One day Jesus was challenged by protesters. Some Pharisees challenged him about his disciples eating without washing their hands first. Jesus slammed them, called them hypocrites, and quoted Isaiah to their faces: "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me." (Matthew 15: 9, NIV). Then he called the whole crowd to himself and explained why the Pharisees were wrong. If that's how Jesus treated protesters in his day, what would he do to hypocriites today? What would he say to people who act like prigs and conflate religion with politics?
And they had just called her a liar - that is what she responded to. The full video shows this. The versions where they edited it to look like she responded to them saying something about Jesus - that is a very not legal defamation attempt. Rev, the muffled version you heard was muffled bc its their fake edited version.
They yelled something about Trump at her rally. She told them tbey were at the wrong rally. Then when they were escorted out, they started yelling Jesus's name. She didn't make them leave for yelling Jesus.
And I just thought I'd share a tidbit from my childhood. My father claimed to be Jewish. We never went to temple, never celebrated any holy days. I didn't have a bat mitzvah. We didn't even have a menorah. But whenever he got into any trouble, he claimed he was being persecuted for being a Jewish. The thought bubble in my head: No, dad, it's because you're a schmuck."
If you believe anything off the Fox network, the convicted, fined, lying, fraudulent, Russian propaganda Fox network, you’re not to be trusted in a democracy.
What is the point of saying, "Jesus is Lord", when they don't even practice one of His basic teachings, "Love your neighbor as yourself". Thank you, Rev Ed. 💙💙💙
@@mamiemartinson4649 Completely agree. The question I have is this: Did the boys purposely wait for the other outburst before yelling what they did in order to intention conflate them.
I know this one. I heard it. I rewound and listened several times. One belligerent attendee was yelling ‘Jesus is Lord’. Another one, at nearly the same moment, yelled ‘Lies!’ at Kamala. They were creating disturbance, which she tolerates and often answers. She responded, ‘uh, you guys are at the wrong rally’. Or similar. That’s NOT MOCKING Christians. It was clear they were being jerks so she laughingly suggested they go be among their own. I don’t see it as snarky, but great delivery, coup de graçe. Setting things straight. I do appreciate your takes, this one included. Thank you Rev. Ed.
So many people try to put “ the Lord” or “ Jesus” as a bumper sticker on their own agenda. Do not play with the creator of all things and the one who keeps your heart beating.
There are Christians who are for choice, and have been for choice since before 1972. Jesus is their Lord as well. There are people in my country who refuse to understand this fact.
She was responding to someone yelling, "Lies! Lies! Lies!", clear on the other side of the venue from where these guys were standing. she was looking in the opposite direction! False Flag, False Outrage!
I am always astounded how these so-called Christians very happily bear false witness in a very public forum. They are twisting the truth & they know what they are doing.
That’s what I thought she was responding to. I didn’t even hear anyone say “Jesus is lord”. Also as someone who was raised catholic, went to catholic schools, church every Sunday etc. The thing that had turned me away from the church is the blatant hypocrisy. Especially the total disregard for Christs disdain for the wealthy.
I thought the same! I heard someone yelling “Lies!” right before she made the comment, so thought that was the target of her response. I had no idea there was someone else yelling something otherwise.
We clearly hear them screaming LIES, LIES, so she kindly directed them to the a trump rally, where real lies are being displayed. All this without dropping names. She is an class act. Thank you, Reverend Trevors
They obviously were there to disrupt. The obviously didn't attend to support the candidate and do indeed belong at the smaller rally down the street. Thank you for once again countering their misleading narratives.
@@gdbalck - they didn’t have to be there to support her, the point is to go and listen. If what you want to do is disrupt, don’t whine when you get tossed out - unless their point was to get tossed out and then whine about it.
Once again thank you for being a Christian that has an ability to critically think. I don’t mean that as an insult to others but only that it’s refreshing to hear a conversation and not an agenda. I’m an atheist that grew up Christian and am disgusted at what I see from this twisted version that I didn’t learn in my youth. It’s not possible to converse with them and there needs to be more like this for that chance at an honest conversation.
I was nervous that I was going to have to unsubscribe... Thanks for being a voice of reason. I don't consider myself a Christian but I find your channel tremendously comforting. I do respond to people who walk the Christian walk though!
watch the real video though - she responded directly to them calling her a liar. You have been tricked with the same edited version Rev heard. They cant just legally edit in a Jesus comment so that it sounds like thats what they said before she addressed hecklers.
@@DeMeowcracyMeow I'm not sure what really happened, but I wouldn't put it past them to doctor up the video to make themselves seem oh-so-Christian and persecuted (poor little them), so they can then proceed to whine about their treatment.
@@DeMeowcracyMeow I don't know what really happened, but I wouldn't put it past them to doctor the video to make themselves seem oh-so-Christian and persecuted (poor little them), then proceed to whine about their treatment.
