The reason women don't have pockets is due to the WANT of the purses. Everyone wanted purses (including men at first), just dried out into a standard for women
I found that video boring. The most shocking to me was the MLK video because of how well established and confirmed the theory is and yet nobody knows about it.
I fell asleep a few times watching that, its so many rapid fire theories and he dosnt go in detail on any of them really, just acknowledges the existence of like 1,000+ different theories lol
The reason jerky is so expensive is because it’s dehydrated, so your getting 3x more meat than he’s thinking. It’s just weighs less because is has no moisture.
@Vex Presentation is very important with food. If a cake looked like a pile of shit you'd need to be very used to knowing its good cake to be willing to eat it. And even then the appearance might make you gag just on reflex despite no smell. If a bag of food looks empty. It doesn't matter if it's 3 times more food than it looks. It still looks like 3 times less and, as such, is perceived as a scam. Which it might intentionally be anyway because any marketer would know that
Travis Walton incident was an interesting case, because they had well paid jobs, and it absolutely tanked their careers for the rest of their lives, and none of the 6 ever changed their stories, and all 6 of them pass polygraph tests, not just 1, which is still not much evidence, but does increase the possibility that they at least believed what they said. I don't think it was an alien abduction (or extremely unlikely), but with MK Ultra type experiments occuring in those times, I can imagine that type of issue happening.
@@username_pending1328 Yes they aren't relied on as solid evidence alone, but six accounts beating the polygraph is kinda wild if that's the case. Not saying I would believe someone based on that alone, but it would definitely make me look into it. 5 passed and 1 inconclusive btw.
@@username_pending1328 Absolutely, it's still not easy though, I think, and five people (barring military trained individuals etc.) in a single group beating it is kinda weird. Could be planned ofc, just my thoughts on it.
When you look more into the story it just gets sad, after disappearing for days maybe even weeks he shows up naked and in a sort of trance. It really seems like he was either hurt by his friends or someone else knocked him out and that he was kidnapped and/or drugged only to eventually be let go or escape. His friends account, him and his family’s obsession with aliens, that bs ‘therapy’ session, and his gaps in memory all worked to make him believe it was 100% due to aliens and that likely stopped him from getting help for the real trauma he went through
whether or not you believe travis whaltons story, you can tell from interviews that he truly believes it happened to him and that it has traumatized him and has legitimately effected his family and social life, as well as his mental health. its really sad.
The Walton story is 100% fabricated. There was a bounty for $10,000 for anyone who could find proof of UFOs at the time he was abducted. Him, and his friends were very poor and desperate for money. Not only did Walton fail the lie detector test live on TV, but instead of going to the police after he turned back up, his friends & brother went directly to the news media to report he was found in order to collect the 10,000 dollars. There’s this constant lie that gets thrown around that they all passed a lie detector test which is completely not true. Also in every single one of his interviews he never makes direct eye contact & is always looking away which is a massive sign of someone lying.
Most jerky companies use pretty terrible ingredients too. I can't remember but I'm pretty sure there is a chemical they use that is understood as probably carcinogenic
As someone who makes jerky as a hobby, I'll never understand why people don't realize that you pay that much for jerky because it was a lot more meat when it was still wet. It is quite literally a 4:1 weight ratio. 4 pounds of fresh meat will create approximately one pound of jerky. Now go to your local grocery store and buy 4 pounds of decent beef and curing/smoking materials and tell me how angry you still are about jerky being "overpriced". Good lord.
Not really. Meat is expensive and it takes 4 pounds of fresh meat to make a pound of jerky. If you use your brain it's pretty easy to see why jerky is expensive as it is, especially when taking into account the curing/drying process.
Damn bro look out the Jerky defenders are all in on the scam, the slim Jim cult are bigger than any of us could imagine. Perhaps it's a disguise for money laundering 😬
Something also interesting about the beef jerky, I have been to many shopping centers on various military bases and while everything there is generally cheaper (and tax free), I always make sure to buy beef jerky because it's like 3 to 4 fucking dollars! An actually reasonable price! So I can 100% agree that they literally double the price of it for no reason.
