping to articulate some of how others maybe felling .. it can feel so isolating can’t it . I can tell when people just want me to shut up about it . But I can’t .. not when it’s all so present and urgent . The western media simply have no interest because it’s so complicated for them to criticise ANYTHING that the Israeli government do in fear of being called antisemitic . I feel as though the world is imploding. Man seems to have learnt nothing from the past. I feel guilty that I don't actively seek out the evidence of what is going on, but I do it for self protection of my mental health. It's weird but by watching a video of any atrocity, it feels like it's an intrusion on the victim and that I'm putting the victim through the ordeal again and again. It's hard to explain. I hear and felt every word Nadia 😢. I have got to the point where I feel numb at times and then very overwhelmed with a tsunami of emotions. To the point that I am lost for words to express how I feel and can't talk about the absolute double standard of what is going on. I come at it from a human perspective and also as an Arab who has a connection to Palestinians through my grandparents. Nadia, all we can do is pray and protest at the moment. Completely identify with you what your saying Nadia. It’s getting to the point where I’m giving to hope on anyone with some power putting a stop to all of this! How much of a hell do the families of Palestine have to endure before anyone attempts to save them 😫 I said on October 8th, “everyone’s going to be wiped up this time, Israel has the green light now” that’s pretty much what they’ve done! We’ve seen a new type of evil emerge from this, not just with what’s going on there, but the attitudes and lack care towards other human. Devastated. I can’t believe we live in a world where we’re allowing this to happen. They are raised in a state of perpetual fear and under the (mostly imaginary) threat of violence. Just a constant barrage of “it’s either them or us”. Palestinians don’t want to wipe out all Jews or all Israelis, they just want to be left alone to live their lives with dignity and autonomy. It’s not much to ask for!!!!
How can others not see their own babies in those pictures of their babies? How are we not all the same? Why don’t people care about others? Most won’t speak about it or engage with posts. It’s completely ignored. They are completely ignored. We have laws and polices to protect people but there there are no rules? As a History teacher it’s like watching the worst parts of all I have studied happen so quickly to such a small population of people. This is why we talk about bystanders and the power that they give to wrongs continuing. We all need to realise the power we can have collectively and scream and shout. Every day I feel like I’m in a movie screaming but no one's listening. I was going through cancer surgery during the time of Oct. But everything stopped again. Every moment I've spent since has been thinking about Palestine. The suffering I've seen pales into comparison with anything else. I was fully aware of the Palestinian situation before then. Like you my relationship with everything has changed. The world, my friends. I seem to be the only one posting about it in my circle. Not one of my friends has spoken about it. I feel like ending every single friendship I have because I feel how can I be friends with people who are oblivious to this. How can people I've know for 30+ years be standing on the wrong side of history by their silence. Would they turn their backs on me too being a Muslim. Now I feel that they would. Like you I've felt rage, sadness, anger, helpless, depression and even felt suicidal. Some days I feel hopeful, some days, completely helpless. Some days I delete the social media Apps because I need to think of my mental health and cancer recovery. But again I find myself up all night and day reading about more atrocities committed by our own governments and the occupiers. I've seen the blown up limbless bodies of babies, children, women and men. Scraps of what's left of children carried in plastic bags like cuts of meat. Thousands of videos, that make me scream out loud, make me drop to the floor. If I had a platform I'd post these so that the (‘General, protected in a bubble, Public) could see the horror. It's time.
You are not alone in how you feel dear kind caring human. I am stunned ( and a bit afraid and disturbed!!!) by the lack of voices screaming for this Israeli onslaught to stop. And not just stop but for the picture to change. The Palestinians deserve our supprt. They deserve a dignified life. Ahhh Nadia thank you so much for posting this, I feel EXACTLY the same way with everything you've said. I can't believe what's happening, the trauma and the impact & the silence is deafening! I'm not Palestinian, my mother is British & my father is Libyan so I grew up with my parents actively having conversations particularly about the o.ppression of the Palestinian people. The hypocrisy & double standards od the world have really been cracked open as a result of this g3nocide. Some days I'm angry, most days I'm deeply saddened and shocked by what I'm seeing. Gaza is in my heart and mind all the time in everything I do and feel. Thank you Nadia. I was out in Bath city centre on Saturday and there was a ceasefire peace march for Palestine, I just burst into tears as they walked past and my god did they bang a loud drum which was so appropriate, I didn’t know what to do, I wanted to get up and go with them but I was there with my partner so I couldn’t just get up and leave him and felt so privileged and bad for not doing anything. I just rose my hand in the air in the middle of the busy outside bar area and cried. I don’t care if people thought I was stupid, but within minutes I could hear the couple on the table behind me on their phones looking up what’s happening in Gaza, if the march hadn’t happened, nobody would have thought anything of it, but it created a disturbance and it was so moving. It didn’t stop the feelings of helplessness but It made a noise in a very busy city.