@@DeMeowcracyMeow- Do you have a link to the real video you can send us? I never heard of”Jesus is Lord” in what I watched, or anything else…just Kamala’s rebuttal.
Actually, they mock God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit by agreeing with an evil man like Donald Trump and then pretend they are christians by criticizing others. I'm a christian, and I feel ashamed by all those pastors who are accepting his ways and then saying that he is chosen.
If I love Jesus so much and follow his teachings and I still take it personally when others do not see things as I do, then I never knew Christ as he wished to be known. Come on Christians, maybe it’s time to stop using your head to follow the “rules”, and start using your heart to guide you as I believe Jesus did and would have wanted for you too. Much love Rev. Ed. Thanks for another great talk. ❤
When the “Right to Life” movement acknowledges maternal mortality, infant deaths, ectopic pregnancies, death through lack of medical access and our flawed death penalty then they may be worth listening to. 💙💙💙
I'll go you one further. If someone needs “Jesus is Lord” shouted at them, it's Donald Trump, not Kamala Harris. Because which of them still needs to accept that?
At one point Trump was asked about being forgiven and his response was something close to that he did everything right, so he needed no forgiveness. I'm not as devout as some, but I can't imagine any devout Christian saying he or she didn't need forgiveness of their sins.
@@robert5451-b7y yes, and this video clip is easily found online. He said that he doesn't see the need to confess, seek His forgiveness, repent, that he doesn't see the need to bring God into it. Trump has so many times done and said things that are diametrically opposed to what Christ's teachings and example lead us to, so many times done and said things that are in direct contradiction to what Jesus commands us in Matthew 22:36-40. His attitudes certainly do not follow these commands. God bless.
I think the guys who edited the video so they could fool a bunch of people into thinking this happened - those guys need it yelled at them. Bc they had just yelled at her and called her a liar at least twice, and she directly responded to that. Unfortunately they have gotten something out of this by fooling even people who are for Harris who didnt watch the rally and arent bothering to go check.
shout it at the guys who doctored the video. bc all the lives of the rally have hecklers calling her a liar repeatedly and she responded directly to that
I agree with you to a point. I watched the rally before all this...misunderstanding. She was responding to two hecklers that were closer to her. Looked right at them and called them out. The fellows you are speaking of were sitting way off behind the hecklers. it was just at the same time. I doubt she ever heard them because of the much closer hecklers.
She did the right thing, keeping religion & politics aka church & state, separate, as decreed by our 1A rights! This was not about shutting out Jesus it was about upholding our constitution!
yeah but for the record, that was an edited version. she directly responded to them yelling out that she was a liar. thats when she told them they are at the wrong place
its kind of interesting that they dubbed in different words over them calling her a liar, so that they could put a big lie out there. their projection is getting more creative.
Thank you for setting the record straight on what actually happened. (To clarify- the disruptive hecklers) There were also others at the rally yelling about Trump being Lord too. No mention of THAT anywhere.
I agree. She didn't say you're at the wrong rally, go to church. She said you're at the wrong rally, meaning she could tell by their behavior that they are Trump fans
Love your sarcasm Rev Ed. Please don't stop. Notice the difference between Harris' response to Trump's. He encouraged violence towards the hecklers. Out of the mouth exposes the heart.
Thank you, Rev. Ed. Those noise makers were obviously out to heckle Kamala Harris... nothing more & nothing less. When they couldn't get under her skin, they made up stuff, trying to make her look bad. I loved how she handled them, and I love how you handled this whole controversy ! 🙏
I saw the whole interview. Those guys were being jerks. They kept interrupting making noises all kinds of things. They were trying to disrupt her rally. You know that's why people don't like Christians today, they have a right to disagree they don't have a right to interrupt and be rude. And everyone in the rally applauded for that.
I know! It's stuff like that that make people want to get as far away from anything even remotely Christian-based because what do you see? This kind of bad behavior, lack of concern for others - which is why they can gleefully shoot down things like Roe v. Wade and LGBTQIA+ rights - as well as this uninhibited worship of Trump. It's sad, especially seeing as Jesus went through all He did to try to rescue people and establish a good relationship with Him, the reason He came down!
Thank you so much for this video. I had a friend send me the clip of her “mocking Jesus”. He is trying to convince me she is pure evil. I know better! I don’t understand how Christians can be so blinded from the truth. It is heartbreaking 💔
Thank you for this. Using Jesus to excuse un-Christlike behavior has become a sad trend lately. When I am approached by people who spew hate in the name of Jesus, I ask them to think about the Beatitudes.
Most Christians could, possibly, understand the Beatitudes, but they never go on to read the 2nd half of the Sermon on the Mount. The most ignored section of the Gospels. We often hear so-called Christians, who use the excuse of "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", but ignore where JESUS corrected the OT meaning.
She was right, a democratic political rally is not the place for religious bias. Separation of church and state, please; as Jesus said "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's".