The 2 most unexplained and un-officially debunkable Alien Abduction cases are: Pier Fortunato Zanfretta, he claimed to have been abducted 11 times and he worked as a Police Guard for years. They’d found him traumatized outside in cold mornings with creepy Giant Footprints on the ground, along with weird landing markings. Ausso One case: A Hunter says he saw an Alien after he fired his Rifle at an Elk, the bullet hit something metal in front of him. The alien was apparently friendly and gave him a quick trip to his planet before saying he wasn’t what they needed. The Hunter was found injured from falling, they actually found the squished bullet, and strangely the scarring on his Lungs from surgery was entirely gone.
i wrote up an entire explanation for this case a few months ago which i sadly lost. in any case the brief summary was that I really think it was a folie a deux situation, with betty being the driving force behind the delusion, and barney finally accepting the delusion further down the line. i wish i could remember everything i researched from then, but there's plenty of psychological explanations that don't involve aliens
Dude i work in grocery stores doing resets and we did a jerky reset a few months ago and it was one of the easiest resets bc the bags were so small and empty. The jerky conspiracy is SO TRUE. Everything is expensive rn but jerky was just absurd, even discontinued jerky that was marked down was way too expensive
I believe the think is something called harrp or haarrp or harp. Some variation of those is the thing said to be able to influence/control the weather there.
When making beef jerky, the process of dehydration often reduces the weight by 2/3. So if you have 9 ounces of steak, it will become roughly 3 ounces of beef jerky. When you pay $8 for 3 ounces of beef jerky, its like getting a 9 ounce steak for $8.
I’ve worked in the meat industry for the last four years and without a doubt can tell you that when you can buy a whole case of flats or knuckles for less than four or five dollars per pound then turn around and charge around 20$ a pound for the jerky you are absolutely robbing people. Not to mention I doubt they’re using whole pristine cuts of beef to slice jerky from and two these costs im familiar with are from the covid era so there’s no telling just how cheap they get meat in bulk being a giant corporation without a pandemic going on. There’s absolutely no way to justify the price gouging on beef jerky regardless of how much it shrinks during the process
@@ryanb6614 Isn't that good, though? Beef fat isn't exactly the best thing to be eating. Just to check, I did a quick google search. "Beef Tallow", "Beef Suet", or its common name, "Beef Fat", has almost zero protein and zero carbohydrates. On average, one ounce of beef fat has 241 calories, 0 carbohydrates, and less than half a gram of protein. It has 26.65 grams of fat, 14.83 of which are saturated fat, and 8.94 are monounsaturated fat, with the remaining being polyunsaturated fat.
@@Churdington what does that have to do with anything i said, all I've stated was that companies don't use steak they use cheap $2-$4 a lb cuts @ wholesale cost, steaks have intramuscular fat which makes it harder to dehydrate & are a great source of energy & flavor. fat is required for proper hormone production as well & grass fed beef fat is a healthy source i make my own jerky with the same cuts @ $7 an lb retail cost & my jerky is still significantly cheaper & better than buying jack links.
Costco's brand of Jerky is the first time I've gotten what I feel is an acceptable amount for my money, 12 dollars for a full pound of solid good pieces is a really solid price
Just a side note, increased levels of radiation has been found on the trees near where Walton claims to have been abducted, not to mention their was mutations in the trees rings/growth.
As someone who made homemade beef jerky, it is a pretty reasonable price. It takes forever and it has to be consistent quality, (which you don't get every batch ever.) But it's also taking a crazy toll on whatever your drying it in.
Maybe it’s just my personal taste, but I actually despise jack links and other name brand beef jerky. I’ve never had fresh jerky, but spending $8 - $12 on a tiny packet of chewy meat that actually tastes like the bottom of my shoe is just not it man. I would love to try some fresh quality jerky.
Yeah but paying $8 and getting a tiny amount for highly processed jerky meat is insane. The vast majority of store bought jerky is not at all like home made jerky.
1:50 No Way?!? Preparing food at home is cheaper then going out and having someone else prepare your food?!?! Restaurant and grocery store owners need to hear this!!
If it was made w care and not mass produced I would agree. But, anything mass produced can afford to throw a couple extra pieces. It’s not as if at Jack Links there’s 5 guys making every individual batch. It’s fully industrial.
