After noticing flashes and floaters in her eyes, Beverly visited her local Specsavers optician. After a thorough eye test he advised her to go to hospital if the problem got significantly worse. Two days later she recognised the symptoms he described and went to hospital. A specialist diagnosed a retinal tear and was able to perform laser surgery straight away. The tear was repaired quickly therefore saving her sight.

Yes, laser is done in the office not the hospital as long as you went to a retina specialist.

I'm in UK. Laser surgery in hospital, not sedated, awake sitting in a chair. They apply local anesthetic to the eye so you can't feel the lens that they laser through. I was unlucky, 6 weeks later my retina detachment broke through the initial laser scarring and I've had to have it done again. The second doctor also lasered though a blood supply and my vision went red and cloudy, not pleasant. My sight is clearing but I have the most awful black floaters that are obscuring my vision, which apparently are clumps of blood or gel.

Specsavers never again I was told I just needed new glasses $600 later nothing changed I was told I need to get used to my new glasses I decided to go to competent opthalmologist turns out I had cataracts , and they would not refund the cost of glasses, just a bunch of charlatans
