Mate you are a wealth of information ,just recently a guy on the yamaha forum australia had exactly the same problem with his fuel bulb as you described and engine cutting out , there are marine mechs who are also on the site and most times you will get an answer to the problem another great video .

Quick question, my motor is bogging down when I try to give it throttle over 3k rpm, will turn off if I give it more gas, I’ve noticed it only does it when my jackplate is in the original height 3-5 inches, but when I lower down the jack plate all the way down, it will continue to run with no problem, any suggestions?

We always dump a little fuel in the water when filling our boat we don’t have an issue with our tank or vent it just happens

How does the fuel tank not develop a vacuum as fuel is used? Logically, i would think that could lead to a fuel starvation issue?

That's a good question, the answer is simple, the tanks are all vented to the outside atmosphere, so as the fuel is pulled, air fills the void in the tank. But if you have an issue, like using a vacuum gauge on the fuel line and you see a high vacuum, then there is probably something wrong with the fuel tank vent :)

Why don't aluminum boats have fuel water separators? I have owned now two brand new aluminum boats and none used fuel water separators.

Interesting, didn't know that, couldn't tell you. I think with fuel quality and the fact that it's a boat, they all should have a water separator. Unless it's like a 13-17' boat with a 12 gallon tank, that you can probably get away with because you can keep pretty clean since you can take it out of the boat and burn through the fuel more often.
