Conner Peters OMG i am 3 min into the video and skipped through the ridiculous Cummins in a Mustang talk . He hooks up the dead battery last sparking it 3 or 4 times . I was waiting for the battery to blow up in his fat face ! Then looking to see if the fan is in the rad .. Who cares ?? The cooling fan is connected to the rad shroud . This boy should really find a hew hobby !!!
If you are gonna make comments insulting the host of the show and being so critical, maybe learn how to write a legible sentence and spell it correctly.
Your better off buying a whole frame and going from there 16 years in the auto body biz not worth playing with it if she's bent that bad and the welds are cracked like that expertly catalog it !
Came to say exactly this. That frame is bent, tweaked, twisted, borked, cracked, folded, spindled, and mutilated. Time for a new one, Westen! I know it's probably the most expensive option, but it's also the safest as far as I know.
anthony Rocha I agree to a certain extent as far as a kink because as i am sure you know one kink leads to another . On a 2017 F-150 I straightened a frame a year ago that the front horns were pulled in just over 8 inches both sides after meeting a poll . The front turned out laser straight . Released most of the rivets on the engine cross member and replaced the front horn cross member . The whole repair consisted of a solid 8 hour day that was with a creative fix replacing the rivets . It was cheaper / stronger and less time than replacing the entire frame . The problem i find with these trucks is the aluminum bodies . Military grade my ass lol . Both front body mounts ripped apart and the rears distorted . The next salvage F-150 i buy or repair i will definitely look closer at the aluminum body than the frame . Welding on the frame is a piece of cake but the aluminum is a pain . The aluminum these trucks and as you know must aluminum hoods (DODGE) have so much impurities it is tricky and time consuming to weld .
Westen, wish you all the best on getting more subscribers. You certainly deserve it! Keep up the good work! Really looking forward to this raptor build I've been watching your channel since the 7.3 ford.
Laurier it isn't so much the damage , the problem is what kind of truck it is . It is not like anyone can run to the scrap yard and go Ford Raptor pickin for parts . These Raptors are 6 inches wider than a F-150 . Raptors have their own frames , bodies ... EVERYTHING on that truck is different than that of a everyday F-150 . I purchased a 2004 years ago that was salvage . When i went to purchase parts i dam near shit my drawers . 95% of Raptor parts are double if not triple in price
I love these frame vids. I shake my head when people junk their truck over a rusty rocker panel...and here is motivation like this taking on the impossible. Very inspiring. I weld my own, for getting old, lucky old trucks.
@@zabia92 I had three Silverado ads and one truck bed cover ad. They only Chevy/GM things I have looked at in a very long time is Gale Banks "Killing a Duramax" series.
Might be easier to pull the bed, and check/measure for square. I doubt it will be good. Beautiful truck. Makes me sick to see so much damage. The frame is the weakest part of the truck. That's seems kinda back-ass-wards, isn't it?
I have to say this is the first time facebook video has EVER pointed me to a good channel. Normally I just scroll through whilst having a ciggy until facebook crashes but glad I found this channel.
hpkntnw where do you get a frame ??? Raptors are 6 inches wider than a regular F-150 and there isn't an over abundance of them in scrap yards to pick from !
477K. Garrett was interacting a lot, love it. The knocking on the engine was too funny. Poor Westen had no idea. Looks like a lot of work on this project, can't wait to see the finish. Love ya lots!!
I bought 2014 f150 Tuscany. Wrecked front end. I replaced the whole frame with one out of a junkyard. Frame was $1,000. These trucks are meant to come apart easy. I highly advise replacing the whole frame. Cant wait to see the videos on it
I completely agree with you but its easier to pull it back out straight as possible then cut it off and add a new piece if he was to buy an entire frame it'll take months before hes finished with it
@@DatBoiOrly It'd be easier to swap parts over to another frame.. to replace that section would require removing a lot of the parts like engine, front suspension, cab etc. Then you still have to try and repair it. A frame bent that bad likely the damage would transfer further back and throughout the frame.
Hey mate! Love the content! Wanted to share my story of how I ended up here. I started getting recommended GOONSQUAD vids, love em! Then they got there vehicles yanked around by the v Tunened garage and started watching him, love em. Then I started getting your vids recommended and low and behold, LOVE EM!
Maaate that's the long way round I just went straight to Westen's site , the problem is I can't get away , I've seen just about all he has put out and I'm still here , help ????? Jetty you from Qld ???? I am. ( this is going sound good , I saw your pineapple )
id start on ebay, they have the hood and the front frame clip and more, do a search on Ford F-150 ,F150 ,Front Frame Unit Section 2016 Fits 2015-2016-2017-2018-2019
To align up 2 frame sections and graft them together its quite easy, Using a square and a tape measure you find holes common yo both frames ,punched in both frames and use them as reference points for the splice,. using precise measuring you butt the top and botthon of the 2 frames together but on the side rails you overlap both frames and use the pre punched holes to align the 2 into perfect alignment, using bolts thru those holes to krrp the alignment. Then for me , i used a stick welder and some 6013 rod for the welds, and you can additionally plate the butt welded area after if you wish. building up the truck from there.
I advise a complete frame replacement/ I hit a tree with my 91 GMC once, body shop said the frame was accordioned all the way back, I'll bet yours is too.
CptBlackbeardlives where do you get a frame except big $$$ at the dealer ??? Raptors are 6 inches wider than a regular F-150 and there isn't an over abundance of them in scrap yards to pick from that also haven't been hit !
@@CptBlackbeardlives : Sorry BlackBeard but i did see the video that is why i commented . I don't work at Mcdonalds Sir . Been doing this for 37 years in Ontario Canada where where our motor vehicle governing body is much stricter than that of any state in the USA . In-fact that truck has a Bio-Hazard title on it and would NEVER see the road here again no matter what ! Wait and see if it is actually a Raptor frame . Funny the scrap yard says waiting 6 months then 2 months and then all of a sudden there is a frame . Does not look like a Raptor frame to me . That frame looks like a F-150 frame . These trucks are unique in every way and the Raptor frame is caught between a F-150 and a F-250 . Just too bad this truck is an Eco-Boost though . Wait till he has to repair the floor pockets where the body mounts are lol . Been down this road with these aluminum floors !
Ford: We will make the Raptor have really strong suspension so it can go jump and have fun! Raptor frame: Not going to make me stronger? Ford: Nope! Raptor: Gets into crash Suspension: Perfectly fine Frame: Gets screwed by suspension
