My husband told a mutual friend of ours, after our first date, that he was going to marry me... It was a double date with that friend and his girlfriend. Although I had met him when this friend brought him to our home to hang out with a bunch of friends. I was 17. He put an engagement ring on my hand the night I graduated high school. Not what I expected. We were married over 48 years when he passed away.

My sister met her husband in the September, was engaged to him in October, married to him in the following February and that was over 10 years ago and they’re still together and have had a couple of lovely kids

@@lizzie6433 She canceled a concert at the last minute with a flimsy excuse. I was a freshman at UGA. It didn't go over well. Saw Steve Martin perform that same year.. Never laughed so much in my life. He played the banjo too. 2 yrs prior BB King performed. My brother was a campus cop then. He came home to fetch me. He got me in the hear a legend. So it wasn't like Bet was coming to a backwater. I haven't liked her since then. I'm age 67 now & like her even less!

I am sure it didn't go over well.I did see her once when I was young at the Copacobana.Many many years later I worked in a store and she came in to buy a necklace.I put it on her, and she was asking for a discount! She didn't say hello, goodbye, just self-entitled, and rude. I did not give her a discount! LOL. I am glad you had a great time seeing Steve Martin. Oh great about BB King. Have a great summer.

@@lizzie6433 Yes, not surprised about Bet's attitude. Yes, it's rather warm & humid here in Auburn, AL, but am resisting the urge to turn on the AC. Hate giving $ to the power company. We all grew up without AC. It's just my dog & me here, so we both go native, use the fan & ice packs.