Charlie! You gotta get a pellet smoker to run your jerky at home. Not only is it cheaper, but it tastes insanely better too! It doesn't even make any sense how big jerky can make it taste so bad while charging so much.
@@zachrion you didn’t look it up did you. They actually made the skies clear so they can host the olympics or celebrate events. Just a quick search my man
Never heard or saw the beef Jerry scam thing but as soon as he explained its the price to amount equation I was like yeah bro I been saying that for years
If you mean weather control then it's obvious that we can't control the weather, droughts, hurricanes, tornados, ice storms aren't under anyone's control
In this case which is more likely? 1: An alien visited earth, abducted a person 2: A guy said to his friends maybe we can make up an alien claim and benefit from it

the reason jerky costs so much is because you lose 70-75% of the beef weight when it is dehydrated. But when u consider these companies are buying in huge bulk they're probably getting 10 LB for $10. which would make 2LB of jerky, so yes it is a scam but so is all premade food at grocery stores, because they are making it in mass bulk (90% reduction in cost of ingredients) and selling it more expensive then u can make it yourself. Big fast food chains / big grocery stores are the biggest food scammers though, the ones who are selling to consumers.
To be fair to jerky, you pay for the fact they have to hold the things drying and curing for months, of course if you use your own house it'll be cheaper. He also makes the argument, slim Jims aren't dehydrated, they're greased beef and mechanical separated chicken and unsurprisingly they are way cheaper.
Always so sad to see these kids in twitch chat… ”Cocaine does that to you” Like child pls…cocaine isnt even psychadelic. Stick to your fathers alchohols instead
I love when that alien abduction story comes up because I was raised in Snowflake, and one thing that I never see mentioned is that Snowflake is primarily inhabited by Mormons. Or at least was in the 1980's when I lived there. And I think that is important because of how gullible Mormons can be.
Well yeah, Jerky is way overpriced for what you get. But so is Pizza. My god pizzas are so overpriced for dough, cheese and sauce. And most of the times, the toppings are made with cheap soy filler. No way is Pizza worth what it’s sold for.
A large pepperoni pizza from a pizza chain costs around $12 on average, and it lasts me 3-4 meals. $3 a meal is not what most people would consider "overpriced"
There's a convenience store on the base I work at and they occasionally have 1lb. bags of Jack Link's for $12.99. Literally the only time I consider buying it.
With jerky, I think part of it is that you're paying them to process meat in a way that makes it taste worse. The quality is lower and the cost of production is higher.
copied from my last comment because I can't be asked to type it out again Not really. Meat is expensive and it takes 4 pounds of fresh meat to make a pound of jerky. Beef jerky is a steal compared to a lot of things you can find in a grocery store. Cereal is often made of corn or rice, rice is dirt cheap and corn is one of the most subsidized crops in America, these ingredients are extremely cheap and the profit margin on these products can’t even be compared to jerky. Soda is also far higher margin than jerky. Also lightly flavored seltzers like LaCroix. Not to mention bottled water, that’s the worst scam by far. I truly could go on and on, beef jerky is nowhere near the countless products sold in stores when it comes to bad value. I don’t know what Charlie is on about when he says he got a 6 pound bag of cereal for 2 dollars, but he needs to plug where he got it because that’s not reality. Guy needs to open his eyes the next time he’s in a grocery store, maybe he’ll notice the endless cases of worse deals than jerky if he does that.
It cost roughly 12.70$ and 2 days to make 2 lbs (32oz) of beef jerky at home, of the same if not better quality than you would get pre packaged. At 5.85oz per “large” bag of jerky at a price of 9.78$ per bag thats 53.49$ for the same amount of jerky, looking at a markup of approximately 321.1%. But sure, beef jerky is “not a scam”. Prices for meat, seasonings, marinade, and pre packed jerky all sourced from Walmart to keep things fair.
Idk about everywhere but where I live Sweet Baby Rays beef jerky is pretty cheap. It’s mega bags are 4 dollars and a normal bag is 2 dollars. They line it up right next to Jack links and the Jack Links bag is 4 dollars and 6 for a big one
