Love it or hate it, this history of baseball is a mirror image of the history of America. Even with the ups and downs of the game, it’s a beautiful thing to behold.
Good stuff from the baseball guys, always find it wild how slow the yanks were to adjust to the most basic human rights (some would argue still are) yet police the world on their moral high horse. Anyhow, going to NYC for a wedding next & hope to catch a game
American football never excluded African American players like Major League Baseball did. There were African American college football stars as early as the 1890’s such as George Flippin. Keep in mind that until the 1970’s college football and Major League Baseball were the most popular sports in the us.
@@georgehenan853 They did just for a much briefer period of time based on 1 very racist owners will. Baseballs colorline was more a fact of life for a few generations whereas footballs color barrier really just hit 1 during the peak of racism in America(interwar period).
