Sacha was correct about the original script, if they indeed had freddy die in the middle of the film and the second half about queen continuing without him, that would of sucked.

I feel sorry for Sacha, I've seen this happen in the industry before. They play along with a person's idea, while making private decisions of their own. They knew Sacha was never going to play Freddie, but they knew he'd leave immediately on finding it out. So they prob told him it was a sure things just to squeeze more work out of him. Schoolyard BS.

Peak Pam Anderson would have made most men feel like a potato farmer that found a lump of gold in the field; instantly suspicious and paranoid of everyone around him. like 38 special said "hold on loosely but don't let go".

Freddie was once quoted as saying, _"You can do whatever you like with my image, my music; re-mix it, re-release it...whatever. Just never make me boring."_ I've no doubt Freddie would have found Cohen's version of the film far more entertaining, and would tell Taylor and May to lighten the fuck up.

I would have loved to see a Queen movie with Sacha's involvement.

After watching the show: "Spy", I think Sacha is a seriously underrated actor. He would have been a fabulous Freddie.

I remember watching this at the cinema with my dad, back in 2006. There were beraly any people at the cinema but my dad met his colleague and his wife, she was fuming the whole time while my dad and I were laughing hysterically the whole time. Safe to say I see where my "horrible" humour" came from.

Not sure why you put 2 completely different stories together to make one story. The only link being Sascha Baron Cohen. I couldn't see him as Freddie but then I didn't really take to Rami as Freddie either since the last thing I saw him in was the computer hacker series. (Cant remember the name). The Queen movie ended up being a bit of a fluff piece but was still a good movie but kind of glossed over a lot of stuff not unlike Rocketman.

With regard to Bohemian Rhapsody Sacha Baron Cohen wanted to make a real biopic while the members of Queen want a PR movie for the band. Sure the movie was touching and quite well made, but in the end it is forgettable. No one talks about this movie anymore. I am quite convinced the Cohen version would have been a truly amazing movie that would be remembered. I think Queen did Freddy Mercury a big disservice by being being obsessed about controlling the narrative. Freddy Mercury was a human being and not a saint. I think Freddy Mercury would have despised this movie.

It would have been good to mention Sasha's brilliant leading role in the Spy biopic about the real life Israeli super spy where he proved he could take on a serious and sensitive role.

Sascha Baron Cohen is an amazing actor. Every character he portrays is 100 % bought into by diverse audiences across the globe‼️ It's obvious by Roger Taylor's statements that he is up his own ass! The bands legacy is May's and Taylors cash cow and they don't want to see a dent in that source‼️ Freddie wasn't a P C kind of guy, he'd say and do highly controversial sh!t, having little people walking around with trays of coke on their heads being one of them‼️ If Sascha knows enough about Freddie's life behind closed doors, maybe he ought to do his own movie 🎬 about Mercury, leaving the 2 "we wanna protect the bands legacy" (and their millions of pounds that Freddies talent and influence got them, and decades later the pair are still living off of) May and Taylor aren't needed for the "nitty gritty"‼️ Mercury didn't hide who he was and had an amazing sense of humour. He must've struggled working with Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee,let's face it Freddie was the one who shone and if it wasn't for him then May's talent could've never been discovered and Roger Taylors drumming - well there's plenty of drummers out there better than he, it's just they both got lucky by going to the same university as Freddie‼️ Then the 2 dump on him by making the final third of the movie about them and how they carried on when he died⁉️ Geeze c'mon Sascha give us the nitty gritty and honest version of his life‼️😉

When I was.. like 8 ish ? "Devil Without a Cause" released, and oh lord, the song "Cowboy" was everywhere. A family member had some kind of stuffed teddy bear that you could put a tape in the back of it, and it would play the tape and move the bear's mouth to the words.. I don't remember how accurate it was, But we damn sure had that bear singing Devil Without a Cause while playing Destruction Derby 2 on PS1 on nearly a daily basis 😂

So KR and Pam got married in Michigan. The staff of the restaurant that catered the event were not told where they were going or what they were doing. They showed up for work and were taken to the venue, spent all day serving at the party for minimum wage (these are tipped employees so it was not even full minimum wage) and at the end they were all tipped......$0!!!! Complete joke that Rami Malek won the Oscar for Best Actor for that role. It was more like a character from an SNL sketch than a real person. The idiocy of Queen's members wanting a puerile version of the band and of Freddie, is that all of Freddie's deviancy and foibles is what made him the artist that he was. Also he was incredibly funny. In interviews and on stage, so it would have been okay for the movie to have a sense of humor, because unlike the rest of the band, Freddie had a great sense of humor.

I still think SBC would have made a great Freddie Mercury, It's a shame that Brian May wanted such a clean and understated version of him.

Cohen is a GREAT ACTOR. Queen wanted a sanitized version of Freddy’s life. Less rock-n-roll more Hollywood spin.

Men have to be very cautious in giving love to women, especially very beautiful women. Kid Rock gave Pamela way more love than she deserved, or was willing to reciprocate, and that's why she treated him "disrespectfully." Women do a lot of self-sabotage in relationships when they feel they're settling, and nothing makes a woman feel like she's settling than a man that loves her more than she loves him. Women feel like they should have a monopoly on love and that if a man is crazy about them, it's because their love and femininity made him into that. That's their version of the chase, that's their passion and fuel in relationships.

Never watched it, never will. Nothing personal but it should have been a Freddie bio pic. I have genuine affection for all the members former and current of Queen but from time to time in the past couple of decades they've gotten tight assed AF. I don't think they dare ask themselves what would have happened if Freddie wasn't a member of Queen. Just think about it.

I didn't even know Kid Rock had married and divorced Pamela Anderson (the former was almost as inevitable as the latter.) Nor have I seen Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan but now I really want to see it. What was way more interesting was Sasha Cohen's story in the Queen losing Freddy Mercury saga. As much as I like Brian May, their insistence on sanitizing Freddy's life was a typical monarchist move.

I love Sacha, but I also agree with Roger. Sacha could have potentially overshadowed the movie, because he has such a massive presence. I think it would have been difficult for audiences to suspend their disbelief, making for an entirely different kind of movie.

I would have loved a Queen movie with Sacha, I adorned Queen growing up but I was too young to hear about the real Freddie Mercury and the lifestyle he lead. I have yet to watch the bio-pic that was eventually released and although I am sure it is fine and I'll get around to it one day but the excitement I had certainly diminished once I heard about the direct the band want to take with it.
