We are spiritual beings in a physical world. Identify with the spiritual, take care of the physical, treat all as equally deserving of the bounty of Gods love.

When we've outstripped our carrying capacity, the Earth will reset and continue on in balace until something else God has created evolves enough to think its God's greatest creation... rinse and repeat.

I believe that the greatest thing humans have created is the domestication of wolves which gave us dogs. Dogs are the best.

Our world is a place of wonders and horrors and horrible diseases not only strike the good and evil, but the very young and probably innocent. It makes it hard to believe in an all knowing, all powerful and all loving God. That said, we may not be the most important lifeform on Earth, but we may be one of the most powerful. I can only wish we were wiser in how we used that power.

Bees absolutely do pollinate vegetables. All vegetables have flowers and need bees and other pollinating insects to move their pollen from plant to plant. I just have a very small garden because I still work full time so I grow just a few things to take care of. I grow corn not for myself but for the bees! They swarm over the tassels and get so heavy with pollen I'm amazed they can keep flying. The squirrels and birds get the corn.

What a wonderful topic to discuss. What is God's greatest creation? I would guess that God's greatest creation or maybe not as a creation but the giving to us a gift of the ability to love.

We are a part of Creation whose privilege is to collaborate with the Creator to make his (his? hers? its?) work better in love and compassion for the whole universe.

I so appreciate this. I also think it's untrue to believe that we are the greatest creation-- it's kind of like the days when we thought the earth was the center of the universe, because we live here, so of course it must be. To me, the anthropomorphism of a deity was one of the bigger mistakes of religion (although, at the time, it may have been a huge innovation: I can't know). Knowing that we're a part of something huge is not only getting off our high horse, it's remembering our connection, which I see as being one of the huge problems for humanity, the reason we're so destructive to our world and each other. We don't know our place, and we suffer from that (and cause suffering from that).

I liked your question, "What would happen to Earth if there weren't any more humans?" I suspect that it would just keep rolling right along just like it did for the hundreds of million years before we appeared. It's hard for people to comprehend that in the long timeline of our planet, the existence of human beings is less than a blink of an eye...and that there's no guarantee that we'll last as long as some of the other creatures that used to roam the Earth. I was watching a documentary on Netflix about life on the planet and was floored to find that scientists estimated that there have been around FIVE extinction-level events that have occurred on Earth that had wiped out the majority of the life that had existed at that time. And that all of the life that exists in present-day only counts for 1% of the life that EVER existed on Earth. The other 99%? Dead and gone forever. That's a humbling piece of info if I ever heard one.

I've always enjoyed the idea that we are ants, looking through the grass and seeing 2 legs leading up out of sight and trying to imagine what an ANT that big looks like. Randy Travis has a song "Ants on a Log" that feeds this concept PERFECTLY.

I agree with you, we're just part of the creation. The universe, it's beauty, the science that "balances it (I'm a physics geek), and everything in the universe that makes everything, one "Creation". Sometimes I think us humans are, at times, a bit more arrogant than we should be.

I was thinking of exactly this (even to the bees and plankton and their importance!). We are all a part of the creation. No part is unimportant. So you look at a brilliant work of art and decide only one small part is essential or of importance or the cause of the greatness or do we look at the whole? I think on how we were called to STEWARD the planet and other creatures. A steward TAKES CARE of their charge. A factory steward makes sure all runs well, a steward in a household sees to the needs of the household. We have taken that charge to mean exploit the planet and creatures even being cruel and destructive in doing so! How is that stewarding? If a household steward tortured or killed those in his care would that be doing his/her "job"? A factory steward who destroys the machinery... is that doing the "job"? We need to revise what we think our role is intended to be IMHO. Great food for thought in this vid. Humans tend towards arrogance.

I work in a hospital performing ultrasound heart tests. In one room, a middle aged pastor was visiting his parishoner (all of us white folks) when l came blundering in. This was in North Carolina. Maybe it's wrong for me to feel this way, but when I imagine the world with no humans anywhere left upon it, I feel calm and happy. Relieved actually. I think maybe that would be a good way for God to wrap it up.

Whales also don't have the vocal and aural embouchure (the shape of the mouth and it's movements) to speak...or enunciate like we do. This limits their speaking skills. With electronics we are able to communicate with them. I asked the first contact why they don't live in the warm waters down south. He answered....because the water tastes funny and makes us sick! Man's intelligence? The pollution of the oceans has reduced CO2 to o2 conversion...it is our biggest problem in my opinion. Going home soon, and I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the old one had (?) been purified.