The more we see the more devastating, but it’s happening, and we’re the lucky ones, and people need to know and see, so good on you for continuing to share facts and emotions xx
I hate whats happening in Gaza, Nadia. I find it hard to believe that no-one in parliament , media, hollywood or the music industry seem to be speaking out. The images are awful and i pray everyone gets saved and these barbaric acts stop. I cant talk about it to anyone and im shocked at my neighbours attitude towards it all and he claims to be Christian. I want it all to stop but it actually feels like a hopeless situation we all find ourselves. Our hands are tied and nothing we seem to do is helping the situation as the people who can stop this are doing nothing. It's heartbreaking! Your heart is pure Nadia and no matter how much this is tearing you apart, you keep fighting for people to wake up tonwjats actually happening. My heart is broken like yours nadia...I am Catholic....my degree was in theology and philosophy. ...I studied all those beautiful survivors of the holocaust. .....elie wiesel, Victor Frankl, primo levi...who wrote if this is a man....a most beautiful book....and who in his 70s jumped of a roof because he couldn't live with bystanders guilt....all that we all endured with the holocaust. ...and not just Jewish people. .......many other religions. ...but the horrors of it.....and now the Jewish government been allowed to behave like nazis beyond comprehension

I’m so devastated and heartbroken. I have long been a supporter of the Palestine liberation for many years. I have never seen anything so horrific, and it’s more devastating that still continuing without any support from our so called democratic governments! I have been struggling with my mental health and have had to distance myself, which is nothing compared to what our brothers and sisters are going through in Palestine, and all good Jewish people being silenced because they want peace!!! How twisted and messed up?? Our governments have made this worse with their constant gas lighting, and pitting us against them! I’ve been finding it difficult to find joy in anything I do, my mind and I heart are constantly thinking about their grief and suffering. I have the hope Nadia and faith that it will come to end and take comfort in the fact that millions upon millions have been awaken and now know of about Palestinian struggle because of this genocide. I'm sure your parents are so proud of you and in awe of your efforts to be their voice in a time they didn't have one. They finally have a voice. We all are their voices now. I am sorry you Guys. Even though its devastating. Because of lived experience and knowledge of PLO in the past. (Olympics in the seventies, in Munich) Plus October 7th. I am with the Israelis I was deeply disturbed by that. I cancelled my subscription but have joined again. But will only watch content that doesn't show anything to do with the conflict.😢 What happened on October 7th. Also having met with a Jewish survivor of the Holocaust. I am with the Israelis. I hope some form of agreement can be accomplished.

Turning away is not the answer either. Just because you don’t watch the video doesn’t stop it happening! It’s hard not to let it overwhelm everything and that’s the balance Nadia is trying to find, but for me the idea of just ignoring it is so utterly selfish and abhorrent
nads 🥹💛. Just wanted to reach into the screen and give you a big hug. Everything you said X100 🙌🏻. I feel such a guilt daily when I see and read everything that’s going on, I get such a feeling of helplessness. You are such an empath like me and that can come with total exhaustion because we care soo soo deeply. Personally I don’t know how anyone can’t feel human emotion towards slaughtering of innocence. I get told I need to take breaks from engaging in what’s going on but I can’t turn a blind eye. For example - People seemed soo engaged in everything that happened in Ukraine, opening their homes to them so they had a place to live and total outrage. why is it not looked at the same for the people of Gaza? And they say this isn’t racism. It’s beyond. I feel helpless most of the time and quite alone with it if I’m honest, as sometimes I feel ppl just want me to shutup. Which is why chats from you and mark are soo important, we all need a safe place to come and discuss and be there for one another.
