One key factor I forgot to mention with these tests where the plate began to fail at around 50% was we were using ammunition right below the stopping power of the plate! If you have ammunition much lower in penetration then the plate will continue to stop rounds.
An in-depth analysis of all the plates would be really helpful. I'm pretty high level and there is a lack of information regarding this type of stuff. I notice a lot of the plates are quest locked, if you know what quests unlock which plates as well that would be huge as it's not even fully on the wiki and I don't have time to binge watch streamers with max traders. Best armor video I've seen yet though, didn't realize the side plates had the same hitboxes. Also the Zuk bug got patched yesterday, so you might want to make an edit in the corner of the video.
I have found 2 very good plates. They are both made out of UHMWP. One is lvl 3, the other is level 5. They have fanatic durability and protection for their weight. The level 3 one weighs less than half a kilo and I like to use it in the back armor of my rigs to keep me light. The level 5 one is also great, at about 1 kilo, and it still has great durability. The level 3 one can be purchased on the flea for around 15-20k rubles most of the time.
Hi everyone ! After this mess with unheard edition, more and more people switch to spt-aki (PVE Tarkov,) so... I wanted to tell about 'Realism Mod'. So basically, one of the features that this mod changes is ballistics. So, imagine 9mm AP shot into 4 level armor. Basically, with the mod, even if it didn't penetrate the armor, it still will do quite some damage to the player, AND it will surely do greater damage to the armor itself. With the mod almost all ammo got boost, and actually feel like ammo.
Great video, I would love to see another one explaining more in depth on what armors are good throughout progression , and taking into account how hard they are to obtain. Thanks for the good vid as always Pink
Good Job with the video, you explained every concept worth mentioning thoroughly and this info could definitely save the life of your PMC if applied correctly.
Other tests that have been shared around the community has shown armor plate durability doesn’t affect penetration chance at the moment. A 1/40 durability plate and 40/40 durability plate keeps the same pen chance and acts as the full armor class. Not sure if this is intended, but it makes changeable plate armors somewhat better than inbuilt armor. e.g. the Rat Rig with inbuilt lvl 4 armor steel still has increasing pen chance with damage, whereas 6B13 steel plates don’t.
i never run a backplate if they are behind me i just know my skills arent good enough to turn around and murder them before they get me so like writtenon a claymore i follow the principle of "front twoards enemy "
This is helpful thank you! You replied to me a couple days ago and im a new tarkov player. The one thing I dont understand thats driving me mad.. I cab have a level 4 helmet or face shield, than like a 9mm pistol or a .300 vmax would hit me twice. It wouldnt pen and I would die from blunt damage. Like wtf! Whats the damn point of a helmet if you just die instantly from blunt damage from small rounds..
Hey pink! Combined mats, aramid, and polymer plates have been and are still in the game, how do they stack up against the hard plates? By destructibility, they should be better generally, but is there some blunt difference I'm not aware of? Should I ever consider running soft plates? Thanks
Question, so if the hitboxes are, with few exceptions, the same no matter what they look like as long as they mention the specific part, would that mean the plated rigs are not as useless as they seem? was thinking trying CPC (the one with a couple 3 slot mag boxes on adition to 4 slot and 2 slots) because based on that, despite only having aramid 2, might be worth the tradeoff for mobility and "stealth" (cause I would go green weight) since I can place side plates and has side aramid, sure has no neck, shoulder or groin protection but if I get hit less it might be worth it over the assault osprey or the korund
One thing you didnt cover is some of the armours are bugged so the armours that have their own shapes like the steel one that has groin protection, the last round that the plate takes ie it doesnt have the hp to stop the round will go right though the soft armour insta killing as if theres no soft armour bunch of people found it in testing so i wouldnt use any of the armour that have thier own special shaped plates becuase yoh will die as soon as the plate is to low as theres no soft armour.
This is a good point, but plates are usually pretty durable. I have not yet experienced a plate getting zero'd on durability yet: typically you die to another hit location before then.
Nobody have made a video with the plate that have the best hitbox protection. And now with ur video we have one more half decent avaliation of armor. Everyone rushing for views and incapable of doing the best information we could have.
U spent half the video explaining something everybody knows and the other half with new stuff that others have already done. The only thing me and all other veterans are looking for now is the plate hitbox analisys and if there is difference interacting with different armors. Thats it. But good job anyway, ur effort is appreciated anyway
People just wanna know whats best its so dumb they add so many armors etc but people just use yhe same handful of armors its an L and idk why they didnt keep it how it was
