Rockstar Games has been dominating video games for years. Let's take a look at the numbers and see just how big they really are. Subscribe for more: / gameranxtv

I love rockstar for a few reasons, but mainly because they don't pump mindless shit out every single year. Activision and EA pump out carbon copies every year, at least rockstar takes time to make games.
@@murkywaterz7663 I did say high quality. People often excuse the fact that there was such a long gap between GTA5 and RDR2 because they think Rockstar has always done that in order to preserve quality but in reality they released games every year until GTA 5 came out and all of those games were really good. So why now all of a sudden does it take them so long to release games?
Come on wtf, EA is a peasant to Rockstar, Rockstar is more valuable than EA and Ubisoft Combined... I mean... 1 billion dollars in the 1st 24 hours of the game releasing, that itself is a world record... Making 6 billion of 1 product..., that's mind blowing
Rockstar should just learn the business model of T2 and take over at some point or else they will surely be used as cash cow for T2 just like what happened with 2k Sports now.
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas will always be my favorite so many new mechanics introduced that aren’t in the new ones and that’s what made it the best IMO.
@@Dfins79 I know it's way more then 5 five just had nice graphics if 4 had 5 graphics and nothing else and kept 4 mechanics 4 would easily blow 5 out of the water beside overall gta4 had a higher rating then gta5 so obviously something is missing in 5 that 4 had
Although I do agree that crunch is horrible for everybody, isn't 8 years a bit long? I do agree with giving it enough time that nobody is stressed and cunched
@@Peter-wk5bj yeah I understand that, and I also disagree with the other comment saying that people will just get bored. I suppose I was just more getting at 8 years is quite some time. I 100% agree with you though
Exactly! GTA V came out on only ps3/xb360 in 2013 but still sold more than twice of what CoD ghosts sold even after being available on ps3/xb360/ps4/xb1/pc. Same thing happened last year, rdr2 available on ps4/xb1 still sold more than cod bo4 which was available on ps4/xb1/pc.
Your missing the point, they would be worth less as a company if they became a Sony exclusive which is what they were inferring would happen if Sony purchased them. Not saying your wrong that making a great game is what got them here but that wasn’t what they were saying. Just hey if we can’t sell the game on all these platforms we won’t be worth as much.. makes sense.
It doesn’t bother me that Rockstar takes their time on their games. The games they make are incredible RDR2 took About 8 years and that game is amazing
Rockstar's games last for a decade and are a decade ahead of its time... I could buy a console specifically for a Rockstar game, it wouldn't even be a big deal or bother me
I'm waiting for E.A to buy a Bankruptcy Lawyer, and get the fuck on with they're lives... 😅 Nobody I game with want's E.A around anymore, especially after Anthem..........
Alas Bioware used to be in their company with the Mass Effect trilogy, but no longer:( Totally agree - best gaming over the last decade has been in Witcher 3 and GTAV
Luckily, it's not happening. Rockstar and Take-Two would lose money. Look at the FF7 remake. It's a "timed exclusive." SE would be losing unimaginable amounts of money for it to be a PS exclusive.
No people would not just buy a PS5 a lot of people can't just drop $500 on a new gaming console especially on top of the price of the game and everything you need for the new console and on top of that Xbox and PC combined make much more profit than just PS4 make
@@Gr0llig3r i got 2 money drops this week and im new ive played for a week rank 30 and im a ceo already dude just respect the modders and be nice in chat even though ive only got 120k in total from those 2 modders
@@lt_briggzi8694 but that's not the point is it? The fact that there are people who can ruin your game is also the fact that you are nice to them, because you don't dare to say something otherwise you'd risk your game being ruined
@@hunster_5533 in the case of a Rockstar game, it does mean best. Cod has only one player base, so they keep on buying cod every year. But Rockstar's games are so phenomenal even people who don't play games, plays Rockstar's games.
As fully being supported by them, featured, reposted, and having met them in New York, I can honestly say that they are the greatest company around today. ♥️
How do you know it’s them and not Rockstar? If that’s just off of what you’ve read online or heard than it’s just speculation. Unless someone on here is an employee of Rockstar then there is no way to know. And even then it would be a Rockstar employee saying it so ya never know. Either way I don’t care cause once I pay for a game then that’s it. No micro transactions and all that shit. If the game is good and has dlc I might get it dependent on the size.