@@DeMeowcracyMeowShe has spoken several times about her perspective on religion and politics, and she is for both political and religious freedom. I am a Christian and I am for religious freedom.
Thank you for your insight, Rev. While not a "person of faith", I appreciate the separation of belief from action when they truly do not match up (literal reading applies).
If they have a right to speak, and they do, others have the same right to respond (though NOT physically, of course). My faith guides me in everything. In every situation, every interaction, I ask myself "what would Jesus do," "what would Jesus say," and "how would Jesus treat this person?" Doing my best to have this perspective active in my life in every moment has transformed me, my marriage, my perspective as a father, as a friend, and as a man, and it has changed my life in ways i could never have imagined. I sometimes wonder what perspective motivates the words, actions, and attitudes of people who are calling themselves Christians yet do not show themselves to be following His teachings, His example, and His clear commands, like those found in Matthew 22:36-40, Matthew 5-7, John 15:12-14... May God bless you all abundantly with His love, His light, His grace, and His peace.
One is taking the Lord's name in vain when one uses the Lord's name as a political challenge. You can judge a tree by its fruit. Kamala wants to help all people. Who were those protesters trying to help?
^. ^ Well yes Rev.... its working. I have just recovered from a serious illness and I really am touched by how much people care about me . Its amazing! VVxx
I agree with you 💯. Who knows what else they shouted out along with the statement that's being highlighted. They were being disruptive and should have been asked to leave.
they called her a liar. she responded directly to that. there is a fake video out there making it look like she responded to a religious statement. its fake
I left my church because I couldn't stand behind organized religion. Too often, I was the target of weaponized faith. I enjoy listening to you talk; it reminds me of what my grandma taught me. We didn't go to Sunday service after her stroke, so we would study at home.
Bro Ed you are so transparent. You are sold out to Jesus and souls bro. Good message. I want to use 1 or 2 of your points at a bible study I'm teaching next week. Have blessed and safe weekend my Bro In Christ.
Amen. I am tired of the constant outrage from “Christians” these days. We really need to honestly examine the things that provoke us and dial down on the offense taken. That would be so much healthier.
She was not mocking Jesus. They were heckling her and she sent them to the Trump rally. She is a Baptist. Give me a break. She kicked them out because they were heckling her. They ostracized her and she ostracized them.
Man!! You hit on things that tick me off. They lie so much. I loved the way she handled it. She has stopped hecklers 3 times now. She could have told security to drag them out like t does.
I have come to the conclusion that if someone results in throwing Religion in politics, they are not serious about God. I'm not religious, but I talk to God all the time. I have watched people in churches of different religions do horrible things since I was a child. I lost faith in churches and pastors, etc. But when Trump had all the "Good Christian" support? I felt justified in my beliefs. Religion has spilled so much blood and has been involved in corruption. I have been a very lost soul, because I don't feel much hope these days. You're the first person I have come across who appears to be real and compassionate. I say appears because I'm still skeptical and I trust no one. But I still feel hopeful. Thanks.
If you feel like a lost soul, there are churches run by people like Rev. Ed Trevor with kind and loving congregations (not Trumpers). You might try visiting visiting one, see if it lifts your spirits.
In that crowd what they said may not be what she heard. In the footage I saw of that moment what can be heard being shouted by a few in that crowd is, "Liar... liar... liar!"
Some "Christians" use the Ten Commandments, sixth commandment to use against abortion, while ignoring Genesis 2:7. They use the OT to condemn the LGBTQIA, as well, while ignoring the NT.
University age people are not “kids”. They are grown people. Those people were using the Lord’s name in vain and then they lie about it. It’s not the place to yell out in opposition with the Lord’s name in that setting in the name is politics. It’s not sacred. It’s hurtful and they know what they are doing and certainly old enough to know that.
I wonder if they got the idea to doctor the video AFTER that, or if this was their plan all along. hmm. Exactly how fast did they put the doctored version on the internet? The less time it took them, the more likely they planned it.
“Let us therefore animate and encourage each other, and show the whole world that a Freeman, contending for liberty on his own ground, is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth.”(George Washington)
actually watch the full video - she directly responded to them yelling "Lies youre lying". The supposed "Chr!st!ans" are bearing false witness. Again. Truly shocking. You were duped.
I had said she never mocked Christianity. She didn’t even mention it. The projection by those two men is on full display. And of course they are doing the media tour & I wonder who can afford to take the time & money to do this? Or is someone financing this?
So, imagine that I bang on my neighbors’ door at 3:45 a.m. and wake them up while yelling, “Jesus is Lord!” One of the neighbors chastises me for waking him up and tells me to go away. Suppose I do the same thing at the next neighbor‘s door, and she calls the police, who apprehend me for being a public nuisance. Can I claim that my neighbors are persecuting me for my faith or say that my neighbors are mocking God? No, because I was not truly representing Jesus when I ignored my neighbors’ needs for sleep and rest. The same concept applies here.
