Because they thought he would be a better president than trump, which he honestly was. His cognitive health is terrible, but what he’s actually done, I would say is pretty good when you consider how shitty of a country trump handed Biden. People thinking the election was rigged, terrible handling of Covid, a very split America; Biden has probably done the best he could with what he was given. Trump would not be doing better, he would probably be doing worse. So it’s like you have two bad presidents, so people will vote for the lesser of two bads.

This is genuinely creepy. I’m not laughing, I’m not angry, I’m genuinely unnerved. Edit: whatever the context is, or whatever political cult you follow, it shouldn’t matter. This was off putting no matter what the situation was. I don’t believe he’s a diddler, but it was creepy. Regardless, I feel terrible for focusing so much on the president instead of the families that lost someone at this shooting. I can’t blame anyone for shifting focus, this is wild, but at this point I want to think about the families instead.

This is exactly everything wrong with how America handles school shootings. Hate to sound like an old fart but all that ever happens after every shooting is pointing fingers instead of figuring out what we can do to prevent another one, half-hearted, awful public addresses like this that only prove that the issue isn’t being taken seriously, then comes complaints about how it’s the newer generations’ fault in some way, rinse and repeat. Nothing gets done, and actual *children* are dying horrific deaths as a result. I hope those 6 victims rest well, and I hope the survivors and Nashville in general can find peace one day. Biden should be ashamed.
@@thecourier9290 Yeah that’s the most troubling aspect since certain factors do need to be addressed, but the ones that are tend to be either irrelevant or scapegoating with this being a perfect example. The shooter happens to be a trans man, and that’s been where a lot of people are putting the blame (basically using it as an excuse to be transphobic) when the actual focus should be how he was someone with aggressive behavior that was easily able to legally purchase assault rifles. There’s a lot of red flags on the surface alone. This was a preventable situation, it just needs to be discussed how similar cases can be prevented. (A pattern is easy access to not just weapons but assault weapons, the lack of background checks and heck even the lack of gun training courses for people who want to buy a gun (since how a person behaves in practice can be a telltale sign of danger.)) Part of that unwillingness does come from fear of change, especially once you consider the common argument of using the second amendment to justify why easy gun access is okay.

Most people agree that a mass shooting is an event where 1 or more people go into public and try to kill as many people as possible with a firearm, however there is no real definition however organizations like the fbi claim a mass shooting is an event where 3 or more people are shot and either injured or killed. Most of those 133 mass shootings were actually self defence situations with multiple robbers or 2 robbers and a victim or a robber and multiple victims, or they are gang shootings with little or no civilian death
Also, if you see statistics on school shootings, those are also fucked. Most school shootings are someone committing suicide in a school parking lot or near a school. Very few of them statistically are what people consider a mass shooting