Even with all of it's online content being grindy and slightly P2W, it's probably by far the most polished triple A title to do so. When EA or Ubisoft has money hungry titles where it's slightly P2W or it has a lot of loot boxes or something similar, the qaulity of the game doesn't match the output of what I should be spending with my money. I hadn't touched GTA online for the last 5 years because I didn't have friends to play it with and I was off doing other things, but recently i got my friends to grab it on the steam sale and in the last 2 weeks alone I've sank 50+ hours into the game just screwing around, doing missions and building up my criminal Empire. I beat the main story back in 2013 but holy cow is it still providing me entertainment 6 years later even after I put it down for 4 years... super crazy! The only other game that comes close it L4D2 for me.
So, I know this is a joke but the reality is Valve doesn't ever need to release another game. They make stupid amounts of money off Steam. Not only that, but Valve- internally- can't agree on an idea for HL3. Internal arguements, lack of motivation, and no sense of direction along with the firing of HL3's writer means HL3 released never. If you really want a HL3, speak with your wallet: stop supporting Steam. Since that's never going to happen, we still get shitty jokes about it.
And that's a FACT, Jack! Marc Laidlaw leaked the entire script so they have to write up a whole new one for Half-Life 3. I'd be surprised if it ever comes out, they're in development hell right now. They somehow leave files from the game inside other games. Dota 2 had new Combine animations in one of the update files, for some reason.
@@isaacdeherrera7890 nah I think valve shelf the project for hl3. No point in making a new one when most people who worked in previous hl's are no longer working with valve.
@@giovannymb4959 Bethesda is..... idk they have been fucking up recently. I mean sure F4 was a good game, I certainly enjoyed it. It just wasn't that good of a Fallout game and then..... F76 was just horrible and a massive fuck up. I truly hope though that this was simply because they really have yet to actually know what direction they wanted to take with the Fallout franchise as I mean it wasn't their original property. They simply make the third one after acquiring it and really at that point they just made a Elder Scrolls game with guns in a new setting basically in how it was designed. They of-course would want to try to take it into a new direction so they could have both The Elder Scrolls and Fallout achieve wider audiences between them but they have yet to actually see what they wanted to do with it. For example as I said F4 was a great game. Had the best gun mechanics in any Fallout really, otherwise, everything else in it was a experiment. They experimented with the settlement mechanic, they tried voiced protags and a revamp of the dialogue system. The game most definitly heavily favored new and improved mechanics then the story and it showed. F76 was then a attempt to take it again into a new direction into a more wasteland survival type of game by making it multiplayer/online and of-course was a big mess and was terrible and kinda ruined the companies credibility.
I think that what helps Rockstar is the amount of content and detail they add into every release. I remember the reason I loved Grand Theft Auto San Andreas so much was because of the amount you could do in that game. Sure the customisation of vehicles in that game weren't the best of all games available at the time, but those other games also never featured all the other things GTA SA did, such as vehicle types (Car, Motorbike, Plane, Helicopter, Hovercraft etc.), character customisation, three densely populated cities in one map freely explorable, and so on. This is what makes Rockstar the company that they are. The attitude towards franchises such as Call of Duty and Fifa, is that they just release the same thing over and over, with not much new content to justify the release. Where as you can feel the passion and love gone into every Rockstar release, you feel as though they wanted to make the best of a game before releasing it. Plus I've never experienced too many AAA games with such few bugs (*Cough* Bethesda *Cough*). And this is why I anticipate every next GTA release.
What Rockstar has achieved is quite incredible. Its so great to see a company bring in that much money with that amount of games. Quality really trumps quantity
i been playing gta since gta 2 and up and i was about 8 years old when i started. being able to swim was some next gen shit for old school gta fans. only us old school know how the game evolved through time. remember when rockstar use to stream gta 4 and tbogt on their site for ps3 and 360 and pc? good times.
Remember the disappearing head glitch in rdr undead nightmare when rockstar said the were aware of it but had no intention of fixing it, they don't care about the customers once they have your money
In my country India videogames = GTA Buying Desktop "will it run GTA 5 " Buying laptop " will it run GTA 5 Visiting friend Do you have GTA 5 Even today people are buying GTA 5

Ubisoft is an 8 billion net worth company if I recall correctly, EA is even bigger. The call of duty franchise alone is worth around a billion if I recall correcty. Yeah, the video game industry is big