I spend my days researching animal abuse videos on social media. I hope God’s heart is far far better than the hearts of some humans. We are capable of great evil. I believe it to be a sin for man to pray to God for something that man can do for himself. If we are God's greatest creation, then it is to be protector of this Eden we call Earth, this brilliant blue spec in a near empty universe. I sometimes use the analogy of a loving parent who gifts a child a wondrous bedroom filled with toys and other things to make the child happy. The child then destroys the bedroom out of malice or just not taking care of it. Who then runs to the parent pleading with them to fix it. Hey if we are breaking it then we need to fix it.

My mom once said, if we think we were the only people in the Universe, we are either ignorant or egotistical. You are right about if we think we are the greatest, we are probably egotistical. Maybe ignorant, too. We could be the greatest, because we have free will. God gave us the gift, but do we trash it or treasure it?

It's a simple fact that the biosphere would be healthier without humans, so it falls on us to justify the cost of our existence. If we take as much as we do from Nature and use it to make each other suffer, that's a slap in the face of Creation, and our extinction will be deserved. But I think Nietzsche had one good point. A Creator does not desire corpses or sycophants, but companions. Fellow creators. That's one thing we can be to justify our being.

Humans have the most capable characteristics to have survived up this point, but all of Gods animals are part of Gods greatest Creation.

Why in the world would God allow his perfect creation to fall into sin? I fully know that God wants us to understand how great his love IS for us! Without living this life, how would we understand? And I know that the day when I bow to Jesus in Heaven, that I will finally understand what it is to be without the corruption of sin will be too great to even describe! One has to take into account when the Bible was written and to whom. The understanding of that period had no understanding of current advancements. If we box-in our definition of GOD and his principles than what happens 100 or 5000 years fron now. The principles that are behind the scriptures are sound and are timeless.

What if God isn't any image. What if God is the original energy source of everything.. the BRIGHT light that's always talked about. If God is all energy, then he surrounds us always. Interesting question. Man is not the most intelligent creature on the planet. Whales have 3 times the brains that we have. However, they do not have counter opposing limbs....fingers, hands, arms. They can not DO the things we can because of it. We are the most animated, intelligent computer (robot) ever CREATED. Whales are poorly educated...according to man's ways. However, utilising whale intelligence to guide human animation is the best, harmonious integration. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. God, in his infinite wisdom.....

God is the invisible elohim...that's why he created the Lord to create our mass/energy continuum. Flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of heaven. He gave up his full divinity to make and save us....his visible Image.

Maybe a better way to frame that is we were given the greatest gift from God, because he/she thinks we're great. Nature, unless we interfere with it, follows it's instincts. It functions as it was created. Humans have the opportunity to rise above our animal instincts and model our behavior after Gods goodness. Humans are the greatest of creation when we put others first. When we're good we're amazing and when we're bad we're monsters. I’ve never once seen a wolf run back into a forest fire to save another animal, but humans do. I’ve also never seen a wolf kill, unless it was necessary for survival. But humans are capable of senseless killing. Greatest or monster, it's our free will to choose💕

So I was listening to this as I was driving over to my friend's house and I was amazed at everything around me that humans have created. Cars, roads, bridges, parks....and I think we ARE His greatest creation, and yes because of the gray matter between our ears and everything we are thus capable of that animals aren't. Bats and dolphins have sonar but can they build what we've built? Can they experience what we experience? And if you've seen any post-apocalyptic movie, if we didn't exist, they might be fine BUT everything would become overgrown and desolate. God did say that He created us TO steward the earth and the beasts on it. That is our purpose. Or one of them. The other is to develop a relationship with Him. Can animals do that? So I agree that our brains are definitely what makes us superior and in His image. Having a brain to learn and heart to love. 💚💚💚

Indeed, if relying exclusively on the Bible were the only source for understanding the Divine, I would have been an arrogant, scoffing atheist for the whole of my life. Luckily, I had the open-mindedness to also study the Upanishads and other Dharmic Scriptures in my youth, where speculation on the real possible meanings of Omnipresence and Omniscience showed me a path beyond anthropomorphizing toward greater humility concerning the place of humanity in the Grand Scheme of Things. Doing that did not lead me away from Christ; it actually brought me back to the Abrahamic traditions with a fresh eye and deeper appreciation for the essential wisdom in the Gospels and the Prophets of Israel. Humility and honest inquiry - not pretense to knowledge out of any particular Book - strikes me as the surest path to rich and beneficial experience in prayer and life.

God is a figment of man's imagination. I'm sure you can dig it if you try...or not...doesn't matter. There is no evidence that existence has anything to do with a creator.

Genesis 1:27 is pretty self explanatory. I would also suggest God sent his son to save human souls. He created a beautiful garden for us to enjoy and bring him glory. Just my opinion I guess.
